Did anyone else get this PM?
No, but her thread was removed yesterday, or at least it should of been.

@maddog107 Any way we could disable the ratings/reactions option?
Or at least make it so we could see our own but not other's (like with warnings)
This is causing more issue and tension than necessary
The option is kinda pointless if you think about it. Hopefully we could figure out a solution for this
Also, image search not working ![]()

Gone. And hmm ok thanks ill take a look.

I was just about to rate someone's post.
Are people really fighting over this stuff? I thought it was great. This is obviously fairly objective on my end as I only had a few myself.

I thought it was fun too. Maybe if we remove the crying and the confused faces and only leave the trophy and smiley? Thoughts? Would that solve the fighting? @PinkCouture @Prettyphile

I think if we could figure out a way to keep ratings private like we could see our own but others can't see our's (similar to warnings) it would be perfect!!! ![]()
And if possible, could we disabled it in certain threads like competitions? I think Cult Icon brought up this point and I have had this experience too, people would "like" obscure competition posts that have no substance ---example Celebrity Scoop. Also, there seems to be a bug with the alert system. I get 3 alerts when someone "like" one of my post.
Yeah I personally think only 2-3 makes sense. Trophy (Thanks), Like (Heart/Thumbs Up) and maybe Laughing (Funny)

Yeah, I think getting rid of cry and confused would go a long way. Maybe you could experiment with just that first and see how it goes? I guess this must be what Cult Icon meant...
This is an interesting topic though because along the lines of the previous discussion about making the site more palatable to guests, the like function does make the site more with the times.

I think there was also a person who is accusing members of giving their friends "likes" just for the sake of it. I personally have not had that experience but that could also be b/c I am pretty asocial with most people here
Which is why I think keeping the "likes" to just your own would be the best way to go ![]()

Liking that post makes more sense than liking a post in which someone added a point to a celeb in Celebrity Scoop.

Whereas the stuff that I liked was editorials ect. and good one-liners, I don't even see what's wrong with liking something just because you like the person. If you could only see your likes, would you also see that you liked a post already?
To be fully honest, this is not about the like button with me as I just had a "neutral" standing myself. I just feel that a few overly sensitive people shouldn't stop the community as a whole from having nice things.

Personally, I feel neutral about the whole rating thing as well. I am ok with it either way. I never paid attention to how many points I had and I rarely gave out likes. However the tension of having a Rating System does seem a bit extreme at times and I am not sure why. It could be b/c some who gravitate towards online boards are very invested in the community. It becomes a huge part of their life & reality to the point any possible indication of rejection or being excluded (whether it is logical or even true) feels very personal. When something is so prevalent in your life it is inevitable to feel "sensitive" about it. I think having ratings are a good thing in concept and intention but in practice (on here at least) it causes more issues than good. Keep in mind those who are complaining are very vocal and "opinionated" to start with and might not necessarily represent the overall.
To answer you question, yes you will be able to see your likes and the posts you liked. Using the image you posted above as an example, only you will be able to see your points (the "479" part under the username, title, etc.) but others won't but everyone will be able to see it. However everyone will be able to see the number of likes a post got (the "Heart" part on the upper right corner). Does that make sense? Based on my understanding I think the points part is the root of the issue, so I am thinking if you can't see other member's points it might resolve the issue significantly. It is a good compromise & middle ground solution

You can assign number of points per "emotion" we could just set everything to 0 points. So you could still hand out hearts and laughs but everyone would have 0 point reputations. But then unless people get those notifications they will never know when someone liked them or appreciated their post. So ![]()

^ That might work. Worth a try

@maddog107 - Quick question, can avatar/sigs have bare butts in them? (Please say yes lol I want a new set

Received this message via PM. What is the procedure for such requests? I think in the past we always asked for a proof of identity first?

Any way we can get just a little more space for the avatars? ![]()

They are not big enough?! Was actually talking to a firm to redesign the site and one thing we agreed on was to make it smaller and allocate more space to the content itself as thats what people are looking at.

Are you talking about file size or dimensions? Its definitely big enough for file sizes as there are some pretty lengthy gifs around. For me, I mean dimensions for still pics in that I just can't get this picture to fit in the box no matter how small I shrink it for some reason. I guess its because I usually just have squirrels or heads.
