I've seen this picture many times, and liked it. But I never knew that it is from a ~1992 VS catalog! In retrospect it does look like a VS bikini shot of that vintage. I knew she had done a little VS, but I thought it was all modeling clothes, and coming considerably later. She'd have been about 17 years old here...

I read somewhere recently that she said, her tattoos kept her from booking modeling jobs, is it true? I mean Linda, Cindy, Christy, Stephanie, Kate etc all work still and niki fell off the radar. ive even seen people ask who she was, which makes me feel so old and depressed considering how huge she was.

And most of those girls are several years older than Niki - Linda is 10 years older.   I wonder if part of it might be because Niki hit big at such an early age - she was a teen supermodel, practically a household name when she was still in high school.  So her image was really young, which doesn't carry over so well to her 30's.   Kind of like a movie star who hit in her teen years. 

 

I have to admit I don't  care for the big tattoo on her arm myself, though.   Stephanie's ankle tattoo is nice, but I don't like large tattoos on girls, which so many of them seem to be going in for these days.
