I'm pretty sure the last two posts weren't written by me (I mean, the sentences you quoted) but ok...

Maybe it got good to me but you get the poing .

Sometimes I get the feeling that people are afraid especially of those animals which are even more frightened by humans lol. Mice, spiders, lynx

Oh, nice one then! I like it A tall glass of water. Have you seen her new vid? Looks way too good

I didn't but that's one of the hottest commercial ones since her VS commercials. She's a delicious one isn't she? I wanted to make a list of most delicious models awhile ago, but was afraid the phrasing would make them look like meat . Yeah, many are afraid of humans and only experiment with human meat when going gets tough . I have several pet spiders. They can be difficult to keep up with, but when they find a spot they like, you can set your watch to them . Well, I refer to them as pets when they're really in their natural habitat and I just feed them.

My Top 10 Scarriest Movies

Disclaimer: This is not 'best' or 'favorite' although I think some would make a best list as well.

I said before that I had to watch a couple first just in case they would need to be added. I've always been a fan of horror and suspense movies. Some rely on blood and guts, but having been on a few farms, I can't say that blood and guts is enough for me to call it scary. Some rely almost exclusively on gore at the expense of actual suspense or anything else. There are of course times where the two go together of course . Some are great movies in general such as 'Psycho' and others such as 'Shaun of the Dead' even mix humor in well. It must also be said that I am a huge fan of the horror monsters, but this is not favorites mind you.

- Every good stalker woman movie - I've had the misfortune of having a stalker, so these really hit home. Having a female stalker is scarier than some women may think. For one, people generally don't take you seriously and on the other hand, you are reluctant to hit them because they're a woman. Of course, in the case of Misery, she was stronger than he was.

- Its Pat

- Nosteratu (20s) - despite advancements in technology, the creepiest vampire to me is still the one from way back in the 1920s. Salem's Lot was pretty creepy too though.

- Every other good creepy kid movie

- Nightmare on Elm Street - though it got played out, the idea of being killed in your dreams is still a scary concept.

- The Brood (1970s)

10. The Descent (2000s) - I'm not particularly claustrophobic, but just imagining being in their shoes hit more moreso than the plight of say Friday the 13th or Saw.

th_120965725_10the_descent_1294_123_195l

9. Fire in the Sky (90s) - I'm not particularly afraid of the prospect of there being aliens as much as the idea of being 'experimented' on. This movie really explores the idea. Alien is both a better movie and has superior aliens, but this one plays heavily on the fear of being experimented on.

th_120960724_9fire_in_the_sky_123_22lo.j

8. Poltergeist (80s) - Though I've seen tons and most of the one's from say the past 15 years in particular, this is one of the ones I had to watch to solidify my credibility for making the last. It also proves that you don't need heavy gore to have some good scares. This one's only PG in fact.

th_120957237_8poltergeist_movies_1855761

7. Ju-on (2000s)

th_120951981_7juon14932_12868_644_436_12

6. Ringu (90s) - the creepier Japanese version that The Ring was based on.

th_120946109_6ringu_1_123_220lo.jpg

5. Precious (2000s)

th_120943581_5precious_01_123_519lo.jpg

4. Cujo (80s) - I've had the misfortune of witnessing a rabid dog but we still all know that this could and has happened. As to this case, St. Bernards are great family pets, but their size plus rabies is a bad mix obviously.

th_120940255_4cujo1b23456_123_396lo.jpg

3. The Birds (60s) - I see birds migrating in droves every year and its hard to not think about this one. Of course, brilliantly directed like all of his movies.

th_120936351_3Birds23456789_123_533lo.jp

2. The Omen (70s) - the sequel is pretty scary too, but kids are creepier than teenagers.

th_120933536_2omen191521__omen_l_123_490

1. The Exorcist (70s) - another one I had to watch to solidify my cred to make the list. There's admittedly a couple others, but I've seen a lot anyway.

Any progress on this?

I had them all on my photobucket account, but my bandwidth is exceeded. I should still have them somewhere though. We were told not to use some formats, but I forgot their exact names. I'll have to get that too. Great idea about the anime thing .

Gemma ward has one in the oven now, did you know? !

I was going to do scariest movies of the 21st century, but realized there were too many candidates I haven't seen. On top of that, some are more gross than scary. Instead, Muppets that still scare the crap out of me . Strangely enough, I always found most actual horror movies to be more gross and funny than scary. That said, these guys creeped me out big time.

7. Augrant

th_982468554_augrauntitled_122_89lo.jpg

2. Skeksis - There are around 20 variations with each as creepy as the last. There's no denying the genius and artistry at work here (as with them all), but yikes. I still get the same feeling when I see it as when I saw it originally. Truly brilliant work though.

^EVERYTHING in The Dark Crystal is scary! 38573061.gif

I mean, those gelflings, the mystics, those podling people... It is (as you say) a brilliant piece of work - but it still gives me the heeby-jeebies even now!

1. Uncle Deadly - Not technically creepier than Skeksis, but still scarred me the most.

LOL, good call on the Poltergeist, I didn't think of that for some reason although I've only seen it once. Good call on the whole of Dark Crystal too although the whole of Treasure Island does the same for me although it wasn't intended in that way . I was going to do top 10, but the prospect of investigating who all is natural or separating the great overall looks but not as impressive hair from the ones whose hair is the main thing and the looks from talents, intangibles ect. was too much, so it became...

Random Redhead Tribute

Redheads occupy an interesting place in the world of 'beauty'. In some places, there's the 'redheads are ugly' saying and opinions seem to be strong whether positive or negative. Baron referred to them as the 'last persecuted race' in a previous discussion as even in our increasingly PC world, it still seems okay to make fun of them openly. On one hand, the justification for the blonde craze is generally, 'because its more rare than brown and black' despite the fact that red is actually the greatest minority. This isn't to say that such has any bearing on what someone likes or doesn't but only to highlight the nonsense of said statement. Having said that, I can't say that I find the group to be more attractive than others. There are extremely attractive and those less so like other groups. On one hand, being slightly above average with nice red hair goes a long way to adding a few extra points to that slightly above average on my end anyway . That said...

^I was very disappointed to find out that two of my favourite TV redheads, Deborah Ann Woll and Christina Hendricks (both of whom you have posted up there) aren't actually real redheads at all - they're both blondes!    I guess they figured the colour would give them some edge? I have to admit I find it hard to see them as anything else, even knowing the truth... Not that it would prevent me from any 'collar and cuffs' quandary should a fantastical situation present itself. pimp.gif

^Yes, I was toying with a similarly Hallowe'en inspired 'Top 10 Damsels In Distress That I Had The Hots For' - but I couldn't really get past Gina Phillips in Jeepers Creepers and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in, well, just about anything to flesh it out!

Ju-On and Ringu would also be on my list though, and probably both their (Japanese still, obviously) sequels too. I tend to rate them in terms on what makes a lasting impression on me after the credits roll, and for that I'd add The Mist. It's not scary per se, but in terms of how depressed I felt afterwards and found it hard to sleep it warrants a mention...

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about blonde being their natural color. I wasn't surprised with Hendricks, but I was somewhat surprised with Woll seeing as how hers was so well done and she seemed to have somewhat pasty skin. I slept on Creepers, though because I was sleepy rather than not being into it. I definitely have a liking for Winstead too. Being the possessor of a super cute face and nice body, she's also believable as the 'I think I'm too cool' indie rock woman as well. Kelly Brook in Piranha, Mary Elizabeth Winstead in The Thing, Rose McGown in Planet Terror, Jordan Ladd in Cabin Fever and Jessica Alba in Idle Hands come to mind. There's also tons who's names I just don't know. I also had 'Greatest Screams in a Horror Movie' but could never really decide on a proper criteria. On one hand, there's the scream that is impressive due to its volume and then there's those that convey the most terror. Then on top of that, the competition was somewhat tough even though probably somewhat tougher from the 80s backward than the 90s forward. The Japanese definitely know how to do horror and as a result those sequels do indeed deserve a mention. I tend to give sequels their due for longer lists but then it gets tricky for 'worst movies' when you have to decide how many Friday the 13th sequels you're going to allow .

^Well with Friday The 13th I'd be inclined to say none of them! Those sort of films I don't find quite so scary, they make you jump at the time, but after...

Good call on Cabin Fever, though I think I preferred the other one at the time. She didn't end up quite so pretty, did she?! Now I think about it more I should have mentioned Odette Yustman and Odette Yustman's Bum in The Unborn.  (Y)

That is for 'worst movie list' as in I wouldn't be sure whether to put parts 2 on up as one spot or not. She's usually the death (no pun intended) of a tv series, but maybe the horror film is a good niche for her now that I think of it.

As I said before, my lists are all 50-100 or more, but I reduced them to 10 to conform to forum culture. That said, I couldn't skimp on this one seeing as how it is so competitive. Although they all exist in my head and I spit them out spontaneously to simulate how I talk, I was still surprised to see how competitive it was.

Symbol Key

* = not original to the show, but original to the characters
** = was recorded originally for a totally different purpose.

I started to give them their own list as well as have animated shows separate, but then I figured 'what's the point in saying something is great and not putting it up against the pros?' In other words, I love original songs and cartoon songs and thus would rather put them against each other. When I looked at other online lists and saw the rest all separate, it just made me want to go against the grain even more. It should be noted that this list is favorite and not best or greatest. It should also be noted that favorite intros (which factors in everything) is a separate list. This also doesn't include various songs or music that takes place in other parts of the show. Here we go then...

My Top 100 Favorite TV Intro Music Theme Songs

100. Doug - simple and sweet
99.Law & Order (Regular) - they would later make some lame adjustments for the spin offs
98. Dallas
97. Matlock/The Jetsons
96. Hunter
95. The Smurfs/George of the Jungle
95. Cops (Bad Boys) - I later came to see that this one is remembered most for the parts many don't understand, but a fun tune anyway. It saw use as the theme to the Bad Boys
movies as well.
94. Baywatch - obviously, this show is know for something else (which I ironically never cared for), but an underrated theme song as a result.
93. Step by Step - I thought it was about rehab at first, but it turned out to be a modern-day Brady bunch situation. The woman's vocal pretty much dominates the duo.
93. America's Funniest Home Videos (America, America, This is You)
92. Magnum P.I. - this probably should have been remade (with the same guy) instead of Blue Bloods and with this same song.
91. Roseane
90. The Nanny - a good throwback number
89. Baretta
88. The Wild Wild West
87. Bewitched - also one of the best cartoon intros for a regular show
86. Touched by an Angel
85. Star Trek: The Next Generation
84. Seasame Street
83. Bonanza - who doesn't want to ride a horse hearing that?
82. Petticoat Junction
81. Mr. Ed
80. Star Trek - the singing or opera voice gives it the edge over the other, but all versions put forth a good effort as far as I'm concerned.
79. Hellsing - usually anime shows have several theme songs per season. The good songs seem to be allowed to stay and its good they stuck with this one. Well, it was a short series anyway.
78. LA Law
77. Twin Peaks
76. MASH (Suicide is Painless) - I was surprised to see the title of the instrumental, but great tune for a great show.
75. Family Ties (Without Us)
74. Growing Pains (As Long as We Got Each Other)
73. Jem - over-the-top in its girliness, but a guilty pleasure just the same .
72. A Different World (Aretha Version)
71. Hill Street Blues/227
70. Pokemon - when I started, I was sure this sentimental favorite was in the top 10, but it got pushed back. Either way, awesome song
69. Route 66
68. One Day at a Time
67. I Don't Wanna Be** (One Tree Hill Theme) - most of the good recent ones seem to have been regular songs. This one came out two whole years before the show but is the only thing I liked
about the show (aside from Sophia Bushe's super smooth skin and Daniella Alonso briefly gracing it )
66. M.A.S.K.
65. Captain Planet - if 'Lets Get it On' resulted in many a baby being conceived, this song resulted in many environmentalists being conceived.
64. Transformers - its hard to believe that transformers was once awesome, but the evidence is immortalized here along with this song
63. SWAT
62. Sonic (He's the Fastest Thing Alive)
61. Happy Days
60. Crime Story/Married With Children
59. Miami Vice - looking at where TV has gone, its almost hard to believe this show was cancelled due to being too violent. Either way, I've always been a truck and station wagon type man, but
this song is one of the few things that makes the two seater look appealing to me.
58. Sanford and Son - this Quincy Jones jam sums up the show and characters perfectly
57. The Bold and the Beautiful - apparently this soap didn't make it like the others, but still had a heck of an intro
56. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - its interesting that after this, rap would become more popular while the rap theme song would peak in this time frame with this, In Living Color and Mario.
55. Duck Tales - this one is great from beginning to end and actually makes me want to dance
54. Danger Mouse - 'he's amazing  !'
53. The Andy Griffith Show - no one will ever doubt that whistling can make a great song...seeing as how it was proven so early on in television.
52. Tracey Takes On... (They Don't Know About Love)** - this one was brought on for season 2, but had been recorded by her over a decade before and even hers was a cover version back then.
Having said that, though Jamie Foxx has become the most successful singer/comedian, this is probably my favorite effort.
51. Soul Train - its no surprise that a show about dancing had a great theme song, but not necessarily a given
50. The Young and the Restless - one of the most memorable piano melodies of the past few decades and for good reason.
49. Batman the Animated Series - I actually find this batman to be better than both the Burton and Nolan batman combined. That's not to say that has anything to do with this music being awesome though.
48. Mighty Mouse - here I come to save the daaaayyyy!!!!
47. Batman (70s) - not only a memorable and catchy song, but one of my favorite intro videos as well.
46. The Flinstons -
45. Night Rider - like I said, I prefer trucks and horses, but this music makes sports cars somewhat appeal to me too.
44. Gilligan's Island - ah, something about a catchy song explaining the story
43. I Don't Wanna Wait** (Dawson's Creek Theme)
42. I Dream of Jeanie - I dream of having a lady genie too and the music and video fit it perfectly.
41. Welcome Back Cotter - I didn't even know this was for a show, but...cool...
40. The Adams Family - not only can whistling work, but apparently snapping too if done correctly.
39. Under Dog - aaahhhummmm
38. Moonlighting
37. Hawaii 5.0 - this one always makes me want to do dances I'm not old enough to know about. Good to see that like Dallas, the remake kept the same music.
36. David the Gnome
35. The Munsters (Season 1)/Duck Tales
34. X-Men (90s) - gets the blood pumping and one of the best intros. Good to know the show lived up to it.
33. Perry Mason (Park Avenue Beat) - a cool arrangement that fits the mood perfectly
32. Rawhide (Rollin', Rollin', Rollin')
31. Gummy Bears - a song as good as the candy
30. Laverne & Shirley (Making Our Dreams Come True) -
29. Night Court -
28. The Bugs Bunny Show (Bugs Bunny Overture)
27. Inspector Gadget - go Gadget go  !
26. Woke this Morning** (Sopranos Theme)
25. He Man: And the Masters of the Universe - I have the powa!!!!!!
24. How to Make it in America
23. The Lone Ranger
22. Heathcliff - No one can deny-ny-ny-ny  !
21. Thundercats - unlike Dallas and Hawaii 5.0, the remake abandoned the music and gave cheetara implants instead. That said, the original's music is awesome and the video is as well.
20. The Muppet Show - with all of their memorable songs, its no surprise that they deliver with intros.
19. Secret Agent (Secret Agent Man) -
18. Reading Rainbow - great song and oh so true .
17. The Twilight Zone
16. Doctor Who - choosing between this and the last was somewhat painful. The other one gets me instantly whereas this one has more depth and subtlety but both great.
15. The Golden Girls (Thank You for Being a Friend)
14. Facts of Life -
13. Cheers (Where Everybody Knows Your Name) - interesting to see that Grammar's been balding for 30 some odd years. Surely everyone knowing his name was consolation.
12. The X-Files -
11. Mission Impossible - hard to not at least think about investigating something when hearing this one.
10. Good Times* - 'eeeasy credit ripoff !'
9. The Pink Panther* - of course, released for the movie first, but at least written as a theme. It was later used for a long list of great cartoon shows too.
8. Peter Gunn - one of my personal theme songs
7. In the Heat of the Night - da blues
6. Amen - da gospel
5. The Munsters (Season 2) - hard to believe such a great and memorable show only had two seasons, but two great intros as well.
4. Greatest American Hero - (Believe it or Not, Its Just Me) - another one of my personal theme songs . Like a few other ones here, it could have worked as an instrumental, but the
addition of singing and lyrics take it up.
3. Alvin & the Chipmunks (We're the Chipmunks) - no surprise that I have rodents on the list, but I find the song to be awesome at face value.
2. The Jeffersons (Movin' On Up)  - 'took a whole lotta...trryin' I can't think of too many great shows that have produced great spin offs recently (remember Joey?), but this one was not only a success but had one of the most memorable themes ever. All in the Family probably occupies the top 10 on the separate intro independent of the music list.
1. The Real Ghost Busters* - though written for the movie, it is self-evidently the ghost buster's theme and thoroughly awesome through and through. Literally every aspect of this
song is great and that's why when it comes to my favorite show theme songs, it is The Most EXtreme.

^I'd forgotten about the 90s X-Men show, a stone cold classic if ever I heard one!

Joe, did you by any chance catch the recent Philadelphia/Detroit NFL game in the snow? I really enjoyed it. I know it probably sounds bizarre, but I was able to see what was going on a lot more against the icy white background.

I did indeed see and enjoy it as well and that is true about the background. I love all of the snow games . Its always amazing to me how adaptable the players are seeing as how most of them are native to hot climates. Even aside from the fact that the majority of the league are descendants of Africa, most are from the South, Texas, California and Florida in general and there's a sizeable Hawaiian population as well. . Not only are many teams located in colder states, but the late season and playoffs are during the coldest months as well. If all that isn't enough, we had one of the coldest Super Bowls ever in Texas where the summers are scorching and this Super Bowl will actually be in New York on top of that. In the world of regular football, some were complaining about the 0-0 game whereas I actually enjoyed it .

I had the process of personal bee keeping and honey making described to me by an enthusiast's husband (husband didn't want to do it, but the wife was interested).  They are part of an association and own 30,000 bees (including a queen) and quite a lot of effort goes into maintaining them.  This includes classes on learning the sociology of the bees and procedures for dealing with them to maximize output.

Large numbers of bees scare the crap out of me, and doing this comes across as as bit of a hobby-adventure at home.

Evening Joe!

Not sure if you've already heard this, but I thought I'd leave it here for the next time you swung by. Been keenly awaiting the album for a while now, I've a feeling it'll be as much to your liking as it is to mine.
