So, at the (presently) nail-biting end to Carlton's season I was wondering about the AFL debut of this other team next year:

Are you "Greater" Sydney - or just Sydney dead and centre? And is this going to split the Sydney fanbase? What's "Greater" anyways? Is it the boondocks, or those funny little places like where Miranda Kerr comes from? You know, not too far out - like Wolf Creek far out...

I'm about 10 kms out from the CBD so I think that's pretty dead centre. Geographically, 'Greater Sydney' refers to a 50km (approx) radius around Sydney before you start entering the mountains and countryside. However, I think its just a nicer way of referring to the outskirts of civilisation :lost:

I guess if you want a rough comparison, try imagining the distance from St Kilda through Melbourne and to Epping. Then double it. That would encompass Greater Sydney.

Miranda Kerr is from Gunnedah. I don't even know where that is. I do know that it is most definitely country :| Where is Wolf Creek?

P.S. Ugly uniform

^Agreed - all that time to think about it too, and they come up with this yawn-a-thon?!?! <_<

You don't know Wolf Creek? It's an Australian horror film set somewhere in the middle of the Northern Territory (I think) - it was an international success, which is why I'd heard of it anyway! I thought such "titans" of Aussie cinema would be hardwired into your cerebral cortexes?

So what do you make of 'Pool's recent exploits then, Ed? From the brief-ish highlights I've seen lately, it looks like these are rather exciting times for your boys - though I was just reading some comments from a Liverpool fan suggesting that Jordan Henderson's performance against Man City was worse than George Weah's 'cousin' in his short outing for Southampton a few years back. Surely not!

P.S. I'm also still lamenting the fact that you didn't give us David Ngog in part exchange for Henderson. I was really looking forward to singing his name to the tune of 'Mmmbop' by Hanson.

P.P.S. Have you played any of the recent FIFA or PES games?
