It's certainly a valid and interesting point, and I agree, it can be a bit disheartening sometimes to see new members registering solely for the purpose of making requests, be it model IDs or HQ images. It just seems like it'd be such a difficult thing to try and change, what with the forum being open to all.

Is it possible to moderate content for specific threads, like we do for members on 'mod watch'?

^ I think we could set it up so all posts must be approved prior to appearing.

Maybe it'd be an option to do that and then just throw away posts that break the rules on what you can and can't ask for. Or alternatively (perhaps depending on how much of pressing concern we think it is), how about making the topic viewable to existing members only and cutting down on passing trade?

I would be less likely to post as often if ALL posts had to be approved. I know that I am able to preview my posts, but after doing all that work researching, prepping the images via the image host or BZ attachment feature, writing citations, arranging the layout, etc., it is very gratifying to see them right away in the thread. I'm a creature of instant gratification, I suppose. Furthermore, I believe that the forums would lose the feeling of organic spontaneity because of the inevitable delays that would occur as a result of waiting for approvals.

If a post approval policy is instituted, perhaps it should apply only to new members during a probationary period (one month?) and/or to those with two warnings for hotlinking and other infractions related to posting images.

^To clarify in case I've done a crap job of explaining myself (that's happened before ), I was really only talking about that one particular thread when I suggested moderating and approving posts. Wouldn't want to see it happen across the board.

Last time I checked exchange of information is not a crime and will not cause us to be shut down. We are not hosting/providing any source code or anything of the sort to "hack" into accounts. If it makes everyone feel better we can make the thread members only but apart from that I wouldnt limit the disussion unless its the usual bashing/fighting issues we have.

Just my 2c, but if most of you want it gone im fine with that as well.

It was also a way to be proactive so members don't end up posting info. publicly that might become what you would call a "hack".

I have started to renew the thread I started years ago: "Wet and Hot Models and Actors" HERE. Will it be OK if I pinned the thread? Not sure what the criteria is for pinning, but it presently has over 500K views.

Guys, just want to make it known that liika is currently putting together a new BZ Facebook fanpage (and doing a pretty gosh darn (pardon my language) great job of it so far). I've given her express permission to put a link to it in her sig.

Oops, Sorry. Just saw your post. I see you already pinned the thread. It is fine. We generally pin stuff that we want to: highlight (news rules, updated rules, etc), things that are considered references or resources (hints and tips to stuff), topics that has some sorta request element, or any topic that has a major theme (like the "official" VS thread)

That's great! I know we had some FB pages in the past that are now defunct. Since the page is a representation of BZ, I think we should have at least one staff member "admining/modding" the page to make sure everything stays well and within boundaries. Also it would be easier for us to post site updates. I just don't know how I feel having a regular member being the sole controller of the page. Michael, since you approved the page would you mind being that admin/mod ? Much appreciated!
