It is possible scientifically to lust.. but also love.. There are Pheromones and Pheromones.. One will attract the person that you want to have sex while the other tends to send out attraction to a specific person and it can be more than just simple attraction .. it is the physie so anything can happen in this since it is actually so broad.

It helps to know people who seen each other and just knew they were each others partner.. sometimes it is only one of them that is paying attention at the time though.. men can be slow..

The best people I know that have been together for about 35 years now will reinforce what the joker said.. they hated each other when they first met.. they had no idea why they couldn't stand each other but instantly they had a dislike for each other that apparently went in a much different direction when sex got into the picture..hehehe... anyway.. in her opinion, it could have been really love at first but the situation they had was frustrating since it was intense, stressful and definitely not one setting for sex or for even showing any like to each other.

There is a such thing. And apeman, I see what you're saying, but do you mean passion as lust. Sometimes passion can encompass love, it'll make you do things you never thought possible, or that you said you'd never do. For example, I'd never want to fight a hammerhead shark, but if that certain someone was involved (whether rescue or whatever), I'd do it. I still hope it never comes to that, but i would still do it. Just give me an airtank and a pair of goggles and let me at it.

I think that true love between a man and a woman combines passion and dedication.

This is a funny topic because it's kind of how my boyfriend and I met, but it definately was NOT love at first sight. It was more like lust at first sight. The first time we ever encountered each other was in the basketball locker room here at our college. It was weird, we just made eye contact and went about our business. All I remembered thinking was "Damn! :drool:" Then I forgot about it and moved out about my day. It was a couple of days later and I was walking in the courtyard and then I hear sombody (which I later found out was his friend) shout at me "He thinks you're hot" I was like "what the hell" and when I turned my head it was him standing next to that guy! Haha, ever since then, we've been really close and in February of next year, it will be two years of us being together! So I don't exactly believe in love at first sight, but if we hadn't made eye contact, we wouldn't be where we are at this point in our lives right now

There really is no such thing as "love at first sight". You can be enchanted by someone, but LOVE is really a serious thing - it entails commitment, responsibility, trust, sacrifice... things like that. You cannot get trust at first sight. Sure, you can notice a person, talk to them for a few minutes and get a thought like: "Wow, he/she is really wonderful..." and fall in love, but true love needs time, it doesn't just emerge out of the blue.

The only love at first sight that exists is when a dopey Western man goes to teach English in the third world, only to return home married to a sour faced peasant girl. Once you've seen the stupidity in his eyes, you know you've got him good for a visa.

Love is all encompasing. True love connects all things in the universe and therefore love at first sight truly does exist. In fact, love exists before first sight.

However, what most of us are confusing as love, probably does not exist at first sight unless it is in the manner described in the post above.
