Ah! So much happened. I need to get ready work now. But the subjects that we will be covering include the following...Scams, drug dealers, vigilantes, Thai Mafia, fractured skulls, Island life, laughter, the amazing people I meet, me working at a hostel on the beach, promiscuous escapades, Hangover 2 suite and much much more....

Where do you want me to start

Is it normal that I read 'slaughter' instead of 'laughter'?

Maybe promiscuous escapades?

You've been watching too many late night movies

Trust you to want to hear about the one subject I'm never gonna reveal too much of  There were two girls I traveled with that I, well lets say got particularly close too   (on separate occasions) One was a young finnish girl. Who I met on the island of Koh Lanta. We instantly hit it off and eventually the inevitable happened. Think we travelled for a week together. So by the time we went our separate ways I had most certainly grown accustomed to her company. So inevitably was a little sad when we had to say our goodbyes. But got her on Facebook and we keep in touch. I am hoping to meet up with her in Finland and we are gonna go to this finnish festival. Basically, you just float down a river with a cooler full of beer and drink.

Second girl, Was a lovely swiss girl who I met in Bangkok. Again another girl who I become incredible fond of. She had the most amazing tattoo on her back of a phoenix. But literally all over her back. She was pretty cool girl haha. I only saw her for last couple nights of my adventure. But again like the finnish girl. We really got along with each other. Keep in touch with her too. Hope to see her again someday.

Did you hear about Jared Leto accusing JLaw falling over on purpose at these prestigious events. Saying "Its all an act" Never thought that too be the case. But its an interesting prospective. Just wondered what you thought?

On separate occassions? I thought you'd be telling me threesome stories

I've never heard of this Finnish festival... I wanted to say it sounds cool but then I realized this is not something I would like to participate in

That tattoo sounds impressive, and good thing it wasn't a 'tramp stamp' haha.

I heard people speculating she did it on purpose, but had no idea Jared was one of them? I don't think she did, she's just clumsy like that. I find her to be a good actress but not a very good choice for Dior spokesmodel. I know where they were coming for with the contract, because she's the talented IT girl and the most in-demand actress of the younger generation... but to me, she doesn't represent this kind of glamour at all... same thing with Mila Kunis, who, judging by her paparazzi photos has no interest in being stylish when it is not demanded of her (red carpet appearances).

Really? You had this peach Baby Lips (in purple package) and the colour isn't nice? Good to know since I was considering buying that one once my cherry one 'end' that's the thing about me, I buy a lipbalm/lipstick and soon after am already thinking which one to buy next when one of the current ones 'finishes' I loved it when Nivea had a new one what it seems every season for a few years, but then they slowed down with having new shades/tastes... and now I found somewhere there should be 2 new ones, peach (back after not being produced for years! "woot: ) and watermelon ones! though I cannot find anything on that on their official websites, both Polish and British.... but there were photos of them on a pretty popular cosmetics forum so who knows, once the winter season ends maybe they'll be available to buy?

I'm a blonde, but have honestly no idea how I would describe my shade... it's not very fair ( although it gets lighter in summer, obviously) but not dark either. Wouldn't qualify it as 'ashy' or 'platinum'/Hollywood... I like it but honestly sometimes I feel like it has green undertones if you get what I mean.

I got back to Colossal to discover a few days later the 'double' one is on sale! Haha but I think I'll stick to Colossal for now... I don't put mascara on my lower lashes too often anyway.

That's nice about samples! Did she work for some cosmetics-related brand then? :brows:

We do have quite a range, yes! Fortunately, we don't suffer too many natural disasters, except for floods. And rarely hurricanes, but they are not nearly as bad as what you have every eyar (it seems) in the Caribbean.

Do you still keep in touch with that girl? It's strange, but I don't think we have any Hollister here?!? :| ok, now that I googled it it seems there are at least 2, one in Warsaw and one in Cracow. But I guess they are fairly new?

bahaha yup it was the one in the purple package The actual color was a coralish color...but it came off a little like a shiny tinted weird orange. IDK it didn't look good. As to Nivea....I can honestly say I have not used anything nivea besides maybe some lotion. But they've got alot more correct?

I think I get what you mean...and I understand that greenish almost look. I can't quite describe it either but I've seen it...esepcially during the summer.

And nope my mom just got a monthly order sample thingey going on with them

I do mostly, but recently she started to blow me off And yup the opening of the one in Warsaw is where she got approached to model for them..it was like a year ago or so. But she said she got poloaroids done and everything, and in the end they decided to go with somebody else...shes going to school to be a doctor, but she SO has the model look..

Is this man looking suddenly very big and sexy to you and other poles Layla?

I recall that the champion swimmer, Michael Phelps, also had his days in the sun.  :-)

--------------------

Have you heard of an 'inelastic labor supply' curve when you were a student?  This principle does pan out in real life.  Hollywood A-listers, sports stars, high talent individuals, people with specific/rare skills, highly marketable individuals, or establishment actors in NY have their own brand and reputation for reliability, ease of use, etc,  It's leverage in employment that they can use.  The majority of people are more on the 'elastic' supply curve........... and have much less negotiation power.  This applies elsewhere as well.

The employer and the hiring manager does not always have all the cards in hollywood and they actively seek out actors who are having their day in the sun & and bring in a box office draw or critical acceptance .  Hoffmann and Adams have a good reputation (popular with critics and the latter has a draw) and are the types that have work come to them- not the other way around.

I don't really think actors have too much of a choice who they play with unless they are also producers, so I think the fact Amy and PSH were in a few projects together on the screen is a bit accidental? I mean, after 1 or 2 projects I guess they were cast together as it could be seen they act well with each other... And it's "Enchanted"   though I think her first more prestigious role was in "Catch me if you can", but obviosuly it was "Enchanted" that was the big projects for her.

My candid of Eniko and Natalia:

Do you by any chance know anyone with a Siberian Iris in their possession? Its not too common in the world in general, but grows well in eastern-central Europe.

20z4rrs.jpg

Of course, the national flower of Poland is lovely in its own right even though some consider it to be a weed because it grows wild among crops. It actually sows itself so well that it grew wild between the trenches during World War I . Some seem to think of it as a place with ice and blizzards for whatever reason, but there are some very nice plants there.

So no media blitz about this 'great man'??

Are you implying, do I find them more attracitve? If so, the answer's no; I'm just really happy for their success and proud they represent my homeland.

I guess I might have heard about it, but I am not sure. There's also this strange thing about really good actors doing bad movies, and I've heard rumours it's usually that if they want to play a particular role they want to much, the studio will make them sign for two movies, so like there's this exchange: ok, we'll give you the role of your dreams but you have to play in that s****y film. I heard that was the case of Gwyneth Platrow playing Sylvia Plath only if she agreed to do that flight attendant movie, and Natalie Portman to agree for "No strings attached" to get her part for "Black Swan". Again, I am not sure how much of this is true, especially because Aronofsky told Natalie a whole decade before the movie was made that he wants her to play in his film.

I've heard of similar things although I can't recall much as of right now.  There's also the tendency for some big movie actors who like to do well done independent projects and increase their own circulation, range, and credibility as 'artists...' so they can break through to other roles.  J. Phoenix attempted something like this with 'I'm not There'.  And it's funny how actors are typecasted.  Liam Neeson's role in Schindler's list (early1990s) is still his best, and since then he has done many roles playing what is essentially the same character (wise, patrician man) in many terrible movies...

I also suspect that Day-Lewis is exploiting the universal "Value through scarcity' tactic with his career.  He chooses his roles carefully and after a smashing performance...disappears for a long time while his own 'legend grows'.  The rumors tend to be silly and spread by Day Lewis himself via interviews.  These are then exaggerated by media writers and fans who then construct an acting legend around the man.  Drivel like: Best actor alive....without remembering the fact that he literally does one choice movie every year or two, and can focus his efforts.

If Day Lewis just followed the money and did whichever role... his prestige regarding his perfection would immediately take blows.

How are you hunnie ?

Just about his sport success and the fact that we don't have a professional ice skate rink on which these skaters could practice, so they have to train abroad

DDL may be called the best actor alive because well... does he play in bad movies? I don't think so. It is so weird though if you think how little some great actors play, but it doesn't have to be a 'business against them' thing.

Eh, so-so but not that bad. How about you? Is New York all spring-y now?

You mean (corn) poppy? I remember this girl once said that her grandma had to pay a fine because she had sooo many poppies growing in her garden and thus could produce drugs out of them? Silly...

Argh tell me about it! This whole 'are polar bears walking on the streets?' it's also really stupid when it is asked by a European, I mean really... I heard these stories from my friends living with host families in England and Germany and being asked if cereals are sold in Poland and whether they had vacuum cleaners

Different places seem to have their own laws about 'weeds' or 'wildflowers' seeing as how they can potentially disrupt the ecological balance if unchecked. For example, there are some ordinances about vine weeds especially seeing as how if their seeds spread to a wild area, they can suffocate everything else. LOL @ the drug thing . Well, at least they are both in the Papaveraceae family I guess, so I can understand the confusion with the opium poppy even though they don't look alike.

...it is asked by a European

Well, when I go to New York, I'm asked if I have a car or a horse  , if I hunt boar and so on. I mean, it happens that I do ride horses, don't have a car and hunt boar  . That is I prefer trucks and do hunt invasive species (only) but that was more of a roll of the dice. From there, its whether I use an outhouse or 'privy' and so on...

One thing I find to be interesting about fashion in retrospect is different trends. Well, in this case the 'Brailian Invasion' as some called it. I remember how some female fashion fans were like, 'oh boy another Brazilian' every time one got a new thread and such . On one hand, I know there were some models here and there who maybe just benefited from the trend. On the other hand, one thing I have really come to respect about the 'Brazilian Invasion' is that at least the proof was somewhat in the pudding in a way. Don't get me wrong, by proof I don't mean as in proving it to anyone but at least what people were talking about was there to be seen I guess whereas some are renown for their beauty but don't seem to have many models that I can think of. I hear more about the beauty of France than say the Netherlands and Czech Republic but it seems to me that I can think of way more models from those places despite them having far less people. I'll have to look into it, but that's how it seems at least. One thing that probably helped the Brazilian Invasion too is the fact that at the time more people were starting to have the Internet and many were used to seeing only models that looked a certain way and from certain places. Seeing the more 'exotic' looking ones (compared to the European blonde ones like Hickman ect.) like Lima, Barro ect. may have been somewhat alien to some people at the time.

Before I call someone a 'Greatest Actor' I would appreciate a combination of diversity, difficulty, and depth.  Their body of work must be very large.  Merryl Streep is a great actress to me, and so is Day-Lewis.  But the term 'greatest' actor is very much just buzzwords to me.  How is it defined? What criteria?  So it's hard for me to call an actor who did 2 or so great performances that moniker.  Day-Lewis was iconic in 'There will be Blood'  but I'm not too sure about 'Left Foot' or 'Lincoln'.  'Lincoln' was very well performed, but it wasn't a difficult role at all.  'Left Foot' was Day-Lewis playing a disabled person, but most of us, including myself do not understand that disability enough to judge whether or not his performance was extraordinary.  Unfortunately I never saw the Crucible.  He was serviceable in 'last of the Mohicans' and good in 'Gangs of new york'.

Just my 2 cents   What do you think and who are your greatest actresses and actors?

I know you're not in the market for a new leather jacket dear, but this outfit Edita wearing WORKS.  It's just the standard jacket + scarf + jeans combo but with that voluminous hair & devil's boots ...<3    I also love Julia's outfit here.

well I guess Chris may no longer believe in magic when he's next to her and want anybody else except for Gwyneth </3

There were rumours about them cheating on each other for a long time but I am still surprised about their separation, because I'd think they'd be 'together forever', if only for the image.

I prefer Edita's outfit over Julia's. Sick of seeing these 'leather' leggins.

From the top of my head I'd mention Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett as the ones whose work doesn't seem to disappint.

Yes, Nivea is very popular! Is it widely available in the US as well?

Have you heard about GlossyBox? I've never used it, but basically you have this year long (or single, or half a year, I think you can choose) box of samples and mini-products of new cosmetics sent to you every month, but from what I know, the thing is, you never know what you're going to receive...

I saw billboards of the store recently and it reminded me of your story:)

Oh yeah, Nivea is a super common and available brand here, available pretty much anywhere

Hmm I don't think I"ve heard of Glossybox in particular, but I have heard of sample things like this. I know of BirchBox which is pretty popular here, and is the same premise

Saw this, the only good tip was rinsing with cold water, lol, but sounds good I'm gonna try that to see if it helps at all..

^ hmm there may be something to it. After all, there is a reason why people put face creams in fridge and use them so cold.

I don't know if using just cleansing water is good enough for ME, I am looking for a new face cream to try. I would love to get Biotherm (Leighton's impact!) but even if I used the gift card for Sephora that I got for Christmas I still would have to pay money... I may go back to some pharmacy cream like La Roche Posay (or any similar brand). Then again, I have no idea if that would help. I'd better go to the dermatologist-I don't have any bigger problems with my skin, but the skin on my nose gets dry faster... it's like you can at times see weird layer to peel off

btw, have you checked this Endless Euphoria? I did twice. I thought, after the first time, that it would be 'my' fragrance, but when I put it on the other day it didn't suit me that much

Sweetie, my dermatologist recommended me 'Cerave Cream' and it has worked better than anything else I've used.  A thick cream moisturizer definitely works better than watery or gel moisturizers.   Maybe that can help you dry nose problem?

When my skin gets dry, it mostly gets tinted pink and ichy.

Further to our little chat a while back about funny, interesting and absurd soundbites from footballers, Andrea Pirlo’s new book, ‘I Think, Therefore I Play’ ( ) was recently translated into English and there are some amazing quotes doing the rounds. I can't wait to read it in full.

"Take someone like Antonio Cassano. He says he’s slept with 700 women, but he doesn’t get picked for Italy any more. Can he really be happy? I wouldn’t be."

"Roy Hodgson mispronounced my name. He called me "Pirla" (dickhead), perhaps understanding my true nature more than the other managers."

"I saw Ibrahimovic and Onyewu laying into one another like two bully boys from the roughest estate. They looked like they were trying to kill each other: there were definitely some broken ribs, despite silence and denials from the king's buglers who said it was just a 'lively confrontation'. Those of us who'd witnessed it were put in mind of a mafia-style settling of the scores."

"Park Ji-Sung must have been the first nuclear-powered South Korean in history, in the sense that he rushed about the pitch at the speed of an electron."

"Gattuso's word was law at Milan, and anyone new to the club was aware that the first thing they had to do if they made a mistake was explain themselves to him. Just having that knowledge drastically reduced the chances of people fucking up."

"Caressing the ball at the World Cup final was something I had to do. I lifted my eyes to the heavens and asked for help because if God exists, there's no way he's French. I took a long, intense breath. That breath was mine, but it could have been the manual worker who struggles to make it to the end of the month, the rich businessmen who is a bit of a shit, the teacher, the student, the Italian expats who never left our side during the tournament, the well-to-do Milanese signora, the hooker on the street corner. In that moment, I was all of them. You won't believe me, but it was right in that very moment I understood what a great thing it is to be Italian. It's a truly priceless privilege."

"You're then forced to tell the media a lot of crap; provided, of course, that they manage to ask you the right question. If they enquire whether it's right you'd practically signed for Madrid, you are duty-bound to respond hiding behind well worn clichés and half truths. You read a dull, lifeless script written by press officers with no talent or creative spark. “No, that's not the case. I'm perfectly happy in Milan.” Fuck off!"
