First Light
Bombshell
PINK Halftime Show
Hot Pursuit
Magic Hour
Black Tie

At a glance - Wow. The brand really made a joke outta their 2024 comeback that they managed to turn it into their own glamorous niche.
Yay to bringing back familiar and iconic faces befitting of the brand. They brought back most of the powerhouses for the opening segment and nailed it, then it just went a little downhill from there. Also, not that Kpop band for PINK lel. Is that Red Velvet?
Clearly, the new management has no issues reusing wings and certain accessories for different segments. Looks like they're focusing less on wing productions and placing the budget into everything else.

i'm back on this account just for this show. that karol g segment was fire

Damn. It was really TWICE? I think I did see Nayeon or whatever her name is in there but I wasn't sure. Think Tzuyu was there too?

Thanks Pink!
I miss all the BTS videos, the fitting one, the trends one ohh ![]()
Am I the only one who thinks Barbara is never really highlighted by Victoria’s Secret in their shows? She’s always been super loyal to the brand and very well-liked — she was even an Angel, let’s not forget that?

Agree
I miss body by Iza 😆

Watching this now, so here are my delayed thoughts on the whole thing:
Law Roach on the Pink carpet? WELL YES. 10/10, no notes, I love Law and he can do no wrong in my eyes, bring him back next year and every single year. But also, I don't care for the pink carpet so I did skip most of it and I'd be more than okay if they don't do it at all next year.
Jasmine opening the show was beautiful, but very, very low energy and I wish they had opened with a different segment to set a high tone and then have Jasmine come out opening a second or third segment.
Outfits were miles better than last year and the styling was also beautiful in most of the girls. Personally, I don't mind the recycled wings as long as they recycle the right wings. The Pink segment was horrendous but we knew that would be the case, so not surprised about it.
The standouts lookwise to me were Adriana, Candice, Bella, Barbara, Imaan, Anok, Diane and Yasmeen. I will say not a single of the other newcomers impressed me but I also didn't hate the casting (besides the inclusion of the non-models), Bella should have not had those wings for the closing though, she was obviously uncomfortable with those and it killed the moment, those wings should have been on someone who could handle them like Alessandra. I won't name too many names but some of the girls just need to retire, they've lost their spark and/or excitement and it really shows with Doutzen and Gigi being the prime example of just feeling washed and with no energy IMO compared to Candice who has walked as many times or more than them but still delivered.
The music was... there. While the songs matched the energy of the segments, none of the three performers could actually sing, it was painful to hear. Missy Elliot was great though, perfect to close the show and whoever mixed the the music for the segments without performers did amazing, my soul left my body when they played Toxic by the legendary Miss Britney Spears. I did love having Karol G sing about Latina women with Joan closing the segment, it's just a shame Karol cannot sing.
The energy was just... not there? I really think the first segment should have been the red segment with higher energy and more powerful walks, the first segment was just not the right call for a show opening and I feel that lacklustre energy carried through the show
Overall this was better than last year and better than the last few shows they did post-2013, I enjoyed most of it and look forward to see what they come up with next year as there seems to be some improvement.s

Personally i would retire Doutzen, Stella, Lily and sorry but Adriana too. Candice, Alessandra and Behati did a great job.

Some of these models have walked so many runways they’ve worn out their own mystique. Same pout, same strut, same twirl of the hair, same finger-point to nowhere. At some point, even the most loyal fans have to admit: it’s not evolving, it’s looping.

At this point, I genuinely believe Victoria’s Secret needs a full-scale exorcism. Not a refresh. Not a rebrand. A purge.
New models, faces we’ve never seen before or are so underrated that the majority of people don't really know them.
New Angels who are young, hip, sexy and not recycled. Goodbye Grace, goodbye Taylor (your... fucking... hair). No shade, but the magic’s gone.
New photographers with a vision, not just filters.
New designers who understand silhouette and story.
New PR that doesn’t sound like it’s trapped in 2016.

Out with the old, the tired, the same walks and the kissy faces/hearts. In with something that feels alive.. unpredictable, and exciting. And as a nod to the Spooky Season 🖤 ... If VS wants to matter again, it needs to stop clinging to ghosts and start conjuring legends.
I fully agree, I miss those days that every year, I was looking for new "real" models in the show, new style, new designs, etc. I think that has been missing. I know they are trying really hard to keep the real "famous" VS brand alive by keeping some of the previous famous model in the show, but there was a reason they became an icon, like Candice, Adriana and others.
They should go back and look at history how did Candice became famous, what did VS do so good that they all became an icon. I really believe they lost that touch, that process of making icons. I'm sure there are so many new models that can easily become famous and another icon, but VS is not focusing on those, instead they think if they find famous people or name or influencer, that is enough to get people attention.

People keep saying they need new models, but every time VS brought in new models, everyone always gravitated back towards the old ones. Has everyone forgotten how that turned out?
New models are not going to be the saving grace, but kicking out influencers, short models, and having a proper blend of sizes will.
We are meant to be in awe, inspired, and "jealous" of the models. LMFAO

Maybe if VS chose models with broader, more accessible appeal, rather than these odd hybrids of high fashion severity and lukewarm conventionality....their impact would return. When Candice first hit the runway, everyone took notice. Same with Adriana. Same with Miranda. They were fresh, striking, and undeniably magnetic. It’s possible to find that again. But the current casting direction seems fixated on models who feel washed out, odd, and disconnected from the kind of beauty that resonates with everyday people. There’s a difference between editorial and genuine allure... and VS keeps missing it.

Okay, I’ll give you this... Grace has a bit more staying power. But that only happened after she ditched the short hair (which, let’s be honest, only works if it’s flawless, and not every woman can pull it off—Grace couldn’t), and added a little weight. That shift helped her stick around, but will it be enough?
******
vs.
Those are two different woman, and it's not just because of the hair and obvious weight loss. There is something missing from when she first entered the scene, and I'm saying this as one of her first fans on BZ. I praised her to all heaven and back when I first saw her in Guess and pleaded with the gods to allow her to model for VS.
Better but still missing something.

I honestly blame nepotism and social media.
Models used to be scouted. The scouts would walk around all day looking for the beauty in the crowds all over the world. I remember a show or an online video of what it takes to be a model scout and them trying to bring in new physical characteristics of models to the runway, models with "red" hair.
Anyway, they don't do any of that anymore. They would rather rely on famous offspring and the internet. The internet does not capture raw talent the same way as it does in person because you can't see the "magnetism" of the person in comparison to everyone else around them.
I also blame Ivan Bart (RIP) and Jeni Rose from IMG. They started this madness.
The reason why entertainers in general were so magnetic is that they were discovered, and most of them have a desire and passion to be there. They have better work ethics than the social media crowd and nepo models. They don't have a golden parachute like the other category of people listed above, so their "hunger" is different.
Models are meant to be plucked from the wild.
I hope the fashion world/model agencies realize this and bring it back, but the fashion industry has been anti-supermodel for decades...

All of this x330293748320

I can understand the reasoning behind those who ask to stop relying on certain models whose best days are behind them and that we shouldn't always fall back on the same names; it makes sense. But then you see many of the new models and... if those are the ones who are going to take over from Adriana, Alessandra or Doutzen, then I'll stick with the old ones.
I feel that many of the new models don't convey enough power, sensuality and charm for the show. They may have a successful career on the haute couture catwalks because other attributes are required there, but the VSFS is a different kind of show.
Perhaps, for the reasons explained by @XXMDNA, the era of supermodels is coming to an end, giving way to an era of nepo and Insta models.
