Yes, I guess around this time of the year many students, including myself , are undergoing school exams. The amount of stress is rather unbearable, not that I am feeling much of it but how do you personally deal with stress? And what is the main reason that causes stress for you, be it work, home, friends or school?

Come on everyone, let us all spill the beans and give each other support

Oh dearest I can relate very well. The college semester ended last week for me. I had so much stress it was unbearable. The last 2 weeks I had 14 different papers and finals to work on. 6 of the papers were due in the same week. I also work and had other stuff going on. So I'd go to school, work, then to theater and get home about 11:00 at night. At 11:00 I got home and used my time for studying and working on the papers. Then I left for class at 6 in the morning. So basically I wasn't sleeping. I had no time for anything. Not even time to manage my stress or take a quick nap. I was running on energy drinks and coffee.

But that's all over. This week i've just been resting and i'm all stress free. I'm sick though because of all that stress.

Some tips

1. Don't do what did. Take time to rest even a little. If your mind is rested you will be able to work faster and more efficently. My work and tests would have come out better had I rested even a little.

2. Cardiovascular exercise is awesome for relieving stress. Exercises the body and brings oxygen to the brain, gives you endorphins. So it will help you a lot.

3. Make a schedule. Take a time out to study and time to get your other things done. But also have time in there to take a break and relax.

4. Use your time wisely and don't leave all your work until the last minute. I made that mistake.

Those are the tips can give you. Good luck with your finals.

Omg, the reason why I have stress is that fact that I just, probably innately, PROCRASTINATE all the time. I find it incredibly hard to revise...I don't know, I just find it sooo hard to study. But I am definitely taking your advices on board

The way how I deal with stress is to play a musical instrument. Playing an instrument allows a different part of the brain to be stimulated and so therefore your "working brain" can take a break I need to do excercise too, but then again, fatties like me are too damn lazy to move!

The way that i manage stress is kinda weird. During my mid-year exams what i do is that i try to go home as soon as possible, giving me time to sleep for a long time in the afternoons. usually for up to 2 hours. then i will be able to study and feel awake till late at night usually till 1+ am. Sometimes i try to run for as long until my legs hurt then endorphins are released making me feel more motivated

OH goosh, it feels like that I have completely forgotten the power of naps!! I guess having a nap will give me a lot of energy for the evening to work hard

I faint

Really, I'm not joking, most of the times I have fainted, have been because of stress, the most recent one I saw it coming, it was last wednesday, I had a LOT of work, everybody was after me because of it, but it was becaue I got my cordals out and no one else did my job during those 4 days I missed work, so you can imagine. And I am a very organized person when it comes to work, if it's not organized, I stress out. As it was too much owrk, it gou out of control, I didn't know how to handle it, my boss gave me more and more work, everytbody called and came to me like "Where is this and that and bla bla bla?" PLUS, I was in the middle of final exams, and again, for my cordals I missed some classes, and I could only study then at the very last minute. Bsides that I rather much more studying nimbers than reading and this semester has been a lot of reading.

Anyway, it was like, if you talk to me about anything else, I would not listen to you bcause I'm just thinking about my exams or how much work I have.. believe me, It has happened.

So I fainted that wednesday after an exam, waiting for a coworker, we wer meeting to go to a sort of party at our work. Then I spend two terribly days with headaches and my stomach was not good at all, I still fel like trowing up. Wait, I threw up once on wednesday :yuckky:

This happened before actually, without the vomit, and after that, I controled myself, becaue I have got into mdical control, but I hate it and want to leave it a soon as possible, but this time was unevitable (sp?), college is giving me a hell, work has been too... but from tomorrow on will try to get better on both.

What do I do?? Actually nothing.. I just dont worry about nothing too much.. with collge, I try to do everything on time, study on time and do work on time, I try to leave nothing for later. but I do admit that if something stresses me, is group work. FUCK. Dont the teachrs see that we all work on day and study at nght and hav no time to meet?? are they stupid??

Hope I did not scare you!

OH gosh Daniela! I hope you are seriously ok right now. Its "inevitable", you were close! Your english is incredible, see, your studies must have helped you then! Have you tried going to yoga classes just to de-stress yourself? I think that no matter how busy you are, you must get some time off. It could be 20 minutes and during that time you can have some breathing excercises that will calm you

Breathing excercises are good because you can do them anywhere, anytime Stress is awful, I know! I have exams coming up and I am not leaving it to the last minute! Right now I am not feeling as stressed or as worried as I did last year! I hope you won't faint again

My goodness Daniella, take carr of yourself. But I understand you perfectly. College is way too stessful. I almost fainted in the middle of my calc. exam during finals. Not fun. I'm just enjoying my break now and relaxing now. Needed it greatly because the last month of school I had so much stress I thought it was going to kill me.

I agree, sleeping does help! I tried that when I had my exams, like half an hour does the trick. Now that my exams are overrrrrrrrrrrr I don't have stress anymore! Yay!
