I like his roles better in Marriage Story, House of Gucci, Logan Lucky.

I wouldn't consider his Star Wars role/performance as one of his best, it was just the best of those Star Wars movies imo 😆

Also really curious about "Ferrari".

I'm curious about Megalopolis. I don't care that the critics didn't take it very well. I'm going to show up at the cinema for it

This appears to be a feminist take on the book?

we were assigned "Old man in the sea" in high school and a big deal was made out of it.  I remember not liking the book and finding the classes devoted to it boring.  Right now I can't remember a thing about it!

Different book. It's based on the life of Trudy Ederle, first woman ever crossed the english channel in 1926.

I should stop watching movies from the 70s 🤣 @Lilja K

I liked the first half of the movie (good pace, thrilling, great disturbing atmosphere + silly white people doing silly things and then getting killed for their ignorance LOL) but this 2nd half with these hilariously 3 dumb white men on that ship thinking they were big tough heros talking nothing but irritating dumbass nonsense while doing even worse things to kill that poor animal truly I just started to root for the shark to kill them all at one point and I'm not sorry

Jaws bored me personally.

I tried to educate myself on the classics a long time ago.  Citizen Kane was supposed to be the greatest movie ever but when I tried to watch it, it was so boring that I couldn't finish it.   For me - and it seems most people- films from the 80s onward click while 70s is more mixed, and 60s and earlier are way too old.  People communicate differently, the filmaking is slow, and acting not so good & many references are out-of date and not understandable by someone 50 years later.

Of the 70s movies: Godfather I & II, Apocalypse Now, A Clockwork Orange, Rocky,  still hold up though.  Godfather I & Apocalypse are two of my favorites.

AFI’S 100 YEARS…100 MOVIES — 10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION | American Film Institute

I tried the same with the biggest comedians- I found myself liking comedy from the 90s onward but 80s comedy was way too old.

I throw Up the Citizen Kane book. Maybe I never was too rich to think like he.

A Clockwork Orange IS one of my favorite films. I LOVE cinema, you should try Gooden age, there are Interesting films, not only thriller or drama, there are Lovely comedy and very important good actors and actresses, and professional doing excellent films with less electronic and acting very well. "All that Eve" IS very Interesting.

I watched a lot of old films when I was growing up (they were frequently on TV).  Films from the 50s and 60s even.  I like Casablanca, Spartacus, Vertigo, Singing in the Rain, Lawrence of Arabia (one of my fav films ever), Bridge on the River Kwai, north by northwest, Ben-hur.

Depends on the movie. I didn't watch many movies from the 70s, but I liked most of what I saw.

Some of my faves (besides the ones @Cult Icon has already mentioned):

The Deer Hunter 1978

Five Easy Pieces 1970

Network 1976

Chinatown 1974

Eraserhead 1977

The Exorcist 1973

The Rocky Horror Picture Show 1975

Solaris 1972

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 1975

Alien 1979

Taxi Driver 1976

And even more on my watchlist

Taxi Driver, Dear Hunter, and of course Alien too (I forgot that these were in the 70s)

I went through these classics too but at the time didn't get into them:

Network 1976

Chinatown 1974

The Exorcist 1973

The Rocky Horror Picture Show 1975

Solaris 1972

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 1975

Westerns hold up better imho, also a fav of mine is the Outlaw Josey Wales

2001 a space Odessey is good but too slow of a film

I loved that movie. So good. Probably my fave of the whole franchise.

This one wasn't bad but it had some real pace issues aka it was too long imo.

It's on my watchlist for years.

Not sure if I watched this particular cut but I watched one of them and liked it at least much more than Star Wars 😄

I never really was into pixar movies I have to admit (not even as a kid). I don't really get the humor and the strange looking characters. Maybe it's different when you watch those movies with a enthusiastic crowd. I'm kinda curious for this cinema experience. I think the only other pixar I ever watched in cinema was "Ratatouille". Quite liked it on the big screen. Wasn't the same when I re watched at home.

I thought it was from the 80s😅 One of my all time faves. It was interesting enough for me to ignore the slowness. Although, I speak as a person who has endured the slowness of Too Old to Die Young tv show lol

How was it out of 10? Is it worth the hype? Anything new compared to the other two films?

Mmmm I'd say 8/10. In contrast to the previous movies this one focused more on jokes and cameos rather than the storyline. Started out strong and finished strong, the middle part was filled with f-bombs and cameos from the Marvels past. Overall it's a fun movie and def worth seeing. Deadpool and Wolverine chemistry was great.
