Anybody knows a website that works like daylife used to?
I had an old daylife link saved and found out that if you change the old url, for example

to
http://daylifeimages.newscred.com/imageserve/0c2fgP65zZ0sN/x3000.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000
it works. So the links are not dead, but I just can't find sites with search engines to look up new pics. They should be powered by Newscred, but the sites I found don't have a typical Daylife search, only galleries that were posted along with an article or something

There are a fair few pages from Daylife available to view on archive.org.
For example, if I wanted pictures of Kerry Washington I'd type http://www.daylife.com/topic/Kerry_Washington into URL box on the main page of archive.org. You can replace Kerry_Washington with the name of whichever celeb you're looking for, then it's a case of crossing your fingers and hoping some captures of that page have been saved.
If you're lucky and your page works, it usually appears that the image links are dead, HOWEVER, it's still possible to get the image ID number from there, and that's what you need to insert into the above quoted URL to get your picture (occasionally the image look stretched and not great quality, but the majority of the time they are perfect). So it's a case of:
- Right click on image link and select 'Copy Link Location'
- Paste into Notepad (or whichever program you prefer) and you'll see something like this https://web.archive.org/web/20120115013925/http://www.daylife.com/photo/04RedZb2VJ5h1?__site=daylife&q=Kerry+Washington
- Copy the code after http://www.daylife.com/photo/ from the above into Notepad (or whichever program you prefer).
- Insert into this URL http://daylifeimages.newscred.com/imageserve/04RedZb2VJ5h1/x3000.jpg?fit=scale&background=000000
- Done!

They are tiled. The url of each tile is like that:
(remove 'huge' and replace by '/TileGroup0/3-X-Y')
The last two numbers (1 and 2 above) are the tile X and Y number. The number before it
(3 above) is the manfiying factor, 3 is the maximum apparently (maybe some images have larger).
Anyone can figure out a bigger size for this:
