So the show was not really successful? Or what did happen?

I don't really know what happened - I don't think the ratings were particularly good (although I guess good enough to last 3 seasons). It's one of those shows though, that everyone who likes it generally loves it. But what I said before is perhaps part of the reason - that much of the story, characters and even jokes were really built up over each successive episode. I guess it wasn't all that accessible to people just coming in half way through the season

I see. I guess that many very good TV series end up because of this

Oh, I see. I only heard of it recently and I watched the 'meat' of it already. I never saw the first one so I plan on watching it later.

Do tell me what you think about it and how it compares to the first one. I'm impressed, but like in Bioshock 2- much of the best creative design work is done intermittently.

I like how the series models what a post-apocalyptic world could look like & how the people live. Before that, I only saw imagined seeing this through film (like Dr. Strangelove and 12 Monkeys).

^Just started playing Last Light last night actually

The first game was excellent - wonderfully atmospheric and immersive (Y)

I'm a few hours into it now. Couldn't really say if it's better or worse than its predecessor - it's pretty on par, and feels like a seamless continuation (which it's supposed to be). The first game really shined at creating a palpable atmosphere and believable world, both in the populated stations and the lonely areas in between. In fact I'd say it was perhaps the best realisation of a real 'lived in' world I'd seen prior to Bioshock Infinite, although obviously much more claustrophobic and smaller in scale. I really like the design of the weapons too - they feel really tactile and a little rough around the edges.

The first game was based off a novel too, if you didn't know.. although I haven't read it.

How are you?

I knoooow, I was totally flushed up because of work, and I did not have energy to post anything else than just useless pictures or senseless posts. Brain-washed.

We usually have more free-time during summer (almost no trade-fairs and exhibitions) but this year we´re going to have this Nissan event that consumes all our time and energy

Thus my absence. I need to manage my time more carefully now, I really missed BZ

how are you, donny? Anything new? Or old?

The aliens are adorable

I hope he does more.. they're better than the 30 second bunnies ones. He should do a 3 minute epic of the LOTR trilogy

Have you made it to the Theater show? I think that's one of the peaks of the whole thing.

I checked out the first one and I think that the second one has better NPCs and settings. The first one is a bit 'too gray', and the 'civilization' isn't really fleshed out as intricately as the second one. Unfortunately, the metro town parts in both are too short.

Metro has strong dialogue. I like the humor and 'Russian-ness' that's embedded in Metro. It's a philosophical attitude that you can only otherwise get from seeing Russian films or understanding a little about their literature. Or having a Russian person explain it to you.

So much of Deus Ex - Human Revolution's story has become blurry in my mind but I do remember replaying a certain sequence four times just so I could save my crashed pilot.

I'd like to pluck my absolute favs here from above but when one has trouble doing so can we just say we love them all equally? Although I do have a slight leaning towards Shanina anytime she is paying with water

Somewhat surprising event to win your second gold metal in .

Of course, despite said milestone, it seems she was still outshined by some other woman named Michelle Jennele or something (who I didn't even see despite being an Olympics fanatic) for some little dance that got edited into a bunch of gifs and such.

Don, who's the first girl?

I was also gifted Rising Storm recently. Haven't tried it yet, though.
