So far no, i never visited the Memorial, or Caen itself, but of course i would like to. They opened it when i was still in middle school, and through the years, it seems it stays quite popular, stable, so it's a good thing !

Well, as you can imagine and say by yourself, in France these facts are seen like the black spot of the Liberation time...My father was born, already, he was very young, but has some bad memories from the bombing over the town...For exemple, he always told us that Americans bombed the hospital (by mystake?) whereas it wasn't a stategic place in the tonw at all...

But the destruction overal were not the big, Normandy suffered the most, Caen, and especially Le Havre too, who was almost totally destruct.

Nowadays Le Havre is even better than before imo, some place there are just wondeful so, all that is memory now. It's not that much important anymore.

Thanks for that.  Yes, it's been a long time and also the battle of normandy was long ago.  I would like to see the positions of the battles- Caen and Falaise in particular.  My personal view is that the campaign to liberate france went on too long and could have been cut short.

I've been reading 'The Blitzkrieg Legend' as of late, and that material facts were that the allies had 2 times more artillery, 2 times more tanks, more men but fewer operational planes.  The German army used was in fact quite underdeveloped compared to the one in June 41- Sedan and the battle of france was disproportionately carried by just 16 elite divisions supported by the air force while the rest of the 140 odd divisions did a lot less, spending most of their time marching into territory won by the elite divisions.  Many barely fired their weapons.  Only 20% of the german army were regulars while the rest were of lower standards.  About half of the personnel in the army had only 2 months or less training and half were over the age of 40 !  The average german division was worse equipped than the french and much worse than the BEF.

Second, the book aims to show that there was no such thing as a "blitzkrieg" strategy.  The term was just maneuver warfare. Germany was not yet ready for large wars yet, and much of its potential was not yet mobilized.  They were expecting a much longer war.  Then the breakthrough at sedan, which sealed the victory in two weeks- was seen as a miracle by the germans and changed everything. It increased their ambitions to extreme levels.

The word "blitzkrieg" was a buzzword rarely used in the german miltary in the mid 1930s.  Journalists in 39/40 started using it and it spread like wildfire.

The 'Sickle cut" plan was drafted by Manstein (with Guderian acting in an advisory capacity).  Halder, chief of the general staff (I have his war diaries on France 1940- it's 130 pages long) kicked Manstein into a field command and took over the execution of the plan (while passing it as his own after the campaign was won).

LOL, I love the Monsters mini-figure set! You could recreate Michael Jacksons "Thriller video" Lego style

Ahaha wow, the Ghostbusters car takes the cake bud and my pop-tarts too! The fact they even have their hair right just made me laugh even more
You MUST buy the Ghostbusters car amigo, a must have for the collection!

Freaking Lego! They had to go ahead and get in the Bazinga set didn't they? My Christmas list could easily be a mile long at this rate. Hmm, maybe they should make a VSFS Lego set. They would save a ton on materials cuz the models are uber thin for the show. They could have the fantasy bra Lego piece and you could stick on the model of your choice. Maybe that way Behati will finally get the FB and walk the catwalk for once Oh, and let's not forget the Taylor Swift Lego piece that is attached directly to Karlie Kloss's ass

no, lol, I just causally watch the stuff on youtube (usually cut scenes and then I scroll through youtube walkthroughs) It's unusual but games are too stressful for my schedule to handle.  I learned from an early age that playing games increases stress and cuts out my sleeping time, so I quit for the most part.  However, I come back to it as  I enjoy the artwork and the world crafting.

I took a look at "Assassin's creed syndicate" a few days ago and they build a early 20th century/late 19th century version of london.  It's quite interesting to look at.

Charlotte looks great here:  http://www.bellazon.com/main/topic/51369-charlotte-mckinney/page-47#entry3892521

not sure if you're interested, but this is the launch trailer for Fallout 4

Fallout4 looks interesting, but the next Call of Duty seems to be better ...I never was disappointed by CoD, of course it's all about the multiplayers mode.

Assassin's Creed is a good serie as well, the one in Paris was as much fun ! Always effective.

Charlotte is fun, i follow her news, but i'm too much into her these days

They're very different- COD is a multiplayer/cinematic shooter, FO4 is an large scale open world RPG that based its appeal on worldbuilding and lore- the fantasy of a post-nuclear world and what life would be like.  The franchise has a rabid fanbase from what I've seen.  FO4's marketing hype for it is ridiculous, and kind of funny at the same time- I saw the leaks yesterday and the graphical quality falls quite short, and short compared to say CD-Red's witcher 3.  It is up to the gameplay and story to pull the product through.

Never saw that one.  Assassin Creed's London design is very well done and there are interesting cameos by Karl Marx, Charles dickens, street buggies, good npcs, etc.

Yea, she has little content as of late.  I see her presence in the modeling world as a big middle finger to the mainstream.
