Here you go

Thanks so much, Don, much appreciated.

^Spoilers within spoilers. Not even our Prometheus discussion had those

Interesting thoughts. I saw the movie on Sunday, and I agree with much of what you said. Ledger's Joker was always going to be a tough act to follow, but there wasn't anything particularly captivating about Bane at all; in his past, present or at the conclusion of his arc. I too felt that a lot of the film was muddy, and I think the lapses of time during the final act were really strange and not very well realised. More focus on less would have definately been an improvement - especially if that meant more Selina.

I saw the film once, then I downloaded the cam and watched all the good parts again in sequence. The good parts being...only 40% of the film. The last hour is particularly weak. Still, it's better than all those Marvel films IMHO. (eg. Iron Man, Captain America, spiderman, etc.). As for Bane, perhaps it was my theater...but they made bane's muffled mumbling loud as hell, and still I couldn't decipher everything he said. I believe that, in writing him, they were influenced a bit by Colonel Kurtz. from Apocolypse Now:

Also, do you know what I suspect about Bane? They probably got Hardy to act in a purely physical way, and then re-dubbed him for the big screen. Just like silent film....!

Ultra spoiler:

Bane's two dumb monologues (prison and football field) , his loud mumbling, the manner of his death and his connection with Talia half-ruined the character for me. But that (really good) brutal sewer fight scene and some of his hammy acting was pretty entertaining. A few good moments like:

" Peace has cost you your strength! Victory has defeated you!"

" We both know that I have to kill you now. You'll just have to imagine the fire!"

"There can be no true despair without Hope...

So, as I terrorize Gotham, I will feed its people Hope to poison their souls. I will let them believe that they can survive, so you can watch them clamoring over each other...To Stay in the Sun..You could watch me, torture an entire city. And then when you have truly full understood the depth of your failure, We will fulfill Raz Al Gul's destiny. We will destroy Gotham, and then, when it is done, when Gotham is ashes...

Then you have my permission to die. "

tumblr_m7n8udu1PM1rwwqgho1_500.jpg

still didn't make up....

I actually didn't mind Blake's character so much, although I felt the pull of his story arc to where it ended up to be a bit forced. On this..

Do you know if they've actually queued up a Robin spin-off/sequel, or were they merely opening the door for it you think?

It also struck me more than a few times how much he looks like Heath Ledger, coincidentally. Is it just me?

He does, a little. Maybe a relative or something... Blake, and the half hour he consumed, could have been deleted entirely from the film and the film would have been better...That's what I believe anyway. Also, the actor that played Blake is another empty face for me- he was in inception and I barely noticed his presence. He doesn't have any...

---

Also prison scenes- I found them unbelievable, and resembling something from a completely different movie. The metaphor was highly tortured...! There are much better prison scenes in 'Count of Monte Cristo (2002)' and 'Papillion'.

I can't imagine Joseph gordon levitt being the 'star' of any film... I don't think that there will be a robin film soon, but that's just a guess. Nolan is definitely moving on, though. He's run out of ideas for the batman...

I love Julia Stegner but she seems to have been doing little modeling this year :-( This her first shoot in quite a while:

That being said, I guess it's nice that Toni Garrn is doing well. I like Julia better, though :-p

I have always found Julia as very beautiful - more weird is the fact she never captured me I have no idea why, she is wonderful - just does nothing for me

She's easily in my top 10 or top 20 group of models at any moment. Like Karlie, Frida, Toni and very few others- at 6' 1''-6' 2'' range she's physically above the rest. She has very delicate bone structure and can model a wide variety of styles. She has done a massive amount of modeling! Personality wise, she's not as dynamic as some of the others, but her other features make up for it. She's the physical standard of the ideal blonde to me. I actually think she's a little more beautiful and a better model than Toni. Toni's face comes across as being too big w/certain hairstyles sometimes..her cheekbones are very high So she's best with volumnous, long hair.

Another blonde I really like is Anne V., who isn't as good of a model as Julia, Karlie, Frida, or Toni but she invokes feelings of being a physical standard as well. But she's a blonde of another type. A friendlier type. It's hard for me to vocalize

Oh I've adored Julia and her work for a long time - I've always felt she's been pretty underrated around here. Stunning shoot though, thanks for sharing!

You're welcome Don.

Did you hear about the Total Recall reboot? I screened the cam and it's a pretty standard action flick. No characters, no story, endless action scenes, enormous amount of CGI. Kind of like "I-Robot". A little bit like 'Minority Report' (which I really like) but without its strengths. On a positive note, the 'Blade-Runner' design was what interested me from the trailer, and it's fleshed out quite well here in a few places. A lot of interesting sets but unlike Prometheus, there's not much use of them.

It's shot very, very close to the action, so a lot of the futuristic imagery is unfortunately under exploited.

^Yeah, I dunno. I have such fond memories of the original movie, which is an absolute classic filled with iconic scenes, moments, characters and lines - that just sours this remake from the get-go, despite looking like an entertaining enough action flick on the surface. I still haven't decided if I want to bother going to see it or not.

Were you a fan of the original at all? Something tells me it's not your cup of tea..

^Supposedly the remake is more faithful to the book, but still, I don't think I'm on board for this one. The original FX (though obviously dated) are still memorable - the new trailer just looks like they've taken all the fun out of it.

Have you read the book? I have no idea about it. The remake is completely unfunny, and serious. But Kate Beckinsale is so good looking. :-)

I saw Total Recall maybe 10 years ago, so I don't remember much. I just remember that it was a very weird movie, and pretty unpredictable. Arnold's hallucination in Mars for instance, the mutants, and his drag costume come to mind...!

---------------

I last saw the 'The Avengers', which gets a solid 3 out of 5 from me.

It was strange, yeah. That's what made it so dang memorable. I posted this a little while back in Baron's thread:

Seriously, how many absolute iconic stay-with-you-for-life moments did that movie have? How many you reckon the remake will have?

These two backstage pics of Julia Stegner look pretty conventional, but if you actually view the photo and zoom in, its digital resolution is so good that you can see the individual pores on her face. It's rare that pictures of this quality appear on BZ or the internet for that matter. With resolution this good, all of a sudden Julia appears a little more personable and real- as if one has met her and seen her up close.

If anyone's interested, I have a few Prada advertisements that I want to upload...later...

You know, I have the issue with blondes - I´m just not interested in them I love some - like Marloes or Bregje e.g. but generally, blondes are just SO not my type of girls.

Like I said, I find Julia very, very beautiful - but other than that there is nothing. But I can clearly see why you like her

I just saw this "new" Total Recall on Monday and guys... it was long ago I was SO dissapointed and angry with a movie. The only thing that was watchable in that was (obviously) Kate Beckinsale, that was super-super-super hot. Even fl loved her.

I´m a big fan of the original Total Recall with Arnie - so I was like damn excited to see this one as well, not even saying that my two favourite actors were in - Colin and Kate, oh c´mon, is that a dream? - maybe that was the reason why I ended up so dissapointed.

The whole thing was just extremely unlogical, full of useless dialogs, useless scenes and even more useless "moral talks"... it didn´t make sense at all! It was actually the first purely action movie where I was bored and prayed to God to end it all soon.

Big no

All the time I was like "What was THAT for?" or "Stop talking and kill him finally for god sake!!"

Oh, and yes, eliminating one evil guy will change the whole Earth, for sure. Like there were no others who stood behind his back. Of course. He was the ONLY one.

Other things - people can actually build an elevator THROUGH the earth (bullshit anyone, hello? Have you heard about what happens with Earth if you invade the core?- but hell, it´s a movie, ok) but they are NOT able to restore the unhabitable areas? There were like thousands of amazing inventions, high-level technologies and all this stuff, and on the other hand you have... like... nothing. People living in two areas, and that´s all.

They were chasing and trying to kill Hauser for THE WHOLE FUC*ING TIME and when they finally get him the main evil guy starts to laugh like " HA HA this was my evil plan so I could get the leader of the Resistance ha ha" - and yes, I KNOW he told Lori not to kill him and that she disobeyed but they also tried to trick him with that "this is just your fantasy, kill her" thing - what was THAT for?? If he would do that, he would NEVER lead them to the Resistance, so where was the super evil plan then???

Plus, when they finally had a chance to kill him, they started to "blah blah blah you don´t even know who you are ha ha ha blah blah blah" - ALL THE TIME.

Not even mentioning they were all bullet-proof and unable to be harmed

It was just such a waste of time

About a week ago I was at a concert in a church and saw a girl who reminded me of some model. I was like... Skye Stracke? No, no, there's another one that looks a bit similar (but prettier) and I remembered I must have seen her on one of the models list... I thought I saw her mentioned by you and/or Joe. And then I remembered: Dioni Tabbers! the girl looked so much like her... gorgeous face and hair. I thought she may be 13-16 but when the concert ended I saw her outside the church with some guy who did not look like her could be her brother, rather a lucky boyfriend so I guess she could be 18 or older? He was standing in front of the car and later got in so... I don't know why this surprised me (her supposed age), as strangers usually think I'm at least 3 years younger than I really am, so I guess that was the similar case with this girl.
