Hello once again fellow BZer-er's... I just wanted to thank everyone for holiday wishes. Thus far, my new year has been pretty, as I hope all of yours are too. As you can tell, the new year has came and went and I'm still no more active on here than I was before. I promise I will make the best effort to be on here when I can, but I doubt I'll be able make as many/as quality of posts as I was before and I doubt I'll be able to get my New Faces Competition up and running again (Pretty, this is your chance!). I hope to talk to all of you soon and, as I said, I'll try to get on here when I can, but I make NO PROMISES!

The Beatles' sons to form a band?

James McCartney, the son of Sir Paul McCartney, has told the BBC he's into the idea of starting a band with all of The Beatle's sons.

McCartney made the revelation during an interview on his own solo career and after a line of questioning that asked whether it's hard living in his dad's shadow.

Here's the transcript:

Q. What would you say to forming The Beatles - The Next Generation, with Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey [Ringo Starr's son]?

I don't think it's something that Zak wants to do. Maybe Jason [another of Starr's sons and also drummer] would want to do it. I'd be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I'd be happy to do it.

Q. Has it been mooted?

Yeah, a little bit.

Q. Do you think it could happen?

Yeah, hopefully, naturally. I don't know, you'd have to wait and see. The will of God, nature's support, I guess. So yeah, maybe.

Not everyone is as keen on the idea though. Death Cab For Cutie front man Ben Gibbard tweeted a link to the story prefaced with just two letters - "NO."

^ I did actually. Not that I'm ENTIRELY for the idea of it, but if anyone could pull off the Beatles legacy, it could be them. Sean's talented enough and sounds JUST like his father, same with Dhani. I'm not sure about James and Jason's skills, but I'm sure they've got to be somewhat musically inclined if their a Beatles kid. In all honesty, I just sort of hope that if they DO end up doing this, they kind of retain the music style of their fathers. You hear all these musicians today that cite the Beatles as some of their "greatest inspiration" and then their music is complete crap that sounds like anything the Beatles ever were or ever would've been.

Yeah, I'm not so sure about it either. I can just see it being so short lived, and/or gimmicky. It's kind of a weird one, because while I agree they should retain the Beatles style, I still think they need to forge their own unique sound, and not just sound like a tribute act. I suppose we just have to wait and see how it unfolds, if it ever does <_<
