AmazingThe future is here don!
Who knew the film The Fifth Element would be a predictor in air stewardess fashion
One scoop or two? ![]()
Next stop - that hat
Marloes and Edita are forever at #1 and #2So Don, who are your current favourite models? Of course I know Marloes but who else?
Speaking of Marloes, how do you pronounce her name?
I've just recently become enamoured with Frida Gustavsson, but beyond that it's kind of the usual suspects for me:
- Andreea Diaconu
- Sarah Stephens
- Elsa Hosk
- Maryna Linchuk
- Auguste Abeliunaite
- Carola Remer
- Jessica Sikosek
- Hailey Clauson
- Bregje Heinen
- Shanina Shaik
- I could go on.. ![]()
How about you? Who's that in your avatar?
And it's Marloes "like a goose" ![]()
@ 1:18
That's very cool - they clearly have great chemistry with one another, which came out in their performance.Look what I found: The voice actors that did the Luteces! Great characters:
I know Jennifer Hale's voice well from being (female) Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect series ![]()

Amazing
One scoop or two?
Next stop - that hat
Make it a triple...oh wait, that's another movie ![]()
Oh jeez that hat!
And the dance and snort
Definitely not the best of films for its performances but love it nonetheless
Milla is in it after all :brows:
What about dat hair? ![]()

How haven't I ever heard of This 5th element movie.
Did it bomb at theatres back in 1997 or something? Looks trippy as hell. ![]()
^You've got to be kidding! ![]()
It's an absolute classic from the 90s. It's a real over-the-top and incredibly outlandish movie that was (and still is) one of the most unique of its genre. Everything from the character design, sets and costumes to the dialogue and sound design was just so strange and stylised - which is what made it so great and memorable. I think it was pretty successful, but I still think of it as a cult classic, just because it's so odd ![]()
Oh yes, and Milla ![]()

The 'Fifth Element' is very, French...sci-fi and reminds me of their intricate and unusually artistic & high quality comic books. There is definitely a lot of inspiration from that. It's the type of movie that you can catch bits and pieces many times and it doesn't get old.
Milla is much better and more original here than in 'Joan of the Arc' and her action movies. Hers is still a favorite halloween costume ![]()
Incidentally, I like both Leon the Professional and the 5th Element. (same director) District 13 was very good and innovative but not my type of film. I haven't seen most of his other films.
I believe that Natalie Portman broke into the scene with Leon. Her acting, even as a young girl, was really quite good.

The name 'Wolfenstein' has some panache to it...
It was the first computer game I ever played (early-mid 1990s) My father had bought me my first computer: a $3,000 Windows 386 and it had Wolfenstein- the first popular 3D shooter.. inside of it. I remember feeling like the luckiest boy in the world for a week or so...I mean, $3,000 in the early 1990s was the price of a used car or half of a small car.

This is coming out on May 20th. This is the first hour. It is a Nazi horror story. Video 2 is more interesting:

I hope you answered 'yes' to at least one of those
I answered yes to all of them ![]()
. Answering crazy questions with a straight face is one of my favorite pastimes
. If my profiles on you all are accurate enough, I'm going to assume that you are a gamer? Somehow I don't imagine WOW, but at least something here and there. Any genre preferences? I just noticed that there is a forum for that here, but I've never been.

You need to watch it ASAP and get back to us on the results of what your eyes just witnessed
If you like to smoke pot then I REALLY recommend you taking a few tokes before watching
Just saying ![]()

The 2009 Wolfenstein game was actually loads of fun too - very underrated. The new one has gotten mixed feedback from previews - one in particular mentioned a distinctive Tarantino influence in some of the scenes and feel of the dialogue. It looks quite cool from what I've seen - I've already preordered it ![]()

Yeah, MMOs aren't my thing - in fact I don't play many multiplayer games at all these days. I'm in for most things in terms of genre though ![]()

It does have an 'inglorious basterds' vibe. What I'm looking forward to is killing Robo-Hitler in the end...hah

I just hope the weapons look and feel as good as they did in the 2009 game ![]()

You know, historically- the German arms manufacturers did some cutting edge work during the war. Their LMG/HMG (Mg-42.MG-3) is still being used by European armies today.
The whole concept of the 'assault rifle' was a German invention. The STG-44 Assault rifle was produced at the tune of half a million and part of this total was issued to the troops by late 1944. This inspired the Soviets to order a similar design to their military engineers and thus the infamous AK-47 was born..
The unevenly distributed, elaborate and expensive FG-42 paratroop rifle was a 'proto' assault rifle in a sense.
There was also the experimental "Vampire" Infrared night vision system with backpack batteries. The US Army also developed something similar and used it in the pacific.

IMO, the aesthetics of the Wolfenstein extrapolated weapons, uniforms, robots and vehicles are a bit off. The weapons in the 1960s look very..'Hecker and Koch' ish (G-3 battle rifle, MP-5 submachinegun) rather than those produced by the WW2 firms. IIRC, Hecker and Koch was a post-war construct, built out of pieces of defunct firms that became defunct due to the war.
German engineering fads during the 1930s-1940s was all about very numerous flat slopes. The idea of sloped armor was to allow projectiles to more easily shatter or deflect if they struck the surface. I liked the 1960s open-topped nazi car, though. It's just about right.
The Uniforms look too comic book ("Hydra") and not historical enough (Prussian style, Great War, German military tradition).
I think that the International version of Wolfenstein will be illegal in Germany. The Swastika is banned and the horror things depicted in the game would certainly insult those of the (mostly passed away) WW2 generation.

Just realized from looking at the concept art and screens: the Game is likely to have a Nazi Moonbase segment and the Nazi woman resembles a character from grindhouse flicks like 'Ilsa, She wolf of the SS'.

So answer me this...does it go from left-to-right or right-to-left? ![]()

Both perfectly viable paths
Something tells me they're perfectly fine with being on the comic book side of thingsIMO, the aesthetics of the Wolfenstein extrapolated weapons, uniforms, robots and vehicles are a bit off. I'm pretty sure all the Wolfenstein games have been banned in Germany too.

It looks more steampunk than nazi to be frank :-p They could have used a historical consultant as this topic is well worn. There was even a film and popular novel called 'Fatherland' that covered the same topic. There are also, more morbidly, some Nazi wet dream lovers and novelists that have published on the same topic.

"Hitler won the war" has been the basis for many alternate universe novels.
