This is going to sound really odd, but I don't understand porn. I don't watch it at all, but I was skimming through some Tumblrs dedicated to beautiful redheads, and I happened across some. My reaction is one of indifference, revulsion, and perplexity. First, I don't see why I'm supposed to enjoy it. Okay, so these people are having sex. Good for them. I don't care though because I'm not the one having sex. Enjoying sex vicariously through someone else doesn't work for me. Sex is way more than just visual stimuli. It's the physical touch, the sensations, the emotions, and all other non-visual aspects. Removing that and simply visually sensing sex, and sex between parties not including oneself at that, simply doesn't work for me. I'm not the one getting blown by a fake redhead with balloons under her upper torso, so I don't get any pleasure from it. Quite simple.

And second, I cannot help but wonder about the circumstances of how these people got involved in the porn industry. Porn isn't exactly the sort of thing that people normally get into. I can't help but wonder things like, "What circumstances were involved that led to this woman giving blowjobs for a living? Does she have a drug problem? Did she drop out of school? Is this the only way she can make a living? Does she actually want to do this or is she doing it just because she has to?". Too many ethical quandaries are involved. If one of those questions has merit, I'd feel really awful about watching her. And before you say that some people do porn just because they want to do porn, I am aware of that, and that also raises problems. While I don't want to make all porn actors out to be horrid people, the question of the moral compass of someone willing to give blowjobs on camera for no reason other than because she wants to also comes up, and that can make the whole thing feel sleazy and uncomfortable too.

If you don't like porn, more power to ya, but I doubt you're really so bewildered by the fact that others do. Its instant gratification, plain and simple. Most people with half a brain in their head are aware of at least some of the ethical factors you raise and are perfectly fine ignoring them until thy masturbationary deed is done.

You guys are looking too deeply into something that is supposed to be nothing other than a visual stimulus for when you masturbate, which people usually do when horny or in many cases simply bored. It's not there so you can "Enjoying sex vicariously through someone else", you are just watching a hot chick getting railed.
