The question is why we would delete a thread with content in the first place? Usually when they are duplicates we merge them do we not?
If not I think that should be the default. We dont really need to filter out duplicate content as people post the same thing millions of times anyways (look at any of the huge threads).

^ No, we do. I think there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication somewhere. It should be all good now (Y)

Basically, Danni is a good member overall, but never blindly fulfill a Site and Forum request of hers. I've spoken with both of them and it seems okay for now. I've also been asked to translate the rules to make them easier to read
. I didn't see the need seeing as how the member that inquired isn't the most stable and they seemed clear enough to me although I guess I could make some sentences shorter maybe.

HighFashionIdiot is back OnTheForehead7
HighFashion info, OnTheForehead info
Ban for
(IP: 2.218.59.138)
Yeah I've had to clean up being called a Cunt again as a meme in the VS thread lol
Edit; He made another account OnTheForehead and spammed the hell out of the VS thread with the same meme.
wtb ability to IP ban, thanks lol

^ Your c*unt must be mad nice for someone who doesn't even know you to be that batshit obsessed ![]()
![]()
Anyways, ip banned & etc the account above and OnTheForehead (Y)

I know right? ![]()

So...do the rules stay worded as is then
? It was Maiya who made the inquiry. Although it could be backlash from her having two warnings, maybe some things could be shortened as long as the message is the same. *edit* The Warnable Offenses and F&Q seem pretty self explanatory though.

^ I think the rules are pretty clear and self-explanatory. Is there a particular rule you feel is unclear?

Some odd goings on in the David Gandy thread as of late. I recently put the member Jennifer85 on suspension after assorted infractions and complaints from other members, and have since discovered that she shares an IP address with three other users (lisa89281, Nicolelondon92 and Bridgette), who appear to only ever post in the aforementioned topic. Lisa expresses different opinions than the rest and they occasionally quote each other, but they have an almost identical posting style and are, for the most part, serial bashers. If there are no objections, I’d like to ban them.

^ Definitely sounds like multiple account trolling
No objections here. What do the rest of you think? ![]()
Once we reach some sort of agreement, we can IP ban them & etc (Y)

I banned that first one, but then unbanned them when I saw that they were under suspension for fear that it would be some sort of breach of contract
. I do however agree with the banishment consensus seeing as how they seem to have been warned and that appears to be a lot of accounts anyway.

Newish member to the forum comes out of the wood-works, so I looked them up (Irff) this morning and find them in Louisiana under this IP: 97.230.123.7

^ Great, awesome, I love the place.
----
A couple hours later I see their IP has changed and now they're in Kansas. O.o under this 97.195.83.5

An hour later they're under yet another IP: 97.230.54.78 (still in Kansas)

Now if you don't know anything about cellar IP addresses, you connect to a local tower or localized wireless internet so there is absolutely zero way she/he would have an IP showing them in Louisiana and then a couple hours later in Kansas unless they're hiding under a proxy.
(how you change you cell IP via a proxy or app http://voices.yahoo....e-10469065.html)
So is this Chosen maybe?
It's up to you what happens next but if I had it my way they'd be banned (shitty attitude over everything that's not Adriana... basically saying Candice seemed racist, and now this), however I'm not dealing with this one guys. I'm already have a big enough reputation as being a hard-ass/bully who deals with all the trolls on BZ and I really don't feel like having the fingers pointed at me yet again.
Irff <--- ?? your move BZ staff

^ I looked into the 10 IP addresses this member has used in the last 3 days. Some of them came up with multiple locations :notsure: Not sure how (or is it even) possible. If it is, I would greatly appreciated it if someone would explain this to me (Y)
Examples
May 30th
Kansas 10:45PM
Kansas/Texas 10:15PM
Kansas/Texas 10:09PM
Kansas/Arkansas 8:43PM
Kansas 11:48AM
May 31st
Kansas/Texas/Arkansas 10:17PM
Kansas 4:12PM
Kansas/Louisiana 3:22PM
This member does not seem to contribute any significant content. I don't think it would be a major lost if he/she was gone.

There is absolutely no way that an IP address can have multiple locations.
IP addresses are static and are assigned to a specific geographical location. When using a cell phone to connect to the internet you in fact connected to the nearest wireless tower and thus are assigned an ip address associated with the geographical location of that tower.
The same goes for wireless internet connections, where your phone connects to a wifi connection via radio waves emitted from a router, (ie your computer). Regardless on what it's connecting to the connection made with determine a rough geographical location that is static.
What I believe is going on is this Irff is close to Wichita Kansas and they're using an unstable cell proxy or app to garner a new IP to probably avoid a ban we've already placed on them for doing similar shit that Chosen, Track, Dreams, LittleMissSunshine ect were doing. Once that proxy they've been using drops their original IP comes back and they have to reconnect to get a new IP addy to hide behind, which is why they're bouncing all over the United States but always seem to come back to Kansas.

^ Since no one else has comment besides you and I. I don't care either way if the members is banned or not. You would like to ban this member, so I guess we ban him/her ![]()

So if their IP keeps changing, is it still possible to stop them from coming back?

^ A quick glance at the IP addresses, most of them start with:
97.231
97.230
97.195
97.194
98.67
We could also banned the sequences in addition to the full IP address. However that would mean if someone else had an IP address that started with those number they would not be able to access the forum
Besides, even if he/she does come back I am sure it would not be that hard to nab them again. We keep on banning them until they give up ![]()

With the advent of proxies and now phone apps that allow you to change you cell IP at will the idea of banning a person for good is antiquated, but what else can we do? If we allow the trolls to continue on this place will turn into a giant pile of shit within months.
Technology is great, but in this case it's made forums hell to deal with it.
I'm normally the one that spots these people (call it bullshit radar), and I'm not sure if it's possible, but can Mod's be given the right to ban? It'll make it much quicker and easier to deal with these people.
Perhaps we need to add a new rule about random IP changes. Yes it happens once and a while (Mine changes like ever 4-6 months because of Comcast), but most people are on a static IP so it shouldn't be changing every hour, or every day or other day. I think if it does and you're found to be in violation of this on a regular basis that it's terms for immediate banning. It just seems too shady. There's just no reason a person has to hide behind a proxy if they haven't done anything wrong.

^Mods can ban. Everytime Mods have warned a spammer it saids they are also banned. The only thing is mods can only ban the most recent IP address but not all of them.
Anyways, I am going to ban irff now...

When I had banned HighFashionIdiot for going on a bitchfit and cursing out all the members it didn't IP ban him at all. All he did was make another account under the same IP and he was back at it within minutes.
Maybe I did something wrong ![]()
