Yes, jobs and money
. I mean, they are making money, maybe not all of them are making tons of it, but they are getting paid. That's a benefit. With that said, i truly don't understand why people are still arguing about it and saying "No".
Jesus Christ.

Yeah, I think you could regard being a pornstar as having a legitimate job. If there's a demand for something, then there's always room for doing business and making money. And there's always going to be demand for sex
Nevertheless, I do think that doing porn is kinda degrading. For example, I can't think highly of Jenna Jameson (at least in every respect) - even if she's made millions of dollars - beacuse I realize that she earned money by having sex on screen. I admire her business skills, but morally speaking - she's a slut ![]()
If we're talking benefits, then it's only money, I guess. Doing porn is not beneficial - morally, nor socially. It brings contempt (somewhat hypocritical) and questionable respect.
By the way - does anybody know the girl in my avatar? ![]()
Lol, Fred disagrees.
Lol, Fred disagrees.
With who? You?

The main problem is the pure objectification of women in 95% of all pornography and the fact that the entire industry has skewed towards that type of porn that is most humiliating and painful/uncomfortable to the female "performers".

pain? .. uncomforatable? .. AAWWW.. you mean women are not enjoying it as much as they moan and beg for more like they do? ![]()

LOL? I think those women enjoy being paid well more than anything else.
By the way, those porn moans crack me up ![]()

^^^ Me too.. I wonder if any one thinks that is real. ![]()

It's also an urban legend that these women make a fortune. A fortunate few do, but most make enough to get by on. Having said that, porn is very much a career of diminished returns, except for those starlets that can manage to cross over into mainstream to some extent. So after a year or ten, most of these women are done, but they haven't nearly made enough to retire.

Well I don't think too many people really believe the average porn star makes a "fortune" out of it, however they certainly make a lot more than they would doing some of the more intellectual and skilled jobs. I wouldn't say most make enough "to get by on", I mean, just because they're not buying second homes or driving around in Aston Martins doesn't mean they don't make a fair bit out of it. Most of them probably wouldn't be doing it otherwise. There is a definate appeal of money in porn.

I thought most of the people who get into porn are sex addicts and/or are making a little extra money for college. I can see the ones who make it to the main stream making it a career and even eventually become producers or directors. I would say at those levels is where the money would be more lucrative.

The money is good for a relatively short period of time unless they achieve some sort of following in their "prime". 80% of the women in porn fall into the fuck-em and chuck-em category for the porn producers.

Most never make it to that stage. The lucky ones leave the business with a little money saved but few career prospects.
Why is everybody always defending women in porn industry? Even when it comes to money they are making, like you guys are doing right now. Everybody, unless you are some delusional 17 year old girl, knows that they don't make fortunes. But, the thing is that male actors make less than female actresses, on average. Nobody's bringing that up for some reason.

Perhaps because this thread is specifically about women working in porn? ![]()

Trying to justify their masturbation habits, perhaps?

wrong. as i already said, why women couldn't enjoy the pornography ? pleasure couldn't be a benefice ? the title talk about all the women and not only porno actress
maybe if they make prono movies, it's because they enjoy it ?
how could we say "actress don't like their jobs"? , "women don't like pornography" ?
this is a shame and a regression for women as girls have pleasure only in a bed with their boyfriend.
it's like masturbation. it's a taboo and when women talk about it, this is only to excite men or have the felling to be "cool" and liberate in front of their friends.
women are very hypocrite and spend their time to complain about their own problems, play the victims, and don't take care of the rest. as i already said, the gay pornography isn't better! and when people talk about pornography, they spend their time to repeat the same thing because they have the feeling this is intelligent and they say the good answer... they don't try to understand the positive and the negative. in french, in is what i call "une reponse bateau". have a superficial answer and follow the majority without a real reflection like a little sheep.
by the way, on internet, there are a lot of amateur videos and these women can put their videos only for the pleasure to be watched... same thing with webcam or website for sex meeting.
it's just horrible to see people make a drama on sexuality freedom as they can't respect people's choice and don't take care of important things like ecology or organ donation.
yes maybe some girls don't like their jobs... but this is a JOB... so of course some people love it and others don't.
in same time, i don't know people able to keep the same job all their life and always happy to work... but this is their choice. as people said, porno actress don't win a lot of money... so maybe if they really want and if they didn't like pornography, they could find another job with a same pay...
and i think, this is the same here with models. nobody know if girls models enjoy to be in bikini, take the poses during hours and in the end, people have masturbation if front of their pictures and say "woah that's hot" and don't take care of their own pleasure... this is not because they smile on the pictures that they love it... but this is a job and this is their choice.
everyone has a different way to escape to the reality and fantasme can be a solution as drug, sport or video games...
I imagine everyone who's posted in this thread has watched porn at some point. Obviously there's a difference between being overly moralist about it and simply recognising the industry's problems.
