Yeah, I mean, there are sexist men in every kindof group. Of course, as a side note, there are many women who are also very sexist towards women as well
. I may have responded to someone else as if they were you, but to all that inquired on the subject, I told them to go ahead although none has sealed the deal yet
. Glad you don't mind me budding in. Of course, my thread would be 60-70% smaller without side conversations ![]()

Yangtze River Turns Red and Turns Up a Mystery

For a river known as the "golden watercourse," red is a strange color to see.
Yet that's the shade turning up in the Yangtze River and officials have no idea why.
The red began appearing in the Yangtze, the longest and largest river in China and the third longest river in the world, yesterday near the city of Chongquing, where the Yangtze connects to the Jialin River.
The Yangtze, called "golden" because of the heavy rainfall it receives year-round, runs through Chongqing, Southwest China's largest industrial and commercial center, also known as the "mountain city" because of the hills and peaks upon which its many buildings and factories stand.
The red color stopped some residents in their tracks. They put water from the river in bottles to save it. Fishermen and other workers who rely on the river for income kept going about their business, according to the UK's Daily Mail.
While the river's red coloring was most pronounced near Chongqing it was also reported at several other points.
Officials are reportedly investigating the cause.
Ummm, and people bitch and moan over air, water, and land pollution controls here in the states impeding with economic growth
Either the Chinese have a brilliant idea about serving Cool-Aid to the millions downstream or Timmy Chen is about to grow a third ear

Rivers turning red, mysterious humming sound over West Seattle that sounds like something out of a 50's sci-fi film, earthquakes growing in magnitude and frequency, solar flares starting to ramp up. . . F*ck you Mayans!

My only response to both of those is that:
1. I don't believe the world is ending soon.
2. If it does, Pretty if i'm a zombie you can shoot me.
3. Dave never gave me my pics <_<

Things I want to see by the end of the year:
1. Pretty makes a panda with me (I am adamant about this!)
2. AnaBBfan makes a rap video.
3. VSFS is actually good and I can watch it alone and enjoy it ![]()
4. Dave gets me my pictures.
5. I want to meet George Bush.

This is a very strange list. lol

Have you ever known me to be normal? ![]()

True.

On more of a serious note:
Today is the anniversary of 9/11. Though I'm Canadian i think we can all agree the tragic events that happened that day still resonate with many people. I remember it still pretty clearly i was 9 years old at the time (8 days away from my birthday) and the teacher turned on the television and it's very hard at that age i thought to process what was happening, I don't remember saying anything but just wondering what really went on. As the years have gone by it's always been so close to my birthday I couldn't forget it and how it's changed so many things in our lives. I don't remember too much of pre-9/11 life especially when it comes to borders and travelling so my view is a bit skewed on the whole matter. But my thoughts still go out to the men and women of that day on the planes, in the air traffic control rooms, the towers, law enforcement, fire etc... etc... and all the families affected. It was a terrible thing that happened that day something never to be forgotten in my life time at least.

I think there are at least a few events (usually tragic) that you remember for a looooong time and will always know what were you doing at the time it happened.
I remember that 11 years ago this day my dad was listening to the radio and he thought somebody is reading some excerpts from a book. Then he turned on the tv and sadly we saw that what he heard wasn't a literary fiction but reality ![]()

Thank you for those words of remembrance Ken. I with you there in giving my deepest condolences to all those affected by the tragic events of that day that took the life's of so many innocent people from all walks of life. I still remember that day all too vividly. Usually as the first one up in the morning, and with my predictable morning routing, I turned on the TV to Good Day LA to get my usual news fix. What I saw next just had in me in silence and utter disbelief..."what the hell was going on?". As soon as that momentary shock wore off I remember running to wake up my mom to witness the horrific events underway that morning. We booth stood there, watching, not sure whether to start the day or keep witnessing an event we knew would forever change our life's. Sure enough, I was forced into going to school and once upon arrival there was this eerie sense of confusion and helplessness in the air. How does one go about that day knowing what was going on? Once classes where in session our teacher was quick to turn on the TV and the discussion begin and ran the entire day for the most part. Now 11 years later, looking back at everything and all the individual sacrifices made by so many. I hope this country learns one important lesson that we need sorely NOW more than ever. That unity, as one, we can overcome whatever adversities head our way.
