What about this spam wave that has been going on for some time now?
It didn't occur in the past with such intensity... We get report messages almost everyday, can something be done to prevent it? For example, I think there is a possibility of making the registration process more complicated so as to prevent spam accounts from being created... What do you think?
i dunno wat we would add to the registration in order to stop spam
all i can think of is to create an announcement sayin listen spammers...ur spam is gonna be deleted within minutes of ur post so dont even bother hahaha

umm and i think the spam has been increases due to the obvious increase in traffic on the forum
Here is an idea WFT has been trying and it has decreased the spam somewhat. Members needs to have validation via email and through admin approval. It might be harder to do here since members don't have to provide a lot of info, unlike at WFT you can fill out a bunch of BS <_< However that BS info has helped to identify the spammers (don't tell Carsten I said that b/c then he can use it against me deleting his stuff 
) Also most of the spammer use the same email domain like "web.de" or "@xxx.ru" so that might be a way to id them.
yea i kno wat ur talking about...its an option the board comes with...but that means i'm gonna have to keep up with it everyday haha

just letting yall know that I changed the board settings so that people have to verify there email once they register to BZ cuz this whole spam thing is getting way out of hand. Hopefully this will help a bit to reduce that. Anyways carry on

Are spammers immediately banned after their first post or do they only have their posting ability suspended? Just a question.
Well I have been suspending their posting abilities until an admin can ban them
^ I like that idea. Since there are so many of them, it is hard to keep up with the banning :|
So suspend their posting abilities, and we'll get around to bannage...eventually 
When i get around to it, i go through and ban the lot of em. One post or 5...i don't care. Spammers need to have their skin peeled off and their bare nerve endings poked with hot sticks.
...but that's just me.
