Hi, I really have no idea to the rules and regulations of this site. However Emily Didonato's thread in the fashion model section, has pictures taken off her personal facebook. She does not accept anyone she does not know and hasn't for a long time to prevent her personal pictures with her friends, family, etc. from being posted on sites like this. She is fully aware that she is a model and in the industry of photography but the pictures she doesn't take while on the job she would love to keep to herself. She doesn't mean it rudely or offensively when she says that she wishes these candid photos weren't posted on this site, but she would love a separation from her work and real life. She is an 18 year old girl, who wants to take dumb pictures with her best friends and not worry about them showing up on a blog, and while she knows its only fans admiring them, it still bothers her. People add her best friends on facebook and take the photos from their facebooks now, and her friends who are not models or anything of the sort are having to delete all their friends on facebook, and take their photos down because of the people posting these pictures. Like I said I don't know the rules or if anything can be done, but I made the mistake of making an account and posting on the thread. I didn't mean to start an argument or anything of the sort, I just didn't know I should have come to an administrator. Im deeply sorry for starting a little argument like that. However permission was never given to anyone claiming to have the right to post those pictures. I never gave anyone permission to post those pictures, and neither did Emily or the rest of my friends. I am an 18 year old girl who just doesn't want mine or my best friends pictures we take together to be posted all over, a modeling site. Thankyou for your time, i understand if nothing can be done about this, but i appreciate you taking the time to read this, and possibly try and help.

I PMed her back asking was she in any of the pictures in question and if so, which ones? I also asked her to provide proof to verify she is Emily's friend. In addition, I told her if Emily wants any of the candids removed, she must contact us directly with proof of identity.

Yeah, she sent that to me and I didn't know what to say . So I told her "reasonable concern, but I'll have to refer you to an administrator" and gave her the link to your pm . But it looks like you knew what to do .

I added 2 post to the Moderation Guide: "How To Spot Hotlinking" and "Editing and Moving A Model's ID Request"

I also updated the guide on how to edit a post to further clarify things:

EDITING: There is a full edit and quick edit option. When you edit a post make sure you explain why the post was edited, either by typing it in red or completing the Reason for edit box (your choice). Make sure you indicate your name in the edit (Ex: "posted edited by PinkCouture"). In the FULL EDIT option, you can also tick a box so the legend "This post has been edited by so-and-so at time" appears on the post.

EDIT: I also added a "Topics Needing Bio" post in the MG

Update on the Emily Didonato Candid Situation

You can verify your ID by submitting something that indicates your name, location, and etc. Such as social networking site accounts (MySpace, Friendster, Facebook, etc.), blog, journal, and etc. If you don't have any of the suggested "proofs" try to think of something else. As long as it proves to us that your identity is not fake then it will work. If you are using a social networking account or etc., please provide us with your email address to give us the option of adding you as a friend or a DIRECT LINK to your profile. Providing us with just your account name/nickname or anything of the like, would not suffice. A plain email addresses will also not suffice as proof of your identity.

And Please DO NOT give us your passwords to your social networking site accounts, blog or etc.!!! We do not need that information. We just need be able to check your account to verify you are who you claim to be.

She gave me the direct link to her FB account and I temporarily befriended her so I can further verify things. Based on what I saw I am pretty sure she is not a fake and that she indeed does know Emily. There's even a video of them together on her wall posted by Emily. I was also able to locate most of the pictures she wanted to be deleted from here. So all the pictures she wanted to be removed has been removed from Emily's thread (Y)

The "How-to" section for mods said that we have to do a certain number of jobs per month right. How do you keep track of that. Shall we record what we do or does the system do it automatically?

My opinion on this candids thing:

I really don't think its our place to sit here and regulate where these images come from since there are no copyright infringements taking place. I think the general announcement that you put out is great. We did our due diligence in not promoting the posting of private pictures. Celebrities should not be letting strangers on their facebooks as friends. They should create fan pages instead and regulate the content that fans are able to see on their own. Once the pictures have actually been posted on Facebook they are pretty much fair game for anyone who has been granted access to these pictures to do as they wish with them. Accepting a random stranger as a friend on your facebook is the same as granting them access to a lot of private material. Private pictures about their private lives should never be made available to random fans through facebook in the first place. I don't think it is our responsibility to sit here and make sure that no celebrity's personal candids make it onto our forum.

I wanted to post this with my announcement but didn't think it fit well. I will figure out a way to add it somehow

I am not saying we should question and check every candid. That is just crazy. The only reason why I spoke to wools was Pix had concerns about it. I did not want to ignore Pix b/c that would be rude and I felt his request was valid.

Seems as though I'm hearing quite a few scanners (members who scan a lot) saying members are reposting their scans in the same thread without crediting them .

There's been quite a few but I don't remember all their names. I know it happens to Jal a lot and Vampirehorde on the internet in general. Some others whose names I forgot. And I was joking with frenchkiki saying, "you guys love Veronika Verakova so much but only two people come to her thread" and she at first joked about the "psychos" in Bar's thread and said she would like to post more scans if people wouldn't repost them in the same thread without crediting.

People who scan things generally put all the information regarding (date, photographer, publication ect.) so they could definitely find it in the search easily. So maybe we could just ask them to do that and credit the scanners ?
