"Once you kill these delusions, they become your friends and help you." "There is no delusion, fantasy, greed, and so on. They all become your family. If this is not done, you spend your life as in a dream, like a ghost dependent on weeds in a forest."
"In a sense human beings are ghostlike; we cannot function without money, social standing, honor, companionship, authority, organization, or an ideology."

"When you harbor philosophical concepts or religious beliefs or ideas or theories or the other..you too are a phantom, for inevitably you are bound to them". Only when your mind is empty of such abstractions are you truly free and independent"
When a man is at his extremity and still strives forward with his whole being, that's when the spiritual break-through will come to him, all of a sudden.
"A moment of yes and no; lost are your body and soul"
"if a thought of discrimination is gone, MU is also gone"

The book of Mu pg. 125- the process of enlightenment:
-Letting go of concepts, you return back to the state of mind you had at birth
- no longer any sense of a difference between inside and outside, self and other.
-On the brink of life and death you are utterly free. Great joy.
-there is no "you" there, so the ability to create is negated.
-The "Great Death" the place of no inside or outside, the truth self is manifested
-We are reborn, and everything we clinged onto are let go. We realize this world of nothing at all in one instant of experience.
-A totally free and infinite functioning. Nothing to be thankful for, Nothing to enter your awareness in any way. In clear awareness there is not even space for a shadow to enter.
-Utterly free. No birth and no death. Even letting go of death. In all modes of life we know great joy. We come all life forms- we know this world, the animal's world, or any other world. We have nothing to be deluded by. We are attached to nothing and are moved around by nothing. To be in hell is like to be in an amusement park.
"It is to realize that the brightness comes from the quality of our awareness

"all good things on this earth have opened their eyes at once
Myriad things under the sun bow simultaneously "

"All kinds of delusionary, illusive, opinionated, and judgmental ideas, which we all have. They are our greatest enemies. You may think they are your greatest allies , protecting you. This is an upside-down view. Heaven helps you when you being truly nothing. "
"perhaps you are ready to let the call of gain, of success in one way or another, fall down a notch or two. Perhaps you're ready for something that has no value"

"all you need to do is step out of your own way. And that's the heart of the problem"

"cut off the mind road" "to study the self is to forget the self"
-stop following your thoughts.
-when we forget the self we stop putting the self as the pillar of our lives
-stop following your thoughts and just watch them & identify their origins .
These origins turn out to be fantasies/constructions of the mind.
-Seeing through these constructions and fantasies we see a "world beyond thought" in which rain is just rain, not words or stories about rain.
da
-We come back to our true life, our true self. This is our naked, unborn self, alive to this moment, alive to this world as it is, not as we think or construct it to be. This sight, smell, touch, taste, this life, this moment, and we along with it- are enough- perfect and complete.

-Ghostlike nature of ourselves- how do we avoid this attaching, this floating like a ghost and clinging.
-we cling to what presents a temporary resting place. The bushes and grasses are our habitual thoughts, our empty entertainments, anything that obstructs us from this moment with opinions and constructs.
-we fall into taking people for granted, not seeing them as they are but what they want to be.
-we cling to what cannot serve us, cannot nourish us.
We are blind to the life that surrounds us, that is "bent kindly to ease us".

"we are truly cultivating an empty field in which the seeds of reality, through hearing teachings and experiencing life as directly as we can, take root in the deepest place eventually to blossom into wakefulness- into the opening of the mind's eye."
"
-it's not that perceiving objects/separateness is bad-
-it's when this obscures the other side of reality, that we are woven into the fabric of life.

-No one has ever figured out MU. MU's purpose is silencing the figuring-out mind.
-MU is inside you, not outside.

on enlightenment:
"the presence of vastness becomes more palatable in the world"
"experience the dreamlike quality of things , the provisional nature of consensus reality"
"reveal the language of the trees, the bright, grainy texture of the air, the way everything blinks in and out of existence too rapidly to see with your usual eyes"
"

"no two breakthroughs begin or unfold in the same way. Sometimes it's not so much a vivid flash as a slow-rising dawn, gently lightening up the sky, it's only after you look back when things become clear"
"sometimes a breakthrough comes when you think it's most unlikely, like when you are fill with pain, illness, or doubt."

"then over time, the intensity of the breakthrough begins to recede, and the concerns of daily life turn back on the tide"
"can you integrate what you've come to know of the vastness with what you've come to see more clearly about the everyday?"
"You find out that you are content with living this human life, and you no longer need things to be different in order to be happy"
"This sound unromantic and small, but to feel this way is to be free"

"an event may come that could transform one's entire way of seeing things, one's understanding of oneself, and the world"
"It may be an explosive event (a flash) ...welling up from a profound sense of inner joy, gratitude, and peace. "
"or it may be a quiet, unobtrusive, externally unnoticeable, emotionally unremarkable event that nevertheless makes a definitive dent in one's inner being, ushering in a deep sense of peace". One sees through things , just as they are. This is called KENSHO"

"seeing one's true nature" is to be sharply distinguished from those things that happen at the level of insight or conceptual realization.
In KENSHO, awakening, there is a paradigm shift of one's being that is bound to make an effect on the way one lives one's life, the way one sees and relates to the world.

-The third fruit is the embodiment of the awakening experience in one's daily life. It is called the body realization of the peerless way.
-This is a way of life grounded in peace, sustained by inner joy, and marked by sense of wonder and gratitude at every turn.
"Ordinary mind is the Way"
-compassion manifests
-for what one see's in one's true nature is none other than the emptiness of self-nature

"do something for its own reward... we are now able to appreciate our life, in every particular movement or act or sensation that we experience, for what it is, for just as it is, and not as a means toward something else. It means that we are no longer attached to the outcome of our actions, but can experience them for what they are"
"in experiencing daily events of our life we are no longer enslaved by the concept of linear time, whereby we are doing things in reference to what they can bring us in the future"
"rather live in the NOW of each moment, glimpse a realm beyond time, a realm that is infinite, opening out in each here and now"

"to practice MU in day to day life is to have an outpouring of one's being in whatever it is that is before us."
- in senses, thinking, and in doing.
"when our awareness is completely filled with MU , when our thoughts are replaced with MU, the habitual flow of energy reverses, flowing outward instead of inward (defensively) "

pure awareness- no thoughts even make the effort to arise. Then awareness of Being Aware disappears. When the witness vanishes, time also vanishes. Cause and effect are one and everything is present, from all places and times. This is the realm of MU.
Mind goes from : complicated mind- simplified- unified- pure awareness- to no Mind.

MU is inside and outside, it bridges conscious and unconscious awareness
It is always in the present moment, it is always available.
The mind is a radio that can turn itself on. When the mind is agitated , Mu is hidden. When the mind settles, MU is revealed.
