Ok, so I admit wikipedia really said it was 'steak and blow job day' but I thought they meant it like 2 separate days, not one... steak and blow job? I feel like it's some kind of slang (for 'steak' that is) I am not aware of and I don't know if I should look it up or the steak in this case is as literal as it can get. See the photo you posted. btw everything is wrong about this photograph, like seriously, whyyyy

yeah, where are they? Berno was supposed to work as a mod... and Laffy disappeared long before he did... hmm...

I remember Berno, shortly after he was made a mod- made an impassioned couple of posts about what a good mod he was going to be.  Nevertheless, the reality sets in and steamrolls the rhetoric.  I believe that both Berno and Carmelita left BZ and gave up this hobby to avoid having to 'work' as moderators and also not have to be pressured to work.  I wouldn't be surprised if they lurk BZ at their leisure but decided to no longer post.    I miss Carmelita.

I've been on this forum since 2010.  I remember Berno was a very big-time poster back then.  I remember him because he populated the Marloes and Ginta Lapina threads.

Laffy?  I think I've seen her post a little but overall she must have been on her way out when I came in.

About the Grammys... I thought Kendrick Lamar would take at least one award home?

And obviously Adele won for the best song written for visual media... no surprise.

Being completely honest, I didn't have any special favourites this year or kept my fingers crossed for somebody but I am glad that a Polish person was awarded. Włodek Pawlik won for the best large jazz ensamble for his album "Night in Calisia." It is obviously not reported as widely as Pop or Rap categories but it is a bgi success inded! Congratulations!

When I was a violinist, Chopin was my favorite Polish composer.  I liked his piano solo pieces (I played some piano, too).

Hilary Rhoda and the actresses in 2009.  The Estee Lauder campaign slogan was 'beauty at any age' or something like that...Naturally, Hilary was the youngest age group.  Gwen came after, and then it was either Elizabeth or the woman at the far right:

Something that never ceases to fascinate me is the phenomenon of female opinions of female looks. Well, obviously gay men have their opinions about man looks, but it isn't the same. That is both gay and straight women have their strong opinions that is. When I was a kid and first noticed or had my first disagreement with a girl on the subject rather, I was like,'I'm a boy, how can you tell me?! Then with time, I found that I agree with the female side a lot . This may sound like a traitor to the men, but sometimes I find it more and more. Obviously women have their biases too. That is many women have a tendancy to idealize qualities that are somewhat like them just a 'better' them if that make sense. In other words, not many non-curvy women go around saying 'real women' have curves and non-curvy women seem to be more likely to idealize women who look like them just maybe more fit or something. Then there's those in the middle with a low opinion of their own looks who may idealize those totally opposite. Then there's others in the middle who may have a great self image but just consider themselves to be more objective. Long story short, I still find myself agreeing with women I find . Well, its not as bad in regular life. Online, when I see posts from men's magazine type sites and compare then to the average woman on fashion sites, I often agree with the female side at least when referring to the same woman. I've never been a regular poster on he 'men's' sites, but I've seen their posts where they counted down to Miley Cyrus' birthday whereas the woman side says she's average. I completely agree with the woman side on that. Not only that, the woman side doesn't seem to give extra points for jailbait appeal, so that's a huge plus to the woman side. On the other hand, some women do give some extra points to women they admire. Like some women who like Katy Perry's music say she's 'beautiful.' Obviously I don't find her the least bit pretty although the smile isn't bad. In such cases, its hard for me to tell whether they're just saying that because they like her or whether they would say the same if she were a men's magazine model. Mind you, I'm not saying that there aren't women who hate her and her music who still consider her to be beautiful as much as some just look for reasons to compliment people they generally like. Her popularity with the men seems to be more for the body and I'm forced to agree with the man side on that (her body being better than her face). I probably like a wider range of bodies than the average from both sides. On one hand, I do like curvy bodies, but also slim too. I also like athletic woman bodies too. With more muscular female bodies, I actually do prefer some curves because they are probably more needed for balance in that case. With the softer body of say a Volleyball player or Tennis player, I don't think it matters as much. Long story short, what is your take? Obviously there are many men I agree with, but I continue to be surprised at how many women I agree with too .

I did't expect that to look so long . That said, I was curious what you thought about this subject of 'exocic' looks. On here, there is the whole cliche of patronizing a 'Latin' woman with it. 'Such and such may be exotic, but such and such is a real classical beauty.' I'll just bypass the soap box of how I feel about the use of the term classic beauty and move to the main point of the use of the term exotic looks. I originally thought exotic meant unusual to the person looking at it. For example, I always thought Brazilians mixed with various things were exotic because I don't know anyone else that looks like that. For example, to me Adriana and Ana BB are exotic whereas I don't think of say Alessandra as being exotic as much. That's not to say she isn't unique looking but at least I don't think of her as being exotic. With Hispanic women though, some say that they are all exotic on the other hand. I can see if you're from some place where you don't see them much. If you do see them on a regular basis, then I don't get it. Long story short, I don't see how anything one sees in big numbers regularly can be generalized as exotic. For me, multi-racial people whose 'race' I can't distinguish are exotic and people from Slovakia, Belarus and Serbia and exotic because I don't seen anyone who looks anywhere close to like many of them in my everyday life
for the most part.

That's nice! His music is great.

'The woman at the far right' is Carolyn Murphy. And from these 4, I think Elizabeth had been working with the brand the longest? Unless you meant that Hurley is older than Paltrow, which is true anyway.

There was this interview with Anja Rubik maaaany years ago (circa 2007-2008, I think), when she was quite popular, but still before the short haircut that she said she almost became Estee Lauder's spokesperson but Gwyneth eventually agreed for bit less money so they took Gwyneth insetad and Anja was 'mad' at her. Rubik became one of their models not much later so she was in 'Beautiful' parfum ad, posing as a bride.

Bye

Hey Hey

Haha, that 'bye' at the end killed me!

Hmm let me see... I don't wear much make-up everyday, but I love lip products so I have quite many of them (about 10... or maybe that's not a lot for some?) but on every day basis use probably only 2-3, as the rest looks better during summer or are way to strong to use during the day. My favs are Maybelline, Avon, Nivea... and for eyelashes, I used Avon's mascara, that 'funny' short one but I think I'll switch to Maybelline again... I think it was Collosal Volume? Definitely brown and not waterproof.

Nails-Sally Hansen is pretty good. Sometimes I buy Inglot nail polishes... Inglot is a Polish brand and I love how it seems like they got every possible colour!

Describing my style would be pretty difficult, because I have no idea who to compare it to. When I was more into modeeling, around 2007, I remember I liked Doutzen Kroes' style because she seemed not to wear black a lot, and wear dresses and skirts quite often. I haven't followed her street style lately but I guess it may be different now? I usually wear skirts, even in winter.... ESPECIALLY in winter I would say.

This 'real women have curves' is so annoying, especially since it seems that not everyone has the same definition of curves? For example, a woman has big breats but a pancake ass and she would be labeled as 'curvy'... Anyway if real women have curves then I'm glad to say I'm an alien

This 'likeability' and beauty observation is interesting, I guess if we find somebody kind and admirable we may be quicker to call them beautiful instead of 'man's ideal' girl if she's a b****.

Since we're all white here I guess every non-white person is seen as exotic especially black/mixed with black.

I know there's some 'Miss Exotica' pageant on Valentine's Day in one of the shopping malls... they probably take basically every African/Latin American woman studying here to take part in it

If you were born in mixed marriage or your origin is of a different nation and you support the ideology of Miss Egzotica – feel welcome to take part in Miss Egzotica 4th edition (2014 year). Finals: 14 February in Blue City in Warsaw.

You don’t need to have Polish nationality, You can be married with children. You don’t need to speak Polish.

I just found it on the competition's website... also, the 'ambassadors' so you may take a look who was qualified there. Have to say that some of them don't look exotic to me though. Maybe that's the photos? Victoria (looks old in these photos, like about to turn 40), Kristina (what is she doing there? She's from Belarus, that's the country bordering with us, how exotic lol), Lenka, Hanna (Belarus again...ok). You can see more of them here:

http://www.missegzotica.pl/ambasadorki/

Interesting that the ones with African origin are mostly from Congo or Kenya and I guess it is pretty easy to guess which ones are half white and which aren't? It's not said there but I 'see' it.

OH MY GOD PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN DIED!!!

apparently it was drug overdose... I know that last year he admitted himself to rehab to help with his heroin addiction... sadly we can see the addiction wasn't over...

He'll be truly missed but hopefully many people will still remember him from his fantastic movie roles...

Why did he have to die after I watched 'The Master'?  (N)

He was one of those actors that had presence in almost everything he did- like Christopher Walken.

====================================

Haha, I knew she was familiar.  The campaign put the women in age order based on demographics.  Hilary represented women in their 20s.  Gwen, 30s, Murphy, 40s, and Hurly, 50s.  Or it's Hurly 40s and Murphy 50s? That was my confusion.

That's odd that you mention Anja because she is too young to replace Paltrow.  I would have thought that the competition was between Hilary and Anja. Still, you remember these little details so well........!

That is a talent, you know.  Personally, I cannot memorize little details from articles I read 4 years ago..!: )  I've always wondered dear..do you remember these details because they are your passion (memories imprint themselves much more strongly on things that we are greatly interested in) or do these tendencies extend to everything else??

He was a true talent and I cannot remember any bad film/role of his. Obviously there are many films with him which I have yet to see... still, Philip's acting was a real craft! And didn't he play with Amy Adams in at least 3 films? Definitely "The Master" and "Doubt"... and "Charlie Wilson's War" (that last one I didn't remember, just googled it)

Nah, it wasn't like 'Anja or Gwyneth' for a specific age group, just representing Estee Lauder for parfum ads I think.

Maybe the former... it's hard to say. I thought I have good memory, but lately I mix things all the time. Or maybe that's because I ask the same thing too many people at once and then I seem to never remember who did what etc.
