Limerlight

There's something important I'm not sure we're clear on Limer, that being, how do you feel about pizza and that's your favorite ? Or of course whether you even like it at all is no less important of course. As for me, I've yet to turn one down and I like a large variety of toppings and combinations of toppings, but what I order, buy or make if its just me or my general ideal or favorite is deep dish or pan/thick crust, medium sauce, jalapenos, extra pepperoni, extra olives and extra cheese .

I'm not so much a fan of deep dish though i guess i've never had a "proper" one, i mean it's good and all but something just lacks for me. Personally one of my faves is just the plain old thick crusted pepperoni pizza not too much cheese but enough so you see no sauce. Though i have a sweet spot for ham and pineapple Jalapenos are great on a pizza unless the people making it overload it with them then i kinda get weary and are like okay? But ideally i'd like a ranch crust (i loooveee ranch) with pepperoni, ground beef and maybe shrimp or pineapple one of the two

Well, I wasn't sure how her lactose intollerance would respond to cheese, so I figured she'd get a different initiation . But of course pizza isn't my favorite food, but since its so popular its always interresting to see people's favorite toppings or if like it. I myself would rather have three chilli dogs with jalapenos, grated cheese and onions (though that's not my favorite either). Even though of course the cute Chinese girl beating me in the contest hurt my pride a little, so they had a bad connotation, but then I asked her out and had a good time. But interresting choice Limer. I'm not a huge fan of seafood, but sounds interresting indeed and pineapple and ranch are quite nice too

¡A MI ME ENCANTA EMPANADAS! This is our pizza alternative - little filled pastries of joy... You buy a bunch of them at one time in different styles - something for everyone (unless you've got a gluten issue), but Red can have them anyways!

I reckon 6 is a good number to start with, make sure at least 1 is carne picante:

+ Great with beer!

I think i've seen something like those before, or atleast something very similar. We had a few different kinds and they were good! Very tasty And yay beer I've been drinking so little beer the past while, but i had a few this weekend so life was all good

I'm surprised Limer that you didn't say empanadas remind you of pierogi. The main difference between them seems to be dough; in empanadas it's crusty. Aaaand I don't know if you can have empanadas with a sweet filling (e.g. strawberries, blueberries etc.)? I've eaten emapanadas just once, they were delicious...

^Sure you can - in fact there are a bunch on that menu up there ("dulce" means sweet). Sweet empanadas aren't quite as common as the savoury ones, but - evidently - they exist!

Dulce de leche is our national dessert, it's a kind of runny caramel that we slather over most other cakes, pastries, pancakes, ice cream etc... So, stands to reason they'd pump it into an empanada! Membrillo is a quince paste, it's popular here - but most popular in Spain where they serve it with Manchego cheese. The other ones are variations using these two stock fillings.

Although I was tad dismissive of Limey's question(!), "empanada" originally comes from empanar which is just to wrap in bread - so anything passes really.
