Are there problematic aspects of the porn and subsequent porn-culture? Of course. But I would never villainize it in it's entirety. I enjoy it for what it is, and if something turns me off/offends/disturbs me, I know to avoid that particular genre or film.

There are very few things about porn that I can (as the obnoxious social justice warrior that I am) honestly say have offended me. In fact, it's not so much porn (watching people have sex) that can be an issue, but many of the skewed perceptions that many men and women have received through porn. AND EVEN THEN, the issues aren't something I find myself bitching about too often.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I watch porn because it excites me; I am fully aware that it isn't supposed to be a compass that directs my sexuality or concept of it.

The porn industry is very exploitative, so I would say that a significant portion of both the male and female on-screen talent has some emotional issues.

Not all of them of course, but the producers do specifically look for the young and naive. If they are vulnerable and easily manipulated, so much the better.

The only people with any power are those who produce the porn (hence why any performer of some fame immediately starts his or her own production company).

Not counting a few superstars, porn tends to treat its male talent with even less regard for their well-being. They are far more replaceable. It's not unheard of in scenes with large group of male performers for them to be paid a real pittance. But they face the same consequences and social stigma for their actions.
