  That was a great cover too.   I'm definitely one for letting artists be what they say they are. Well, except Avril Lavine.  What do you think about that line between really commercial Hard Rock and "Soft Rock"?  I have had discussions about where bands like Kansas and Foreigner are. I think Kansas is like right on the outside. Well, probably not "soft" but just progressive. Obviously there are Hard Rock progressive bands whose hardness is pretty evident. Foreigner on the other hand...maybe the minimum, but just in there.

It's a rather blurry line actually... On Kansas's case I'd just consider them as progressive, maybe softer than other prog bands but progressive rock in the end.

But the "Soft Rock" label I tend to use it in a more pejorative manner  mostly associating it to bands I don't like that much and that I find boring. Foreigner being a really good example  

Maybe I make that association because I find the term "Soft Rock" to be kind of contradictory in nature.
