With russian models, my favorite is Sasha (note how she looks a bit like Bree).  I think Russia has much of the most beautiful models.

I considered the bolded the most striking and the best at modeling.

Russia as INDEED some of the most beautiful models of the industry nowadays, Russia should thanks them better than they do now, in taking care of young models, giving them more protection etc...

But i have to say also that they are not the most fun, they have their own style, and it took me some years before to really appreciate them...

Central Europe has also some of the most beautiful models, Hungary particularly, Czech, Poland etc...

European models have something special that most of the northern Americans don't have, this wild side on them is very charming imo

What's the wild side?

To me, I just like their looks better- it could be because of overexposure to western looks. Generally they have wider set eyes and higher cheekbones.   (of the west, I like the baltics and dutch models the best).  A woman like Eniko, Eva or Vlada have a supernatural sort of look to them- which is something that's more intense than the western models.

Mhhh...how to explain, i find europeans (and some south- Americans too) models something more spicy and cooler than Americans ones for exemple..less cold or idk...

But yes i agree with what you said too !

Google Katarina Olendzskaia, Emily Shaw and mike dowson.  (nudity warning).  I have a gallery of Mike's work but I haven't posted it here because it's all nudes.  I have no idea where he finds these unusual women- does he travel to another dimension and bring them back to earth?  He has a website, lots of stuff on tumblr as well.

Oh i know all of them Very well I think some of his photography are photoshoped to make the pictures (and the bodies too) even more surrealists...The makeup and the lights too are used in a special way...If you look for more about his models, if you find something, i think lots of them are just amateur models, well you immediately noticed that theyr are beautiful but normal too, less surrealists at least... Do you know Helga Lovekaty ?

Those models have perfect bodies and are too busty to be working as models, lol.  Emily and Katarina are physically amazing.  I have no idea how it is possible for breasts to be shaped so perfect..  and they don't look like implants.  The other one is a tall brazilian type model that's a few inches shorter than a door.  She reminds me of Flavia de oliveria.  You're right, his photography style makes them more erotic.

Yes, Helga to me is like Emily Rat.  The face is quite plain but the body is good.  I think her body is better than Emily's in fact.

Honestly, Emily's body is pretty much perfect, we can criticize her face, and i get that some people  find her unattractive, but for me her face is chaming !

As i said, i'm very careful with these models we can see over the net, hard to know if they are real or very nicely photoshoped... I give them the benefit of doubt though

Too beautiful to be true lol

Emily's body is extremely petit- her curves are deceptive.  It is noticeable when she stands next to other people.  Xenia Deli is also very petite.

In the US I often see Xenia on the Guess/Bebe store walls.  That SI model with big bust/naturally tan skin/big curly hair represents this brand.."garage?"  I don't recall.  Hmmph, and Hanna Ferguson is the face of Somau intimates (lingerie).

This latest one should have some things you would like http://www.bellazon.com/main/topic/58357-cult-icons-junkyard-the-contents/#entry3824201

Oh i like petite type of girls and models, it's not a probleme at all for me. I find that quite cute !

In France In the Guess shops, they use more Natasha or Megan for the walls. But the best street walls i ever saw so far, one of the best, that was the last campaign of Calzedonia with Sara Sampaio, it was just impressive.

Do you like Rose Bertram ?

You're welcome.

Yes, it was Rose.  Rose is OK.  I'm not into that kind of hair.  I would like her more if she had straight hair.

Hmmph, that's all the SI models I know are currently being used.

Yesterday I saw Alex Morgan on the walls of an eyeglass store.

IMO, Rose was the main event of the last SI issue ...I'm not either into that kind of hair, but blonde like hair, and with her body, it's pretty cute i find !

Yes here too, Guess is a bit everywhere, perfumeries, clothes shops, eyeglasses shops etc ...

Do you have some expectations for the next SI ? The last one was pretty boring...

Also, Marciano (the guess dress store) has a lot of Xenia.

Guess clothing is very gawdy.  Marciano and their line of women's dresses  remind me of Versace.  It is designed to be very flashy and sexual.

With SI, I really don't know.  I just find most of their models (as you say), boring.  Eniko looks good- but I don't know if she'll be considered a fit.  I liked Erin- although the photoshop is bad last time I think she's beautiful.   At this moment I can't think of anybody else.

Too bad i don't have it in my town, i would like to see Xenia I guess they grouped it with the Guess shop.

Well IMO? GUess is the new Levis, before Levis was leader for this kind od outfits, but now it desappeared ...weird, i even wonder if there's still a Levis store in my town, maybe downtown...

Yes i feel many people are like you now... SI need better photographers, new blood (more rookies etc...) and to change the way of they are promoting or need to improve their online material, with a better site or idk...

Though, i hope Nicole Meyer, Xenia Deli and some others will be In But i need this one day in the lienup :

That's the most erotic picture of Candice I've seen in a long time.  It's the boots mostly IMHO!

That's interesting that you say that about Levi.  Levi is known to brand itself differently in the US than overseas.  Levis is merchandised  as boring utility jeans with supposedly "decent" quality.  It can found in most department stores.  I've seen the overseas stores and it is very different.

The Guess stores in the US is mostly for women I think. Perry Ellis kind of fits with them, but it is mostly for men.  Bebe is also quite gawdy.

SI used to just hire top models to get it done.  I can kind of see how it's both good and bad (good in terms of: they get the quality.  bad in terms of- we've seen these girls so many times before!)

They interview so, so many girls that obviously won't make it in.  It looks like they are wasting shareholder funds with busywork LOL.  Maybe the woman in charge needs to pretend that she & her staff are doing work!

Yeah i noticed the boots too They are perfect ! And i have big espectations for this new shoot of Adam Franzino, now i saw that.

When i was younger Levi's was super trendy, but now, honestly people prefer Diesel or Guess, even if those are very expenssive...but not much more than Levi's ones.

They are now in the same situation than Benetton ...

Well i don't mind HF models in Si, i would love to see Blanca or Eniko doing SI ! I find SI a bit "tacky" in some aspects, idk, always the same models, the same locations, and YU TSai everywhere, EVEN in the Videos LOL I think MJ forgot to who she is trying to sell this magazine...

I think SI need to ask to MJ to let the chance to someone else, more NEW lol to impulse a new energy to SI... And not Darcie, SI is not the Soviets Union LOL

On my reading list, I have by the "Blitzkrieg Legend, 1940" by Frieser (an official Bundeswehr historian who also headed the "German and WW2" official research project) to read by end of the year.    I also have the Halder war diary for France 1940 (Halder was the chief of the german general staff).  I dunno, you would probably be interested in these sources.

I've never seen Benetton store before.  I personally don't like wearing jeans. :-p I find the material uncomfortable (it absorbs sweat badly, too) and I don't like the look very much.

Yeah I would like to see HF models in SI although they will be considered too thin !  Of this generation of top models, I haven't put thought into who would be work it well.  Of the SI top HF models, I liked Anne V and Hilary Rhoda the most.  Before that, it was AnaBB.  Maybe there was others? I don't recall offhand.

SI has been a bit of a downer since 2008/2009 ish for me.  I dunno, I don't expect much that's new after years of that.  But they are like Alex Morgan's gym selfies- they'll post casting calls all the time just to keep their magazine in our minds.  Yea, unless MJ and others are replaced, the magazine is likely to not have dynamic change going forward.

Yes, definitely, these two books seems to be good sources, i already heard about halder war diary !

Benetton shops are boring, and it's very expenssive for what they are selling ...

And in my side, i really like Jeans, maybe the look is not the best, but for everydays outfit, i find them practicals.

I never get Anne V... She never caught my look..The two others were more intereting yet. I don't another ones, but i follow VS only since 4~5 years so...

Do you have some ideas of who could replace MJ and her team ?

Yep! I am cynical about the economics of retail/fashion/clothing.  I know the material and labor costs are a couple of percentage points of the retail price.  Outside of the luxury market, it is to the point where brands know that much or most of their product will be bought during a sale.  A pair of plain jeans   or khakis of disposable quality should not be $60 USD like it usually is.

Also, the marketing/mechanizing is very much shifted towards a high turnover cycle (overpriced clothing of mediocre/shoddy quality designed for short life span) rather than quality designs & construction.  In the USA, "GAP" is a common store.  The items in there are incredibly boring.  Uniqlo from Japan is rising.  It is noticeable that this business uses color diversity/rapid turnover to make up for the much smaller number of item types.

Yea with Anne V/BZ I feel like I'm one of her few fans.  During her prime (SI 2000s) I found her body so attractive and well balanced.  She has the perfect height to me.  She has beautiful legs and a friendly face.   I think people generally find her boring, though.

I don't know who can replace MJ .  I haven't put thought into that- I usually assume that we are stuck with this woman.  Do you know?

This girl should do a lot more:
