A quick query for those in the know, if I may. I just received a message through the BZ Facebook page, from someone who's been trying to join us (username lanana5494@hotmail.fr, IP address 93.4.87.121). I found the account she made easily enough on our database, but it seems she's been placed on the 'validating' list. Now, obviously, it wouldn't too hard to set her as a regular member via the AdminCP, but since it's better to be safe than sorry and all that, I wanted to run it by everyone first. Does the 'validating' thing automatically suggest something dodgy? ![]()

I think its just trying to verify her email ![]()
And no problem just approving them.

Okay, I've approved her. Thanks MD! ![]()

Tentatively I am planning on upgrade BZ to the new software early next week and moving it to a new server. Just letting you all know ![]()
Hopefully my job is quiet because of the holidays and thats why I am trying to do it at that time.

I should probably start drafting that announcement, then. ![]()

Anyone out of work and/or interested in making a bit of money on the side?
I need to "categorize" all 4.8million images on BZ as either "safe" or sexually provocative and nudity for Google Adsense.
Just trying to gauge interest. Let me know, thanks ![]()

How exactly are we getting paid? And what is Google's definition as "sexually provocative"?

I'd be interested in that too. I'm going to be wrapping up another project soon and should have some free time. ![]()

OK good to know at least a couple people are interested.
And google doesnt define it at all, so I would prefer to be conservative, so take a "prude" interpretation of provocative. I would assume lingerie would all be considered provocative, while swimsuits are ok as long as they dont have provocative poses. Sorry I cant really say for sure as they have banned our adsense accounts over things I would not consider too bad.
And as far as getting paid, it would be however you like. Cash through mail, paypal, bank transfer, check. Whatever is convenient for the both of us.

Here is the official documentation about the subject.

I think the key one is
"If you’re unsure about whether or not something might be considered adult content, our general rule of thumb is this: if you wouldn’t want a child to see the content or you would be embarrassed to view the page at work in front of colleagues, then you should not place ad code on it."

I can help ![]()

General question: I assume this is related to the update that is still running but is the forum acting rather slowly for anyone else?

Yes its processing like crazy and I am still "tuning" (enabling caching and other items). But its 2am and I'm getting pretty tired. Hopefully it will stabilize a bit after the caching thing.

Okay.
I guess many of the other issues I have noticed will also be related to the same thing.
I have noticed some topics where the thumbnails from 3rd party hosting sites have been mangled.

Yup all that should be resolved once the rebuild is complete.

Is there still an option to change font text, and add videos without knowing how to use HTML coding?

Getting a lot of people sending me pm's over skype, or posting on here saying they don't like the small circles for our avatars. BB Codes are being requested because it's a hell of a lot easier then dealing with HTML coding, and is there a way to preview our posts before actually hitting the submit button?

Co-sign on the new avatar format.

+1 on the bigger and square avatars. 150x150 but with this new software update perhaps we can upgrade the size of the avatars and siggis? If not at least back to the older format of 150x150 for avatars and 600x140 for siggis.
And yes we definitely could use a font editor.
No emoticons either I see yet. No quote boxes.
Also notice you cannot see how many people are currently viewing the forum or each thread. That would be nice to have that back

Avatars are square now, I need to look at the size issue and all the rest of the stuff but I need to head out the door. Ill be back in a few hours to take a look.
