Yes I remember that! Probably because she is dating Leo. She is a good model but they should have done this for former angels

Vita Sidorkina just posted a #tb pic of herself on the vsfs, and made it clear that she thinks Adriana was perfect for show opening.

I understand i wanted Candice or Adriana for open the show, but people need to know it's  a new team now, no monica ,no ed, no sophia anymore and Gigi is now their high model, i dont  know what's  contrat Candice  has with them but pretty sure that Adriana has no contract with them anymore. And it's a new era.

I didn’t think she was bad but definitely not great, especially for an opener. I believe most people are upset bc they were anticipating one of the former Angels or someone with a strong walk to open. Not to mention, people stigmatize and have negative opinions about “Nepobabies” and Influencers. This is very prevalent in the fashion and model fandom world. Also the fact she was followed by Imaan, who is a strong walker, it just made Gigi’s look worse than it actually was.

Maybe I wasn't paying attention to the finale, but notice how neither of the angels were huddled together? Was Behati with Candace or were they separated? I don't even recall if Adriana stuck with Alessandra, but what I do remember is seeing Jo, Jas and Taylor together at the very far back, with Irina to Jo's right. 

You would think... after spending 4 years away from the brand, all former angels would relish the chance to reunite with one another, but it felt more like some of them were in the same place, same time with no connection. Granted, I don't think Alessandra and Adriana were super close to Candace and Behati, or the latter with the new angels, but it went from sharing some shots together to completely mingling with their own posse. Really highlights the distance between them. At one point, you might start wondering, were these girls ever close when they were Angels?

^ I don't think they ever were as close as the "new generation" of Angels were. Jasmine and Jo even have a company together, that pretty much sums up with how close they are.

Candice and Behati were together in the finale. Ale and Adri to me were never really friends  or that's what it always looked like to me. But that's ok, I'm not friends with most of my collegues, but we are very respectful and nice to each other!

I was surprised I didn't see Candice with her "gang" much (Joan, Irina, Doutzen) I think definetly something happened with her, she was pisssssssed.

Sorry to cut. But Imaan is aldready one of their high model, she had multiples shooting with them for photos , commercial video etc like Gigi, Taylor, grace, Mayowa, Paloma, Jill, Devyn,  even Candice. It will be interesting  to see who will continue  with VS next year. 

I wonder if they will ever bring the Angel concept back? But with body/racial/age diversity

I have zero proof of this -literally none, this is a 100% made up by me theory- but my thought is that Candice was perhaps promised to open/close the show and the plan was changed last minute? Not saying she didn't look great, she did, she was one of the highlights of the bight for sure but something was most definitely off with her. Her vibe was off backstage, she looked pissed the whole time -gorgeous, but pissed-, skipped the after party and even social media game about it has been off. It'll be interesting to see if she works with VS again soon

I think you're right, I think she was promised to open but they cancelled it last minute

That might be it or at least part of it, but I get the feeling it could be something more. It seems it's more than just a matter of her opening/closing the show. Perhaps (this is all hypothetical) she was promised other things but VS either didn't [fully] deliver, backed out, or changed their minds late in the game or after agreements were finalized.

Not sure but maybe something to do with compensation, payment, or other specific perks/exclusives. I just don't get the sense it is just one thing.
