I have an issue with a non-staff member making such a statement. Whether or not her POV has merits (and that might be worthy of a seperate staff discussion), it is not the role of a regular member to make such decisions, nor to impose them on other members. I just wanted to consult you all before I responded.

Now if her opinion about Nelly possibly objecting to the number of shots from their site being posted on here does have merit, it can be part of an official policy on our part, but I don't think we should have members arbitrarily imposing their own little rules.

What are your thoughts about this and how should we respond?

^ Even before I clicked on the link based on your post I knew modelknowledge had something to do with it! Her haughty, patronizing and presumptuous attitude is hard to take in at times. I think Joe has spoken to her in the past but she refuses to hear him out b/c she is so set in her ways

I do see her point about it being annoying that there are 30+ pages of photos from the same brand when the model probably is involved with other brands too. However, all the photos are public and no rules were broken so I don't see it being a major problem. We could encourage members to seek out other projects the model is involved in but it is not a big deal if they don't. Some models don't get much work except with brands they already have relationships with

Another thing I do find concerning about modelknowledge is she half-ass helps other members. Like how she responds in Model ID threads with names of agencies. I don't see the point. if she knows the agencies the model might be part of, why not just go to the agencies' sites and find the name for the member!? It seems like she is posting to give a false sense of how knowledgeable and "helpful" she is, and as a way to show off.

Now back to the post above, if it bothers her that much then she needs to be part of the "solution" instead of complaining. She could go find non-Nelly images of the model and post them. This should be an easy task b/c she knows the model's agencies The way I see is, you can't complain unless you are willing to do something to make it better. As they say, you are either part of the problem or the solution.

So I sent her a PM and this is what I got back as a reply...

 

i wasn't imposing my own rules. the problem isn't the fact they are posting Nelly Images. It's the fact it's the same images over and over. Look through the whole thread.  it's not like its various people not realizing they were posting something on page 10 that's on page 25. It's the same 2 people posting the same thing over and over again. After all there is a rule about duplicate image reposts which is being abused. I understand forgetting what you post sometimes. I do it as well. But Johanna works for other clients and I have contacted them and told them where else they can find her. Hell, I even post in there from time to time. It gets to a point where these types of members alienate other members from posting in there. All I did was offer information on how to find more images of her that weren't Nelly. Most of the time, people just don't know where to look for a model. I did not say anything negative or mean. I offered a solution to the problem.

 

And about the information about Nelly is something that has already started to happen in various threads. You need to start looking through all your threads. There are tons of deadlinks of catalog work. Members are getting threatened on weekly basis.  I have voiced my concerns over this issue several times in the Site & Forum Section as well as the staff via PM. So don't tell me, that I am imposing rules when I am just telling people what is happening to me and other members in our threads. I am sorry you feel I am imposing my own rules when I am simple warning people they are in danger of being harassed by some outside entity. Because we shouldn't have the aggravation of being threatened of being sued. 

 

So instead getting bent out of shape over me stating something that is happening in a lot of threads. Perhaps, you should be figuring out which members are creating unnecessary attention to this forum, so they aren't any missing images OR you getting threatened with legal action. Because lots of members are being harassed by people claiming to be lawyers and agents. It gets to the point where people are no longer posting in this forum between the harassment and the lack of leadership on this place. People are sick of this. This stuff doesn't happen at Fashionspot and you guys need to figure out why this is happening to you and not other forums. You also have to get on the same page because each one of you has different rules and it's creating a lot of problems on here.

 

I like this forum. I like most of the members on here. I don't ever harass members. I befriend members who get harassed on here which is way too often. I prevent people from getting banned on here by teaching them Bellazon etiquette all via PM so they aren't humiliated. I talk to people who first language isn't English and explain what faux paux they have done. I scan and upload catalogs and magazines for whoever wants them. I identify models. I help anyone who wants my help. I never judge anyone. When someone wants more attention to their threads, I post in even if I am not a fan. I am a nice person who worries about other people. I do not have ulterior motives and I don't make up my own rules. Time to time, I will tell people if they violate a rule certain members will rat them out. I don't rat people out unless they continually disrespect this forum over a long period of time. So before you say I make up my own rules, why don't you take into consideration that I care about the members of this forum. I hate seeing people get kicked off of here or harassed off especially people who contribute a lot. My thing is preventing people from being aggravated. I know you don't know me well but if you just looked around or even asked, you would know my intentions are good. You would know that I care about this place and always report problems. Can you say the same for the person who obviously complained about me? Because I don't think I have ever seen you post in the same threads as me or even contact me for that matter.

 

That statement  I made wasn't my opinion or my preference. I was just telling everyone in that thread what is going on and how to prevent it. If you have a problem with that, then I am sorry because it is truly sad that members can not say things without them being misconstrued.

I've spoken to modelknowledge many times in the past and have been on the receiving end of a few of those too. I think it's important to remind her every so often that she doesn't have free reign around here, though. If she ever did, the forum would begin to resemble a totalitarian state within hours.

With MK, I mean there is nothing wrong with helping other members out and guiding them, but she just goes over the top. Like Pink said she often bitches about things as if she knows the answer and the right way to post things and what the members should be posting in that thread, yet she doesn't contribute or help after she bitches about it

I have a question

jet3 has been on modqueue for using paid for profit image host. I see he has now been posting under image-bugs, and it seems fine when you click on the images, but there is no option to save the images from there.  Does that mean that is another for profit host? I've never heard of this site before, and I'm so fuzzy as to what is a for profit image host because it seems so hard to tell. And even if it isn't, should he be aloud to post images that don't even have the ability to be saved? 

^ I was able to locate the save button under the photo, on the right Although I cannot say for sure image-bugs is a for-profit host  but I do know sometimes the indicator is hidden. I suspect some of these hosts were created by for-profit networks. Now that various forums are on to them they are hiding any indication they are for-profit. For example, the people who were involved with imagesion.com kept on creating new sites everytime it was discovered they were for-profit. Eventually they just took out the "pay out" button & etc but kept the same format and layout (imagegaga.net).
 
I did some digging on image-bugs and found they are affiliated with CelebPhotos. Their tagline is "This is the place where celebrities get naughty in picture and word... join us !!!"  Could be a case of using a for-profit host and promoting personal website but I think we need to continue keeping an eye on this one just to be sure.

I've been searching on all the image hosting forums for info on image-bugs and so far from what I've seen it's not a for-profit site. Perhaps rather then risk it any further we should ask him to simply use a new imagehoster like imgbox, imagebam, or something that we know for sure isn't for-profit?

This chick has gone mad with reporting this pic, claiming she knows Nadine and she is being sexually assaulted by this pic. Its not technically breaking any rules, but this girl is causing such drama, should we just delete the pic to get her to stop?

So following up on the modelknowledge debacle, I just noticed that Soeniel has not signed onto BZ since replying to her post.

So what should be done about this Nadine Leopold pic?

Yeah I say we might just need to delete the pic, even though its a pap shot, and I think they are going a bit overboard on the reaction (sexual assault, etc)  I guess it would be best. It wouldn't upset anybody if the pic was removed anyway. 

So I guess deleting the pic and the convo would be best

I was reading Adriana's  thread and noticed a person getting super holier then thou, so I decided to check them out and it turns out they have two accounts.
