Pick up Failures...

What was the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you when you tried to pick someone up? Something that you would remember for a long time to come and joke about it with your friends.

Mine was the time when i noticed this really beautiful woman working at a retail store. My jaw dropped to the floor at the beauty of this chick and being an overconfident bastard that i am (which my friends always complain about), i talked to her by accidentally bumping into her. And it really was an accident. And i made jokes about it and she responded. That was the first day.

Two days later, as i walked in, she talked to me first rather than the other way around. And i was like a kid in a candy store so we talked a bit more before i bought a T-shirt. The third visit, which was 2 weeks later, i bought another t-shirt and talked to her a bit more. So i brought up my courage and subtle asked her if she wants to go get a coffee with me. And trust me, it was very subtle. But she said no. I tried again, not giving up.

...then the most embarrassing thing happened. She showed me her ring. She is soon gonna get married. Ah the horror of that moment burned in my mind like a hot glue. Yea...it wasn't a pleasant experience but i got out of that store with what little dignity i had left intact.

no rejection stories like that though. just me at the front door begging on my knees and crying at her feet for her to take me back and an angry/annoyed father coming out with a golf club. nothing too serious like you dude.

if anything, there was this girl at a halloween party who i wasn't even hitting on. i just nodded and said hi and in a disgusted sort of tone, she points at a fat girl and says, that girl over there has been talking about you all night. and then there's the fake boyfriend stories. haha. but that isn't bad either. nothing as bad as missing a ring. never.

They have an entire wing devoted to me at the "Pick up Failures" hall of fame. Buy the ticket just like everyone else, you cheap bastard!

SS .. I bet the hall of fame would be a learning experience .. Might actually pick up a girl or two... hehehehe

Oh to actually make a statement for the topic.. how about blowing it before the first word gets out? I once set someone up with a friend of mine who originally was interested in me .. missed that one through all of the corny lines he was making .. <_<

Dude, i'm a twenty year old uni student. The last thing i want to do is ask a women with a ring out on a date. In fact i never worried about this kind of situation happening because it never occurred to me. It never dawned on me that this would ever happened because I usually ask a girl out around my age...which she very much looked like.

Truthfully, that was actually the third time in my life asking a girl out on a date, which i don't usually do unless i am really...and when i say "really" i put allot of emphasis on the word, i was "Really" taken in with her.
