We've got someone posing to be apart of the BZ staff. http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?showtopic=27197 Also, I'm not too big on the person who posted that topic either. That was their first post and this "Lady_Admin" () just joined today. How do we handle something like this?

If ever in doubt the first thing is the IP tool. You click on the IP address at the far right of their posts, it brings up the IP look up tool which has 3 options, Resolve, Find Members and Find Posts. However, some friends and family share the same computer and some trolls don't have the same IP address, so it can get tricky that way .

As to them both signing up the same day, it would seem fishy to report herself (unless she has multiple personalities, which is possible of course :| ). But the newest members are featured at the bottom of the home page everyday, so it is a possiblity she may have saw them there and clicked on the name ?

Unfortunately this is the third case of PM spamming I've seen . The worst of which being some creep pretending to be an agent and one of our members actually sent him pictures and personal information . That's why we must defeat them all !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, I didn't think of that seeing the name on the bottom of the page. I'll definitely use the IP tool next time. Glad to see it's all cleared up, just hope anyone that got a message from that person didn't click on the link. Thank guys!

Wow this isn't good :| Should we post an official announcement for all the members to see that if they get a message from someone like that not to click on any links? I know most members are smart enough not to click on suspicious things like that, but it would probably be good for them to know what to look for and what to do when things like that happen.

oh and i guess for future refrence we should "DELETE MEMBER" instead of banning, taht way the PMs disapear (well it says "guest" and they are empty") so our users dont get affected.

I remember the staff used to generally tell people to just "logout and don't log back in". I'm thinking maddog wants to delete instead of ban to get rid of their spam pms, but I don't know whether that goes for people requesting to be deleted or not . My vote would be no on delete requests .

Fashion Models, for example is for threads about the models, there is no subforum intended for spam topics. We're overloaded with spammers at the moment, so there is pretty much a low tolerance policy, but I thought I'd warn you first, but an infraction after this warning will likely end in suspension or banishment. I hope it doesn't have to come to that, have a great day .

....just now. I thought since the site is at least fashion related that he/she may have a chance at "rehabilitation" so to speak. So far all the fashion site (not join my agency ones mind you) type spammers I talked to one on one actually stopped , so I thought it was worth at least one more chance. But if they show signs of being active without responding and do the same thing again, a suspension must take place of course .

So remember Neutfluff ... one of the ones i said we have to delete ... well she keeps changing her bday so that she keeps showing up in the bday announcements. She's done it like 3 or 4 times already that i've seen

I don't like the birthday thing either, but I don't think we can take action necessarily . She's obviously just tying to get attention, I guess you could just tell her to post some pics if she wants attention .

I guess I was a little paronoid since he was such a relentless menace for a time, but I was afraid Christine http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?showuser=32673 was blesthefall for a moment :ininja: . Because she has a simular awkward one liner type style that he has, but the ip tool said she was clear and I didn't seen any infractions when I looked up her posts...so I guess she's aight .

Joe, Neutfluff's thing isn't the bday thing ... but the fact that they spammed with medication and stuff. I suspended their account ... but they are apparently doing this so people can go to their account page and see the links there. Thats why she needs to be deleted , for the drug thing.

Okay, I misread about the birthday and thought it was someone else .

This stalking nuisance generally goes straight for the Isabeli thread and has certain catchphrases like "Isabeli will always be my #2 FRANCY" ect. *shudders* . But this person came up negative for multiple accounts but does show some of the signs (having just got here, one post but several friends added) that are typical of spammers. And I don't think she has reason to lie on someone with one post in a thread she's never been to, so I'll send both a message to inquire more .
