Yeah, it´s also a possibility I prefer buying books, like, I have to OWN them

It´s crazy. Not only in work, because one of my colleagues have broken her leg and we had to do all her work, but I also had to translate from English to Slovak two things - one 63 pages long novel and other thing (that made me almost mentally ill - TWICE), it was 36 pages long study on how breastfeeding and pregnancy helps to protect women against breast cancer. I´m no doctor, I have no idea about medicine, and it was all about lobule structures, p53 and culture and cultivating environmental things and rats and... oh God. It was like speaking in MATH.

'Breastfeeding and pregnancy' helps protect women from breast cancer? Then one should feed on more breasts! Sounds a lot like a birthrate increasing agenda under the guise of academic respectability It's understandable though, since the proportions of >65 are increasing relative to those in the 64-20 range, particularly in Japan and Europe. Need the young to pay taxes for retirement benefits.

I have a lot of physical books and a lot of PDF books..... You know when you've bought a book made out of cheap paper when they yellow after a year on the shelf I hope you had a nice new years, mi lady.

Oh, I love "yellowed" books I know it´s not a good thing for a book (it isn´t going to last long), but I love that feeling of the yellowed page, can´t help myself. Have bought one book on Christmas (Terry Pratchett of course) and received another free from my family, and two Harry Potters in English from one woman in USA (we met on Deviantart), so I have soo many books to read and am excited as hell

PDF books are great, but I´m not able to read them on PC, it´s too exhausting for my eyes. Always have to print them

There were two documents - a medical study and statistical data and it was crazy. I don´t believe statistical datas (they are always adapted to what scientists want them to be) but you know, there is always something true about them. The whole process of pregnancy and additional breastfeeding seems to protect women against the risk of breastcancer, or at least raises the protection, of course depends on family history, age at the first pregnancy, lifetime duration of breastfeeding and parity. There is a strong evidence that nulliparous women are more likely to have breast tumours than parous women, and it seems it´s because lobules and stem cells - lobule structures are divided into four - lobules type 1, that are "the basic structures" of breast and through a process of differentiation can transfer itself into structures of lobules 2, 3 and 4, which seem to be refractory to the carconegenes, and the whole process of differentiation of the lobules is runned by pregnancy and additional breastfeeding. It´s really interesting thing to read, however, dunno if it´s really true.

But interesting

Oh :| , well yeah, that would be nice, only they never give up here . I own tons of books, but then I want the ones I own to represent me so I get ones I'm not sure I want to own from the library. But hope you're enjoying the new decade in general .

I get it, it´s wise to do such a thing - if you don´t like the book, you can return it and don´t have to pay for it in its full price

New year was really crazy, I don´t remember everything, just a bits of this and that. I have hurt my head, the right part of my hip got seriously injured and I have bruises all over my body. Oh God. Alcohol is bad!

How about you Joe?

How was your Christmas, Jennka?

Michael it was nice, I was at home on Thursday and Friday, made the tree, mum made the dinner and so, then we had presents and then I packed my things and went to the woods with my man. Some of our friend were already there. We spent there the whole weekend, I loved it.

How about you?

It was great, I spent both Christmas and new year taking part in the traditional family pastime of doing as little as possible. Back in the swing of things now though. <_<

Was it a white Christmas for you?

I prefer buying books, like, I have to OWN them

I went to college with a guy who loved the smell of new books so much, that he would buy ones he didn't need.

Ok Jennka, so I have a few questions for you

First, the sportsmen one you've noticed in Joe's thread

Second, I remember you mentioned once you hate "Sex and the city". Why? I mean, I don't watch it, but do you just hate this particular show or just don't like this kinds of shows

The last one, hwta do you think about Adele's music?

Slovak sportsmen? Uhm. I´ll give you some names, but I don´t really watch sport like a whole - I mean, I don´t even like tennis. I like to play sport, not watch ok, so here is Dominik Hrbaty, a great tennis player, then this young beautiful lady called Daniela Hantuchova, a tennis player, and Dominika Cibulkova, the same. Nasta Kuzmynova, biatlon I guess?? And many hockey and football players - Miroslav Satan, Visnovsky, Lasak, Handzus, Hossam Palfy, Bondra... there are many of them, and Martina Moravcova, a swimmer, and... I guess there are many more of them, but I can´t remember them now

Oh, Sex and the city. I don´t particularly hate that tv series... I just hate what it represents. Lots of make up, clothes and women. That is actually my personal nighmare. Girls´ talk and all that shit, trying to find "Mr. Perfect" and always talking shit about men.

Don´t get me wrong, I live in the city and I love sex I just don´t like such things and such women. That´s all I´m not much of a fan of romantic comedies too, so... I would rather watch Predator, Rambo or Bambi

Adele´s who?

Adele´s who?

But if you had to choose one, who combines popularity (with no scandals) with success the best, who would you choose?

Haha @ Rambo and then Bambi

Oh, you don't know Adele? Time for a little introduction then she's a British singer with her second album coming out soon. She's also a Grammy winner her voice is like.... whoah.

Check some of her videos:

"Rolling in the deep" (her new single)

"Chasing pavements"

"Water and flame" (duet with Daniel Merriweather)

"Make you feel my love" (Bob Dylan cover)

I've just had some wine from Galanta(?) and, naturally, thought of you! 1062wine.gif

I don't know, the label say Frankovka Modrá - which seems to be the grape. Anyway, it was very nice. Not dissimilar to my own dear Malbec...

I came on here just to tell you that, so you know. Whatever might happen here at BZ next is therefore entirely your fault!

you

Galanta, yeah!! We have much better wines than Frankovka Modrá, but it´s not bad at all too. You should definitely try Mrva & Stanko, I don´t drink wine, but they have the best wines in Slovakia (and maybe further too, dunno).

How did you get Frankovka?? Do they sell it out there?????

Well, I don't want to give any spoilers here for those that haven't read, but I read about 85% the first day, but wanted to save the rest for an off day because I like to end a good book ceremoniously . I'll get into more detail when I finish, but the only thing I wish so far is that it were longer .

Exactly, I too wanted it to last longer I´m eager to know more, so when you finish, tell me everything

^I thought the Frankovka was the name of the grape? You'll simply have to forgive me - my slovak is a little rusty!!!

I was at a 'tasting' event, where the theme was Eastern European wines. I had some Hungarian Tokay, and wines from Bulgaria and Romania too. My friend and I ended up finishing off this Slovakian one! It's not cheap (mind you, most European wine imports aren't), but it was the best of the evening in my opinion... 1062wine.gif

So, is Mrva & Stanko a Slovak brand - like a Torres from Spain, or an Ernest & Julio Gallo from California?

I can for sure give some private lessons psssst, it IS the name of the grape variety - "frankovka modra" is a type of grape, and old one, mostly spreaded across middle European countries. It is the most cultivated variety of grape in Slovakia, almost 40% of all the grape varieties. You are right

Yes, Mrva & Stanko is a brand - and Mr. Mrva and Mr. Stanko are also its owners and the "manufacturers" and wine makers, and in my personal opinion (and many others) the best in Slovakia and according to some others, even in Europe (which I seriously doubt, as French wines are considered the best generally).

I´m really glad the wine tasted great for you prouuud of it
