No, I didn't. I still have the book, too..I just forgot about it completely!

I'm looking at the list of books I've read in the last year and I'd recommend to you:

1.The Globalization Paradox- US Industrial policymaker compares and contrasts the different institutional structures of the major economies. I really enjoyed this one. Very well written and thought-provoking.

2.The Quest- A big book, IIRC some 700+ pages that summarizes current trends in all energy sectors of the world economy. The intersection between politics, business needs, and the energy markets is explored. It's a must read for anybody with a pulse.............

3.How we got here- Kind of a eclectic, short history of technology and its role in wealth creation. I consider this to be a hidden gem that summarizes the important insights from a large field of research. Best of all, it's a short read.

^

These are the entertaining 'big picture' books of mine that should benefit anybody and everybody by allowing them to understand, with greater detail, the world in which they live in.

You becoming too boring? Ridiculous.

And yeah, I remember that book, I still have it in my wishlist so you did not finish it??

I consider it important to take a step back every quarter or so, and do some research. Sit down and think. You know, just to update current knowledge or find an excuse to explore new areas (such as that 'Thinking fast, slow) book and expand my knowledge on current trends & the big picture by consulting with experts on the matter. Without doing this, a human being can become very single-minded,

Andy I have like 10 books still waiting to be read and you write me another list with things that sound so interesting? Thank you Now I need to widen my wish list. And steal some time from someone. Lots of time I still haven´t read a single more page from Beautiful Mind hmm need to reconsider. Today, I will

Have you ever felt like your head is going to explode? I mean - sometimes, when I look at all the knowledge I would love to gain, I can almost feel the time running so fast. I´m jumping from one theme to another - from psychology to black holes, from black holes to math and economy, from economy to biology, and then I stop and think and my mind is like bubbling and needs a serious reset. So I take a chainsaw and cut the wood, without thinking about anything, or drink

But then again, the urge to read comes again, as inevitable as breathing. I really would love to have a library in my head. I have already forgotten so many things I would like to re-read again, but that is not possible. There are so many new books to explore

One of the polls brought up a huge list- It was so huge and broad that I'd decided to rate it for good measure. It's a great list. I'd like to see if anybody else wants a try:

Feel free to question me about my judgement...

Many are the opposite of me, but I can't question it. You like what you like . Well, I do somewhat wonder how you only like Salmon and Swordfish though as it seems to me that there are tons of other equally tasty fish. That said, it goes back to the you like what you like thing with that as well.

Yes, some of those celebrities are borderline repulsive (like Angelina Jolie) so I simply gave them the 'Do not want' score :-)

What other fish do you like?

Yeah, that's the problem- time. Also, I take a risk with every book that I have, as it might not deliver as much usefulness as I had previously anticipated. The ones I mentioned were useful, though

Depends, I get mental exhaustion when I'm in deep thought/under pressure and this happens a lot while I'm working. So I keep advils handy just in case. As for reading, I'm capable of reading for most of a day without a headache, if I need to.

But then again, the urge to read comes again, as inevitable as breathing. I really would love to have a library in my head. I have already forgotten so many things I would like to re-read again, but that is not possible. There are so many new books to explore

I read a ton of financial filings/journals/screens etc., and my challenge is sorting the wheat from the chaff, and finding discrepancies that can be exploited. Other than that, I read for real-world codified knowledge, and I never read fiction or literature books. I prefer academic organized texts and texts written by people with professional experience.... above all, but even these I try to vet. All nonfiction that I perceive to be useful is game for me. So that psychology book is still on my to-do list.

Recreation: The only ersatz fiction and literature that I read are from comic books, and I don't even really read them. I just download the pdfs and quickly scroll through them. (I last read a Judge Dredd comic after seeing the film). Other things that I consider near-fiction is the newspapers, as it's mostly bullshit/not important/excessively short term and I have to sort through carefully to get factual information. I periodically check out pie-in the sky politics, sociology, and current issues economics books, which are also mostly ideological bullshit/flowery speculation but they allow me to get a feel for the 'zeitgeist' and the current issues that are pressing into society.

Come to think of that, I haven't done the above in a long time and I need to find a few sundays to do that....

My final guilty pleasure, and one that I have done all my life is reading military/ war materials for fun. Everything from WW1 to today is game, and I go down to the granular little details (like equipment/battlefield communications up to tactical theory/org up to strategy/geopolitics). I try not to waste time doing this, but sometimes I cannot help myself.

Thanks. I am not excited about SI anymore (don't like their photography style or this year's cast), but the upcoming VS show has my interest

-----------

I didn't save any of their pictures yet. I haven't screened their threads yet, either. Natasha's body reminds me of Elle Macpearson, but not as 'super'. Isa Asklof is a gorgeous and underrecognized super-blonde, and has only 2 pages, Hannah Holman looks really, really German.

----------------

Random observation: Jessica Hart and Elsa Hosk look like sisters, especially during their dual appearances for VS Pink. Will this be an issue for either of them?

So what did we all think? <_<

It kind of went to script I guess. A whole lot of 'meh', but also some glorious moments.

Shanina & Doutzen both smashed it. Clear standouts of the show for me.

vsfs12_shanina1.jpgvsfs12_shanina2.jpg

vsfs12_doutzen1.jpgvsfs12_doutzen2.jpg

Bregje and Elsa were lovely as ever, and this outfit of Bregje's was wonderful.

vsfs12_bregje.jpgvsfs12_elsa.jpg

Loved seeing Hilary in the show. She's got such a unique way about her, and this outfit of hers was really cute. Didn't like the other one so much though.

Barbara was pretty fantastic.

vsfs12_hilary.jpgvsfs12_barbara.jpg

A couple of the surprises for me, given I'm not a particularly big fan of either..

Frida was beautiful and I thought Miranda looked great in her little Tinkerbell thing

vsfs12_frida.jpgvsfs12_miranda.jpg

Biggest disappointments:

- Lais missing the show

- Maryna, Edita and Marloes (long shot) not making the cut

Without revelling in schadenfreude, Lais' loss was Behati's gain...

It's always annoying (one of many annoyances with the VSFS, I'm sure!) when a girl you take an interest in only gets one outfit. Elsa got PINK-fucked again (a fate that befell Behati for three straight years), but then there was Barbara and Frida too. I don't think I'm alone in wanting to have seen more. With one outfit you get short-changed.

I actually have a great deal to comment, but I say this for now and comment mostly on what I like:

-Didn't like Circus except Karlie. Karlie's outfit was good except for the giant disc

-Dangerous Liasons was my favorite. Behati (who wore Lais' outfit), Constance (wore one of my three favorite looks of the night with one of my favorite wings and overall VS costumes of all time), Magdelena, and Isabeli did great as well.

-Calender Girls- Candice was hot, Frida was more..random than anything else as apparently hers was just a pink bikini and ribbons, Barbara F. looked like a human cartoon with her giant beach ball and hat, Liked it. Behati was a wonderful witch! Just perfect- looks & personality! (Favorite look #2). And Karlie-remove the headdress and you have a tall, sexy cavewoman.

-Pink- Jessica Hart has great legs, JJ looked good but she looked like she took one of the soldier outfits from VS 2005

-Silver Screen-Sui He- just gorgeous and not all controversial and politically incorrect :blueeyedbaby: Magdelena wore beautiful wings.

-Angels in Bloom- Constance wore #3 of my favorite outfits. Very simple, and emphasized her physical perfection. As for the rest: Didn't like the rest.

-Here are a series of diagrams featuring the line-up:

http://vsfsdesigns.w...n-show-line-up/

Here are my top 3:

post-40981-0-39462700-1352437848_thumb.jpost-40981-0-18509000-1352436973_thumb.jpost-40981-0-08747000-1352437007_thumb.j

And my next two favorites:

post-40981-0-03234100-1352437500_thumb.jpost-40981-0-50086200-1352437518_thumb.j

These two outfits are very 'VS' to me, and embody the traditional spirit of the show. I like Mag's aggressive wings almost as much as I like Constance's. Behati's (Lais' actually) outfit is perfect save for the overlarge corset.

Doutzen's poodle thing may be polarizing- some, like me found it a little disturbing but others apparently love it.

As for Hilary and Frida's Debut- I think they could have gotten better costumes. Hilary was ok, but I think they caked makeup on her a bit too much. Frida's height and beauty is always impressive. Both of them can get away with a lot.

So what did we all think? <_<

It kind of went to script I guess. A whole lot of 'meh', but also some glorious moments.

Yep, they are sorely missed. I also miss Flavia

Elsa looks more like a genuine angel than Candice or any of the 'Angels' do. Behati had a good year.

Now I need to get started on the ridicule over demented costumes........that's the fun part..

So was Lais originally lined up to only have 1? Or did they share her other 1/2 amongst the other girls?

Her Silver Screen one was much better. But irrespective of the outfits, she looked absolutely incredible. She's in phenomenal shape right now, and looked beautiful to boot.

Behati's white corset outfit was originally slated for Lais. Out of all the models, Hilary and Doutzen were in the most 'athletic' shape. I'm however, more in favor of Constance's body which I consider perfect for modeling lingere- as it was not overly thin or toned but toned just right.

Doutzen is one of those super popular models that I've always been ambivalent about. I can't sense a personality in her photoshoots so she's hasn't come across as being particularly memorable. Also, I think that she has the nose/eyes of a young girl. ............!

As for the poodle outfit, it reminds me of human to animal transformation so that could be why it's a little disturbing.......

Now that more stills are coming out, these are the three best HD stills so far:

Magdelena may have been, in fact, the best for me:

On a related note, Elsa looked incredible at the after-party.

But my goodness, she must have been freezing during this take. It was very cold with intense wind chills + a few inches of snow on that day.

^Irrespective of whose catwalk it may be, Magdalena tends to own it whatever! She's my HF queen anyway, but she effortlessly segues into VS with aplomb.

Out of all the models, Hilary and Doutzen were in the most 'athletic' shape.

^Yeah, it's not for me. Doutzen looked pretty (and her bum was in fine prominence), but I don't realy like that type of figure. Erin is quite athletic too...

Behati's white corset outfit was originally slated for Lais.

^Yes, don. She was slated for two, the other was Shanina's 'flower' number that you posted. Here're the fitting shots for you anyway:

I wasn't sure if you meant that last bit as a good or bad thing.. probably the latter

She is a doll though, like Emily D

I'm however, more in favor of Constance's body which I consider perfect for modeling lingere- as it was not overly thin or toned but toned just right.

I love that softer body type too, but that super toned 'comic book' body on the right woman drives me wild. Doutzen this year was the most in-shape appearance I can recall since Marisa, who I dearly miss. Constance is one of those models who 'on paper' is really attractive, but I've never really found interesting enough to follow. Toni Garrn is another like that.

^Yes, don. She was slated for two, the other was Shanina's 'flower' number that you posted.

Whoa, now I'm the one with a twang of schadenfreude
