It's been very mild here most of the winter (mild being daytime highs of around 5-10C) but just over a week ago it suddenly got a lot colder (0C) and we had some snow. Temperatures are slowly rising again now.

I see the temperature in Bratislava for Monday is -4C. Is that normal for this time of year? Have you had any of the severe weather that seems to be affecting countries further east like Ukraine?

-4 is quite normal it´s been worse, through February we had even -20 at night and -16 at day... but it´s getting better, today morning was -11 and through day the temperatures get higher. On Myjava (the cottage) it was -25 at night and -16, -17 through day, hell that was freezing.

In one village in Slovakia it was record -40 Celzius, but it´s always colder in the middle and easthern part. Especially in the mountains - High and Low Tatras.

We were in woods this weekend and it was nice -11 celzius the whole weekend, but the wind didn´t blow so the cold was very bearable.

The last one is, of course, a work of art rather than a serious traffic signal. I think it's somewhere here in the UK but I can't remember where. I think it also inspired a scene in this wonderfully daft car ad.

Lovely ad

Many people don´t like her face. Though I love it, she seems more and more beautiful with each shoot

msyusg.png

Yes, Nina certainly does seem to be developing as a model. I love her face.
especially wonderful in this vid:

Agreed.
Yeah she looks very pretty in that vid.. I think being in motion does her better justice

One thing for sure is that she has the best smile

I think she has the kind of personality that comes out more in motion than in still images. I guess that may not be a good thing.
Me liking this video means that i am about two days away from my first period right?

Bwah haha Yes it's a bit girly/ a tad bit too teenie bopper, but I don't think it makes you any less of a man for liking it. You admitted it now that's manly!!

Hope that made you feel better but maybe it made you feel worse... I have a serious case of foot in mouth disease just so you know

Well, fashiondream, I really like the video too, 'just so you know'.

I agree on her personality but look, Gisele has always looked better in motion than in stills (although she knows how to work the camera and can take killer shots) - and it did not stop her, plus Nina has this gorgeous body of hers that can only make the best for her

At the least I find it polite - not saying how much I enjoy it.

So you don't enjoy it sometimes?

Oy vey on that weather Jennka. I keep overhearing stories on all that blistering cold that's smacking into Europe this winter. And how the heck does one deal with -40 Celsius I love the cold here but when the mercury dips below 10 C I feel like the bones in body are about to jump out of my own skin. Just goes to show how much a

pussy

I am when it comes to REAL cold weather. How's the snow fall in your area been so far, any record amounts?

Oh, and take this...you need it more then I do

Did you ever watch this show as a kid? It's called The Singing, Ringing, Tree and I've heard other Europeans say how it was always on during school holidays and terrified them! It is pretty creepy, in that 'dreamlike' surreal way:

I found some of them. Of course, you are to say which group is the cutoff for you. They're grouped based on the degree of muscle . I'll fill in the blanks of the other groups when I find them. I guess for exhibit A, we'll start at that girl in the famous pole vaulting pic where she's just kindof standing there looking to the side. I don't have it right now, but I bet if you type hot pole vaulter into an image search, that pic will come up . *edit* Okay, here she is...

Over 600 people in Europe are dead because of the cold :| have you seen this Kosovian girl who got rescued? They thought they'd find her dead, but she was alive.... the rest of her family is dead though

^Sadly I have heard of the huge toll the current weather in Europe has taken on many people. I can't even begin to comprehend the emotions that must be running thru that poor girls mind at the moment.

Why i just wish her and everyone out there the best during these winter storms.

I remember The Singing, Ringing, Tree and, yes, it was a bit scary. It was one of a number European children's series imported by the BBC in the sixties and seventies. They didn't seem to make their own drama series then, just imported other peoples.

You've really got me wallowing in nostalgia now. Three series from that era particularly stick in my mind. The Aeronauts was one of my favorites. It about a pair of crime fighting french fighter pilots. Although a bit girlie I quite liked The White Horses too. This followed the adventures of a teenage girl on her uncles stud farm. I think I just fancied the girl really. It was so popular that the theme song became a UK top 10 hit. I also remember, but didn't particularly like, The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe. It just seemed to go on for ever without very much really happening.

There are times when I don´t enjoy it, yes - mostly when some kind of argument is on (I really do not like arguing) or some misunderstood involved and I also don´t like when I make myself look like a fool

Awww thank you

As for the snow - here in Bratislava (thanks God) we don´t have much of it, but out in the villages there are real "calamities" - around 2 meters of snow - however the people who live in those areas do not consider it exceptional, so... dunno we have had such amount of snow in Bratislava in 1986 (when I was born ) and around 1992? Don´t remember it well.

Well, I guess it´s all about acclimatization - one really gets used to it. And it´s always a different winter when it´s -40 - the wind doesn´t blow, snow doesn´t fall, the humidity is 0 - you don´t feel THAT cold like in -16 with strong wind blowing (damn that). People who live in these areas are quite used to it, although it really sounds crazy. But they have more cruel winters in Canada and Russia - and Ukraine... and it also seems the temperatures are getting higher Today was -5

Did not hear about the Kosovian girl - what a sad story

Here it´s mostly (logically) the homeless people who die because of the cold... but such a thing happens almost every winter eventhough many people try to help them (they are allowed to sleep in trainstations and such where the heating is on) .
