Donbot,
I've enjoyed 3 games in the last 10 years:
1. Call of Duty: United Offensive (around 2003 or 2004?)
2. Blitzkrieg (around the same time period)
3. Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad (2012)
You could try #3. I bought it for only $9.50.
I'm certainly atypical: I look for games that bring my 'military knowledge' to life, and the above 3 succeeded in doing so in partial ways.
The first game is a 'hollywood'-ish mashup of every WW2 movie ever made. And thus turned into a multiplayer game.
The second game is niche game, which involves controlling a reinforced armored battle group- about battalion sized in WW2.
The third game simulates some of the battles of Stalingrad, including such landmarks as: 1. Red October Tractor Factory 2. Fallen Fighter's Square 3. Pavlov's House 4. The Grain Elevator , etc. etc. w/ a multiplayer.
It's organized as a platoon vs. platoon.
I still play the third game sometimes, but I only play three or four of the maps.

This was indeed a pleasure for my ear holes. And my eyeballs. I'm loving every second of it. Never too much rouge, ever.
I just love how the song's pitch flows perfectly with her tone. You really get a sense of just how much range this talented women has. The only thing I disagree with is that the song is not long enough

A quick brush up with summer once again :yuckky:
I love the sun...but so fond of rainy days
I want to be out in the pool floating as the rain drops hit my head...love that

Interesting
I tried RO2 a few months back when they had it on a 'play for free' weekend. It was okay, but didn't really interest me a whole lot. I've played all of the Call of Duty series apart from the third one, which was only released on PS2.
Overall, RO2 is much better than COD in both historical accuracy (equipment, movement, tactics, ranges) and gameplay. The game engine is just a lot better. But as of right now- it's only a niche game, with only 300-1,000 people playing globally at any given time. Many, if not most of these people are military history buffs or ex-military. There are a handful of servers- maybe 2 or 3- that have people who are interested in infantry tactics.
So I consider RO2 to be the only action game that gives the player the "Front-line feeling" of an infantry fight.(sometimes, at least) The maps are modeled after the real thing, and the equipment allocations loosely mirror reality. I like to pop in every now and then, and do a round or two.
But overall, though, it's a very much an underfunded 'prototype' that is based off of good ideas. I still consider it to be a half-made product that badly needs another development cycle.
Here are my favorite maps:
1. Winterwald- German assault troops attack an uphill forrest, and attempt to route several layers of Soviet defense. The base camp is the final capture objective. Russians tasked with defending, and counterattacking if positions are overtaken.
2. Mamayev Yurgan- Resembles a piece of Leningrad campaign. German combat engineers attack Soviet bunkers and trench system.
3. Commissar's House- Soviet infantry, supported by armor, attempt to retake several buildings from the Germans.
4. Bridges of Druzhina- Soviet infantry, supported by armor, attempt to cross a bridge, attack through a forest, and assault the German-held village.
5. Red October Tractor factory- Map with a 'hell on earth' feel, Soviets attack, Germans defend key houses and key places in the ruins.
Interesting approach to gaming though - almost like you're treating it like a simulation more than anything <_<I wonder if you'd be interested in the Total War series at all. I've not played any, so I'm not really sure how historically rich and/or accurate they are, or even if they cover any of the periods you're interested in. But still, you never know. I see them come up in the Steam sales all the time http://en.wikipedia....otal_war_series
The war that would draw the most interest from me, in terms of gaming, is the Eastern Front 1941-1945. It's the period that fascinates me the most.

Rain is great, but the wind that is accompanying it always sucks! You would freeze in that pool sooner than you´ll say Ice bear!
How are winters there at you home?

I'm going to yank the tampon right out of her to use it as an earplug! ![]()

Now time for the goats:

That wind factor can sure be a bitch on the skin eh? Even though we don't have subarctic temperatures here, when a chill is in the air...and then you have that wind blowing, gosh dam does that crack the hell out of my skin if I'm not careful.
And the winters here...very mild. Mediterranean climate here for the most part. So aside from rain, nothing more then that here. Occasional rare hailstorm when the conditions are just right but no bone chilling blizzards. Heck, you can go out in shorts and a top in the middle of our winter season. How mild they are for the most part. Sorry to rub the last part in

Any snow in your area yet Jennka?
No snow yet, thanks god - we´re actually getting quite beautiful autumn weather today
and they say it should last for another two weeks, so I´m happy ![]()

Ah sweet! More time to work on the cottage, tan, and no worries about commuting to work with a bunch of wackos speeding in the snow ![]()
I've seen one to many YouTube videos about people driving in the snow from your general region of the world

Oh yeah, it can get snowy around here for sure - it´s impractical for people but hell, so beautiful to look at. When you sit outside, sip a hot tea and listen to that quiet, silent world around you, you can really feel nature sleeping.
Just not the wind, please ![]()
