Hoffmann was a real New York actor.  So is Amy Adams (seen very highly by young aspiring actresses- including one that I dated..) and countless other A-listers.  Both have two decades plus of theater and film experience. When I was living in Manhattan, Hoffmann would give lectures at the New School University and Tisch School of Arts.  'Inside the Actor's studio' was filmed at the New School and I remember that they did a session with him.  He also involved himself with mentoring young actors.   Every time I think of them, I think the students of 'Shakespeare in the Park'.  During spring/summer/fall, they'd often perform live..right there outdoors at Washington Square Park,Central Park, and other places.  It's a place for aspiring actors to prove their mettle.

In 'Along came Polly'- I haven't seen this film since its theater release so my memory of the details is hazy.....but it's nostalgic and accurate. He plays a man with a day job, an arts education, and local theater lover who has a passion for acting in community theaters but never makes it a career.  There's a lot of real-life connection here to people like Hoffmann or Amy Adams (who struggled a long time before getting her big break in Disney's 'Enchantment'.)

New York actors like to work together so that's why you often see them getting billed together.

This 'real women have curves' is so annoying, especially since it seems that not everyone has the same definition of curves? For example, a woman has big breats but a pancake ass and

she would be labeled as 'curvy'... Anyway if real women have curves then I'm glad to say I'm an alien

This 'likeability' and beauty observation is interesting, I guess if we find somebody kind and admirable we may be quicker to call them beautiful instead of 'man's ideal' girl if she's a

b****.

Since we're all white here I guess every non-white person is seen as exotic especially black/mixed with black.

I know there's some 'Miss Exotica' pageant on Valentine's Day in one of the shopping malls... they probably take basically every African/Latin American woman studying here to take part in it

If you were born in mixed marriage or your origin is of a different nation and you support the ideology of Miss Egzotica – feel welcome to take part in Miss Egzotica 4th edition (2014 year). Finals: 14 February in Blue City in Warsaw. You don’t need to have Polish nationality, You can be married with children. You don’t need to speak Polish.

I just found it on the competition's website... also, the 'ambassadors' so you may take a look who was qualified there. Have to say that some of them don't look exotic to me though. Maybe that's the photos? Victoria (looks old in these photos, like about to turn 40), Kristina (what is she doing there? She's from Belarus, that's the country bordering with us, how exotic lol), Lenka, Hanna (Belarus again...ok). You can see more of them here:

http://www.missegzot...pl/ambasadorki/

Interesting that the ones with African origin are mostly from Congo or Kenya and I guess it is pretty easy to guess which ones are half white and which aren't? It's not said there but I 'see' it.

I could write an essay on how stupidit and annoying the 'real women' thing, but you summed it up well enough . That is an interresting point too about how people define their curves. Sometimes its a woman with like you said just a big top only and sometimes its a slightly 'plus size' woman with flat both. To me, an hourglass figure is more of a curve than a boob or a belly .

For some reason the term 'Miss Egzotica' sounds like a striper competition to me . Even though the idea sounds kindof funny, it does sound like an interresting way to have a spotlight for different groups in a place of few other groups. Anyone can see that Sirun is the most exotic looking :morning: . Overall, I find multiracial people to be the most exotic looking. With biracial people on the other hand, I don't find half black/half white to be exotic looking any more than anyone else. I do find Asian mixed with anything to be generally exotic looking. I must clarify that I'm not saying exotic is a 'look' necessarily as much as what is exotic to me. On the other hand, obviously any individual can be unique looking.

Hmm let me see... I don't wear much make-up everyday, but I love lip products so I have quite many of them (about 10... or maybe that's not a lot for some?) but on every day basis use probably only 2-3, as the rest looks better during summer or are way to strong to use during the day. My favs are Maybelline, Avon, Nivea... and for eyelashes, I used Avon's mascara, that 'funny' short one but I think I'll switch to Maybelline again... I think it was Collosal Volume? Definitely brown and not waterproof.

Nails-Sally Hansen is pretty good. Sometimes I buy Inglot nail polishes... Inglot is a Polish brand and I love how it seems like they got every possible colour!

Describing my style would be pretty difficult, because I have no idea who to compare it to. When I was more into modeeling, around 2007, I remember I liked Doutzen Kroes' style because she seemed not to wear black a lot, and wear dresses and skirts quite often. I haven't followed her street style lately but I guess it may be different now? I usually wear skirts, even in winter.... ESPECIALLY in winter I would say.

In terms of lip color what do you find the most flattering on yourself? Some girls look beautiful in red, others deeper colors, and some just lovely in nudes!

Avon and Maybeline have great mascara! They are the only ones I ever use besides Benefit..I can't think of the latest Maybeline one I have, but its got two ends one for the top lashes and a small one for the bottom lashes. The same one? Sally Hanson is great, I always buy their nail strips...they literally don't chip for two weeks and you can get them in a ton of cool designs!

I cannot stress though enough how fabulous Bare Minerals has been to me! Have you heard of them? Its a foundation brand, and I used to use alot of liquid makeup and my redness would always show through after an hour...this bare minerals stuff stays on ALL DAY and blends so wonderfull! If you havne't heard of it check it out

I'm trying to recall doutzens style, but I can't remember it that much For some reason though I remember her wearing alot of black Though that might have been her style more recently.. And UGHH I love skirts and dresses! How cold does it get where your from? Your from poland, correct? I have so many cute skirts and dresses and things I want to wear, and I have tights and leggings and always set them out, then I wake up, and I'm just like "its way to cold for this shit" I'm just gonna be straight up uncomfortable all day

Hmm I guess it really depends on what I am wearing and what season it is currently. I have this nude/beige lipstick from Avon, I think its shade name is beige nude? I find it quite lovely but don't really wear it in winter when I am more pale. I use it in summer/when I am more tanned.

I don't think I look good in red, I bought that one red lipstick once and my parents said I looked like a clown in it I have a coral lipstick, but I wouldn't classify even darker coral ones as red... ok, they are more red than, let's say, pink, but it's still not 'typical red'.

Overall, I guess I look best with coral/brown-ish colors? I don't like myself in shades that are too bright (so no 'freeze pink' for me!) unless I am tanned. I like to have a bit of colour. Oh and I also love the shade Maybelline's Baby Lips Cherry Me gives.

I know which one you are talking about! Colossal is in 'yellow package' so this 'double mascara' is different... would you recommend it? As for Benefit, I tried this 'falsies'? (don't remember the name) one on once but I didn't see my lashes looking better than with other mascaras. I guess I expected greater effect

The thing about nail polishes is... when I read something lasts for 10 days, or 2 weeks, I think 'cool', but then I realize I am usually bored with what I have on after 4 days... doesn't mean I like when it gets bad after 2 days, ugh!

I heard of it fortunately, I don't have much problems with the tone of my skin, it's rather about small spots in different places on my face these mineral foundations are generally good, my mum has Clinique one and she's very happy with it.

Yeah, seems like models wear lots of black, and I try to avoid that Yes, I am in Poland. It can get REALLY cold, but this winter isn't that harsh so far. Of course, it also depends what region you're in. A few weeks ago I went to the south (region with mountains) and it was sunny, with almost no snow while Warsaw had snow and strong winds! But today the temperature was above 0 C degrees... it was way too sunny for winter to me

I find nudes work alot better in the summertime too....it gives a more of a natural "sunkissed" look. Now that I think about it, its really hard for me to think about alot of people wearing red lips in the summer. Corals a pretty universal color, as long as it doesn't favor more towards the orange side..I like Baby lips too, though I got a coral/brownish color, and it was just an ugly color

What color is your hair?

yeah thedouble sided Maybeline mascara I'm recommending is purple and black! I do know the colossal one your speaking of But I would totally reccomend this one

And so your thing is more spots then? I have some of those too, but my main issue is redness My mother used to get a monthly supply of Clinique samples

One of my best friends is Polish, she was a foreign exchange student when we were in high school! She actually got asked to model for some Hollister opening in Poland Sounds like you have as much weather range as the US

And I watched the video without sound and was afraid it was at some private school but it was in SGH?!?   Is it me, or there was no date given in the video, of when the lecture took place? SGH is probably the best economy university here.

Really? You had this peach Baby Lips (in purple package) and the colour isn't nice? Good to know since I was considering buying that one once my cherry one 'end' that's the thing about me, I buy a lipbalm/lipstick and soon after am already thinking which one to buy next when one of the current ones 'finishes' I loved it when Nivea had a new one what it seems every season for a few years, but then they slowed down with having new shades/tastes... and now I found somewhere there should be 2 new ones, peach (back after not being produced for years! "woot: ) and watermelon ones! though I cannot find anything on that on their official websites, both Polish and British.... but there were photos of them on a pretty popular cosmetics forum so who knows, once the winter season ends maybe they'll be available to buy?

I'm a blonde, but have honestly no idea how I would describe my shade... it's not very fair ( although it gets lighter in summer, obviously) but not dark either. Wouldn't qualify it as 'ashy' or 'platinum'/Hollywood... I like it but honestly sometimes I feel like it has green undertones if you get what I mean.

I got back to Colossal to discover a few days later the 'double' one is on sale! Haha but I think I'll stick to Colossal for now... I don't put mascara on my lower lashes too often anyway.

That's nice about samples! Did she work for some cosmetics-related brand then? :brows:

We do have quite a range, yes! Fortunately, we don't suffer too many natural disasters, except for floods. And rarely hurricanes, but they are not nearly as bad as what you have every eyar (it seems) in the Caribbean.

Do you still keep in touch with that girl? It's strange, but I don't think we have any Hollister here?!? :| ok, now that I googled it it seems there are at least 2, one in Warsaw and one in Cracow. But I guess they are fairly new?

also, do you have any idea what's the name of Canada's ski jumping coach? My mum was like 'what a fine man, you can already see he seems very laid-back' haha, google says it's Gregor Linsig but the images there don't really match to what I see when there are jumping competitions on tv?!?! You can see him at 0:05 for a few seconds.

Obviously I wouldn't say he looks THAT nice in this video, but still, really different from what you can get by searching for images on 'Gregor Linsig'

That's as much as I could find on it really It's kinda hard to find that information sorry.

Uhmm, I didn't like the olympics here, I thought it would be bad for tourism and i thought it was a bit of a waste of money and other resources that we had higher priorities on. The olympic village the taxpayers had to pay for all of it cause no-one bought anything and we seemingly have had less tourist then ever in the last four years I was only really excited for the Ice hockey as i just didn't like them being at home But i'm enjoying Sochi. It's fun so far!

Hmm I saw that link before but this Taylor is a female ski jumper, not the team's coach you know this saying, 'knowledge starts when google can't give you the answer' and it's so strange to me there's so little info about Canada's coach and/or his photos!

Who were/are you rooting for? I guess hockey, but what about other sports(men)?

Vancouver is definitely the place I'd like to visit most if I were to visit Canada, but about tourism... it has this big disadvantage with its location. I guess it's sort of more accessible (and cheaper) for people from Asia to visit it, but not necessarily for Europeans and Africans (longer journey which would probably cost more money too, etc).

Is this man looking suddenly very big and sexy to you and other poles Layla?

I recall that the champion swimmer, Michael Phelps, also had his days in the sun.  :-)

--------------------

Have you heard of an 'inelastic labor supply' curve when you were a student?  This principle does pan out in real life.  Hollywood A-listers, sports stars, high talent individuals, people with specific/rare skills, highly marketable individuals, or establishment actors in NY have their own brand and reputation for reliability, ease of use, etc,  It's leverage in employment that they can use.  The majority of people are more on the 'elastic' supply curve........... and have much less negotiation power.  This applies elsewhere as well.

The employer and the hiring manager does not always have all the cards in hollywood and they actively seek out actors who are having their day in the sun & and bring in a box office draw or critical acceptance .  Hoffmann and Adams have a good reputation (popular with critics and the latter has a draw) and are the types that have work come to them- not the other way around.

I don't really think actors have too much of a choice who they play with unless they are also producers, so I think the fact Amy and PSH were in a few projects together on the screen is a bit accidental?

But I guess they are fairly new?

bahaha yup it was the one in the purple package The actual color was a coralish color...but it came off a little like a shiny tinted weird orange. IDK it didn't look good. As to Nivea....I can honestly say I have not used anything nivea besides maybe some lotion. But they've got alot more correct?

I think I get what you mean...and I understand that greenish almost look. I can't quite describe it either but I've seen it...esepcially during the summer.

And nope my mom just got a monthly order sample thingey going on with them

I do mostly, but recently she started to blow me off And yup the opening of the one in Warsaw is where she got approached to model for them..it was like a year ago or so. But she said she got poloaroids done and everything, and in the end they decided to go with somebody else...shes going to school to be a doctor, but she SO has the model look..
