i dont think it will make much of a difference if we put it to 140, i mean we have people that have larger avis right?

we have people with larger sigs but the avatars are set so that they are resized to fit 128 * 128

not size like that i mean the file size, so adding 10 pixels shouldnt make that much of a file size issue if we change it....that and people do tend to make their sigs bigger than 128 so it can work. i used to have avatars that were like 200kb.
