Wait a minute, Adam Johnson GOAL?

You mean when you kick the ball and it goes into the opposition's net? Hmmm. Rings a bell, but only vaguely!

Everyone knows Pep took his cues from the Lambert playbook, beat for beat.

Weekly Premier League kneejerk update:

City are crap / City will win the title at a canter

Arsenal are rubbish / Özil will guide them to the Champions League

Chelsea in crisis / Chelsea back on top

Spurs to fail without Gareth Bale / New look Spurs can win the league

Luis Suarez is back and better than ever / Luis who?

Don't forget

Sell Rooney, the vile spud faced Judas / Rooney is indispensable

That Mesut Özil, what a signing. He even provided the assist for Wilshere's smoking coverstory.

Of all the reasons doing the rounds for me not becoming England manager, the  compensation issue makes most sense.

It'd barely make my top 20, Harry.

How about the fact he is a crook that had just been through an embarrassing trial when the FA was vetting him?

The FA not hiring him was a rare moment of common sense by them.

Another day, another manager! Let's see if Gus can break our all-time consecutive passing record (of eight).

Still, England's loss has been QPR's gain. Oh wait...

Articles like this read violently cynical at the time but now Harry Houdini has his sour grapes book out it goes to new levels http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3284/euro-2012/2011/09/07/2654339/of-course-england-can-win-euro-2012-tottenham-boss-harry

'They had players on astronomical wages, being watched by crowds of 18,000 at Loftus Road. It wasn't sustainable; it wasn't right.'

So let's sign Chris Samba for £12m and give him £100,000 a week. Harry, you've done it again!

Honestly, this book is going to be such a treat. They should do an interactive audio-visual version where Harry reads passages of it through the window of his car.

All he has to do is retrieve the Sbragia blueprint!

Shocking scenes from the Academy today as Poyet reaches for a zip on the back of his neck, unzips it and reveals himself to be none other than Paolo Di Canio. HE'S BACK!!!

Cardiff have suspended their head of recruitment Iain Moody and replaced him with an unknown 23-year-old who was formerly on work experience. Moody helped Cardiff sign summer recruits such as Gary Medel and Steven Caulker in his scouting role. But he has been succeeded by Kazakh Alisher Apsalyamov, who was on work experience at the club in the summer and who is a friend of owner Vincent Tan's son.

Tan-tastic!

Scouting on Football Manager doesn't count as a real qualification, Vincent!

We're going to the world cup again, for the first time in a dozen years!

To put in perspective just how long ago it is, I was still in college last time we made a WC tournament...

Who would have bet on Andros Townsend scoring for England? Apart from Andros Townsend, obviously.

Croatia really underperformed under Stimac. They got just one point from their last three games. Two of them home games!

Yes,they performed bad,so they didn't deserve this time, but generally they're strong team and presented good play before .That's what meant.
