Well, there's an exception to most rules. ![]()
Quite honestly, although you'll hear a lot of people bagging on Sofia Coppola's performance in that, my overriding memory of it was how different Al Pacino's voice sounded from the second movie to the third one. Granted, I watched the trilogy in fairly quick succession, but it just felt so jarring.

To me, it seems odd that the movies were made by the same people because 3 has a completely different feel to it.

The Glass Castle

The ninth gate (1999)
Last night (2010)
El arte de morir por eso no me gustan algunos calvos, entre otras cosas:

Pump up the volume (1990)
Laggies (2014)

The Hitman's Bodyguard - better and funnier than I expected

Wind River
Quiet slow paced movie until all of a sudden I was on the edge of my seat holding my breath.
Sad, well told story with great scenery and outstanding performances by a couple of supporting actors.

Logan Lucky

Wind River - ![]()

50 Shades of Grey - mehhh, not sure about the actors. Didn't really like it.
Lucy - Great pace, and idea. Scarlett did a good job ![]()

I liked Lucy, too. I don't think many people have seen it.

American made

Logan Lucky
Slow here and there but great acting across the board.
Lots of fun cameos and another excellent David Holmes score.
Alien: Covenant
The title is an exercise in false advertisement. This isn't an Alien film , but rather the story of a group of idiot scientists who get caught up in a fight between two dull androids, one of which has an affinity for small extra-terrestrials that will eventually grow into creatures similar to the title creature from the first film. This film is simply given the Alien title so that they didn't have to call it Prometheus II, instead opting to officially attach it to a more successful franchise rather than continue trying to continue on from the lambasted Prometheus. The problem is that its predecessor was a far superior film, even with all of its flaws.
If there is to be more films in the Alien franchise, then they need to move back into the already established timeline of the franchise and do something set after Alien Resurrection. This prequel nonsense, which focuses so little on the title character(s) that one has to wonder what the point of it all is, needs to go away.

Still Alice

Thursday (1998) - i liked it more than pulp fiction
Hacksaw Ridge (2016)
