Pretty good , just some on going problems with our apartment.

We have been having some major leakage coming through our ceilings from the apartments above ours and the maintenance guys had to tear out our ceilings.

Then they decided that it would be a smart idea to go ahead and spread some sealant or something all over the place in the apartment above us. So all of these toxic vapors are coming down through the holes in our ceiling.

Their suggestion for us, was to leave the apartment until the vapors dissipate, which they told us at 10am, and the vapors are still pouring through our ceiling.

So I guess they want us to just stand out in the parking lot until the vapors go away.

I went and looked at the can of sealant they were using, and it had all kinds of warnings on the can about prolonged inhalation of the contents.

Tingling skin, burning/itchy eyes, nausea/vomiting, high fever, blistering of the skin, all that good stuff you know.

Not to mention the long term side effects of breathing in too much, such as Kidney failure, Liver dysfunction, heart trauma, and lung disease.

We have no where to go, so we are just hoarding in the bedrooms until the vapors go away.

Other than all that crap, I'm great.

Be careful.   You won't ruin anything as long as you have your old driver to reinstall if this one fails.

Also It could be something else entirely. If everything else on your computer looks just fine (things are the right size, shape and colors), but the only thing your having trouble with is videos, it may not be your card at all.

well, some things did change... like the size of fonts and everything. i think it changed becuase in my properties, i changed the size of the screen to 1280x1024 becuase that is the size of my computer... and when i fooled around with it and put it back on my old size of the screen, my vlc player worked... then when i put it back on this size, it's not working. do you have any other suggestions mikey? by the way, i really appreciate your help. thank you. oh, and i haven't made an attempt to fix the video card. i'm afraid to.

Hmm.. If you can view videos when your monitor is at a lower res, but not when you switch it to a higher res, it probably has to do with a display adapter then. In which case you may have to update your display driver to a new one that supports your new monitor. If Microsoft supports your monitor, they may have the driver you need available for download.

You can try to troubleshooting the problem, Right Click desktop, and go to properties. Then select your settings tab. You should see a Troubleshoot button, near the bottom. It will give you a list of things that you can try to do to get things running smoothly again.

When I open my troubleshooting display, the second option to choose is, "I have no video, or I get a stop message indicating a missing or corrupt driver" . Yours should look something similar to that. It could help you figure out what is going on with your computer.

It's difficult to help when you're not right there looking at it you know, Hopefully you are able to get somewhere with it, I know how much it sucks not to be able to see the video you wanna see, I had a similar problem the last time my computer crashed. Not too fun.

your using middle eastern mentality capt...when all else fails...hit it with something....i remember our old sony tv wouldnt last 15 years if we didnt hit it.

Seriously, it's sound advice , most of the time you can get good use out of a busted item just by beating the hell out of it, to show it who's in charge and all.

I had a tv like that too, one of those ones in a big wooden box, used to go on the fritz, and I just pick something up and launch it at the fucker, Right back to normal

Surprisingly, they are no longer fumigating us. :yuckky: The vapors sort of tapered off last night, and thankfully they are done with whatever it is they were doing upstairs.

Now we just have to wait for them to come along and finish plastering up our ceiling. <_< They had our water shut off all day fixing leaks all around the building, so that was some fun.

Finally got myself the new Harry Potter book. , too busy at the moment to read though, as I got this magazine in the mail today, and am in the process of scanning it.

I just got up off of my bedroom floor, after sitting in the same position for the last hour or so, I understand where your coming from.

there is no cushion on my chair...and i have been on it for a few hours...in about an hour i will have to make a human chair.
