Try to take a look at it and if you do, say something about it.   I finished reading it.  A lot of it is 'common sense that is not so common'.  The first half of the book was better than the rest.

About what I'm doing: I's not just public speaking that I am looking at, but in other areas as well.

I have given many presentations and talks in front of large groups and have worked on it in the past.   My usual way of preparing is to organize the talk and then do trial run-throughs with a voice recorder/camera.  But even after speech courses, they helped but I don't think that there was enough improvement.  My goals are high.

There are a lot of nuances (like use of emotional expression, humor and mental imagery) that need to be practiced at the individual level.  Besides the things I mentioned, I have considered using a speech coach.  Above all, I would like to develop better intuitive intelligence and control over my speaking and physical expression.  Just like an actor..

My spoken English - I feel fine about it. I´ve been receiving compliments, people mostly refuse to believe me when I try to convince them I´ve never been to English speaking countries. I sometimes try to keep my European accent sometimes I speak more americanish and sometimes I enjoy the awesome Brittish accent, depends on whom I am speaking to when I´m drunk, I mix languages and jump from English to Spanish to Russian and the next day I´m like "I did it again, fu*k."

Thank you for the link! Epub is ideal format for my Kindle.

And I´m glad to hear you´re trying to improve your public speaking! That is a great thing if you ask me and I consider it also very important, although many people do not pay sufficient attention to it.

When it goes to speaking in front of a group of people, I´m totally lost. With my introvert tendencies and general shyness, I´m the worst person you could pick for a public talk. Unless I´m at least little drunk

You can get over it pretty easily.  The first couple of talks are very nervous but after that, you get accustomed to it.  The issue then becomes in terms of impact, impression, and inspiration.

Have you heard of TED talks? They are all on youtube.  Many, if not all of them were made with some professional guidance so the speeches are very well done and inspiring.

I also think that for her, the fashion is like a family now. She knows all the relevant people so she just repeat working with those she likes the most, like when you´re visiting your friends

Super class? None, as I see it. I cannot see anyone now (and the forced assumptions some people are trying to make about future supermodels just come out as pretty lame for me) and seeing that the industry has diametrally changed from what it used to be, now it´s more about social media hype and money than exclusivity, and no one can blame the girls. The age of Supers is gone, and it might come back in future, but not now. Modeling has become just another business with LOTS OF topmodels and HELLA lot of models, but no supermodels. And I don´t see anything bad about it. It´s a way of earning your living, like any other profession. It used to be exclusive, distinct, "whow factor-y", now anyone can be a model and the industry is becoming more and more diverse. Which is a good thing, afterall.

Yes, they really met the expectations this time And I am so so so glad that Marloes and Bregje were rookies

Exactly

And interesting take on the Super class.....I agree that being a super today is not like being a super back in the 90's or even the first half of the 2000's. The onyl girls I can think of coming close is Karlie Kloss and Doutzen Kroes....but we'll only know that for sure 5 years from now..

And surprisingly , my favorite models were among my least fav pictures!

Coming to tell you that I finished the book! As I told you I really liked it, I liked the general setting of it and I enjoyed that sort of parody of Robin Hood that is Captain Cully.

I found the Magician to be a particularly interesting character, same as with King Haggard.

And what particularly got my attention was all the thing about the Red Bull. It did brought back some obscure memories actually. Is there an animated movie of this book right?. Because I have vague memories of a scene of a huge fire-red bull chasing a Unicorn through a dark stony land. At the moment the Red Bull was mentioned in the book I started to make the association and this memory came back to me. If it's indeed a movie I guess I only saw that part, because I don't remember anything else, neither I did reading the book.

Today is Monday too. I never said which monday.

joking. I´m sorry guys for not taking care about my thread. My life is spinning around, I´ve been extremely busy both in work an private life. Things are finally moving about our own nest - place of living - home, but there are still many issues to take care of. Still, we both hope that this year´s Christmas will be spent at our own home (and then flee to the woods maybe).

For now, I´m both over-the-top excited and cautious at the same time. Oh my!!!

Amazing place Dave, indeed

FL is also trying to cultivate some tomatoes and paprika I did not have time to take a picture, but maybe I will next time. In our garden, we have several apple-trees and apricot-trees and pear-trees, so everytime we go there I tear some and eat or cook or bake or whatever and I enjoy it immensely.

When all the fruit comes down, we will have to cut the trees in very severe fashion because no one took care about them for years and they´re all overgrown and fragile. So I count with no or little harvest next year. They will need to recover at first.

I still remember how much did I love that movie when I was little. The whole concept of unicorns and ever-changing world around us, unconventional heroes and bitter sweet ending - it gets me every time. I think we are all a bit like every character in the book - if it´s Molly Grue or Schmendrick or King Haggard - or the very last unicorn - it´s so real and so touching.

The book everyone should read

My spoken English - I feel fine about it. I´ve been receiving compliments, people mostly refuse to believe me when I try to convince them I´ve never been to English speaking countries. I sometimes try to keep my European accent sometimes I speak more americanish and sometimes I enjoy the awesome Brittish accent, depends on whom I am speaking to when I´m drunk, I mix languages and jump from English to Spanish to Russian and the next day I´m like "I did it again, fu*k."

Thank you for the link! Epub is ideal format for my Kindle.

I can´t find myself in any of those examples I generally do not speak much, only when I get passionate enough to stand up for issues I feel strong about - like intolerancy and illiteracy. I can be very agressive at those times, but I´m working on it.

Speaking in front of public makes me - to say nervous would be a great understatement!!

Andy, I´m currently reading Carl Sagan´s book The Demon Haunted World, have you ever heard about it? It´s brilliant - more than brilliant actually - it makes me think all the time.

Indeed there is! I searched about it some time after reading the book and I looked at some fragments on youtube, and it was actually more or less what I remembered. That scene of the Bull chasing the Unicorn. Again, I must have only seen that part, because I don't remember anything else.

The characters are indeed very interesting and well done.

Maybe you did watch it whole - but the scene where the Red Bull is chasing the unicorn is the most impressive for a child - I can easily imagine how only this one could stick in your mind. I can remember how much it terrified me when I was little.

Yes, I did not even know there was a book I saw the movie first, fell in love with it - and later discovered there was actually a book first, so I was like - I NEED to have that one. So I started to search for it, and I searched for it for one year and could not get it (it was long time ago and I wasn´t so experienced with web) - and they even did not purchase it in Slovakia or Czech Republic - and when I complained to my father, he prepared a great surprise for me. Under the Christmas tree, there it was, the first and foremost book of my life He managed to have his friend in NY bought it for him and sent to Slovakia, it was the original English version and I have to say, NO Christmas present has ever been better than this one. I have it deeply memorized in my brain and everytime I think of it, it fills me with nostalgia and joy

We can (again and every time you feel like it) talk about The LOTR I can understand you passion - plus, talking about great books is quite a pleasure! Do you have any best-favourite charas from the book? How do you perceive the film version?

I´ll try, definitely

I don´t know how much did I tell you about the garden? I talk about it all the time, lol, so excited. The next week on Thursday we have ordered a drilling of the well, so we will finally have water source there!! We have also already chosen a home sewage treatment plant (we only need to dig a huge hole and do some concrete works) and during our holiday, from 26th July to 10th August we´re going to visit some mobile home centers (I think it is called log cabins at your area??). Lot of planning and cooperation, and also lots of nervosity attached to it - but I can´t really wait for us to move there finally

Well I must admit sugar is the key to many baked desserts...why are you kidding yourself by baking sure free or no added sugar at all! GIVE US OUR SUCROSE NOW!

Well so far you have mentioned the need of pruning and that is it for the most part Oh my everything is coming together from the read of it Jennka Glad to hear things are moving forward Is there one thing that you are really excited to see get done more then anything else?

Oh, Lily, yes! Her shots were precious, she´s extremely photogenic and talented - sheer sexiness in SI

I really liked Marloes and Bregje, though I can understand that general public can perceive them as weird and "too much". But I totaly loved most of them

I would definitely like to see Emily R. back (with better shoots and especially less make up), Gigi Hagid, Nina Agdal, Lauren Mellor.

Wouldn´t mind Sara Sampaio, Jessica Gomez, Emily D, Genevie and Natasha.

Edita V and Dioni Tabbers still reamain in my dream.

You mean besides getting the house on the area? It´s definitely an adoption of two dogs from our Bratislava dog shelter centre. FL promised that once we have our own house, I can go and adopt two dogs, so for the first time ever, my dream of having my own pack will come true!

I cannot truly explain how excited and touched I am by the very thought of it!
