^ Could be interesting

Another song you need to do, you have the voice and talent to pull it off. ![]()

There is a part in the live version that you have to do if you choose to do Birth Ritual..... not going to tell you what it is though. ![]()

Great song!
But I have a couple of different Soundgarden songs in mind

I have no clones for this week, but I have something better: ORIGINAL MUSIC
This is from Fuego y Sangre and it was partly inspired by the movie Interstellar
Through The Stars
On the description you'll find the lyrics
I hope you'll like it!

I see you're not just a pretty face after all.
Seriously, great covers. I did a lip-sync cover of "Final Countdown" the other day. Hopefully it never sees the light of day.

Thank you!! Glad you liked them!
Next week I should upload the one I was preparing for today. Which is recorded already, but I went to a concert last Thursday (it was MAZING
) and it was so loud that my ears needed some days of rest so I couldn't finish the mix... Actually I don't think I'll be mixing today either

^ Back To The Future is so great!

Do you have a favorite song on Heaven and Hell? I've been told that its not a Sabbath album because Ozzy is not on it. Asking around and then looking online, it seems that there is a divide. My first point was of course that everyone else is on it.
Second point, it says Black Sabbath.
Third point, some would argue that even with just Iommi and Butler or possibly just Iommi, it could possibly pass with the rights to the name. None of that worked, so the last point was...

I do!
First to come to mind is Die Young.
Neon Knights is among my favorites as well.

It is a Black Sabbath album and there can be no divided opinion about it. As you say, it says Black Sabbath right there
There's actually a couple of albums where there's only Iommi from the original line up and they're still Black Sabbath. That some people don't like that Ozzy was not there doesn't mean a thing
The only album where there can be some discussion is Seventh Star, that was originally intended as an Iommi solo effort, but ended labeled as Black Sabbath because of some stuff with the record company.

Even the Gillam Sabbath is still Sabbath to me.
Actually, the Tony Martin Sabbath is a tad underrated in my book.
I guess in light of the fact that Ozzy has his own festival, it shouldn't be surprising that he has a crazy fan or two.
I have on the other hand seen fist fights regarding whether Sabbath was metal or not.
One said "pre-metal" whereas the other said that was an insult (a few drinks in both) and things escalated from there. The better debate for me though is where this album cover ranks.

Speaking of bands, I wonder if my "Abbey Brothers Band" puns are lost in translation?

Of course it's Sabbath! Though Born Again must be the only album of theirs that I haven't heard in it's entirety (that one and Seventh Star).
I like Tony Martin's Sabbath too! And he did a great job on the vocals (even if sounding a bit too much like Dio in my opinion)

Personally I don't consider Ozzy's Sabbath as Metal, but as Hard Rock. Even if extremely heavy for it's time. They laid the foundations of the genre of course, but don't label that period of the band as part of it. Once Dio joined it's a different story: Heaven and Hell is 100% Heavy Metal. So is The Mob Rules and subsequent releases.
Heavy Metal as we know it, I consider it to be born with this album which is coincidentally having it's birthday today ![]()

Yes, they are a bit

Surely no one can argue "Sad Wings of Destiny." What an amazing record and group!
I guess what leaves room for debate is that all Metal is Hard Rock, but not all Hard Rock is Metal.
I can understand both sides about the 70s reign. To me, some of the songs sound metal and others like hard blues rock. No one seems to question the quality of the first six records at face value though, regardless of what they may be labeled. I tried to offer that point to no avail.
Did you know that Lemy said that he didn't understand Motorhead being called metal? That he considered them to be a punk band? I've also seen The Rolling Stones on Hard Rock lists when they themselves say that they are Rhythm and Blues.
In the world of video comments, there is the trend of debating whether isolated songs are metal or not. Two of the most popular are whether "Helter Skelter" by The Beatles and "House of Pain" by Van Halen are metal or not. Both sides seem to feel strongly.
Oh, the "Abbey Brothers Band" pun is a spin on "Allman Brothers Band." I can't really give the joke in regularl life because no one knows models like that. ![]()

It is! Judas Priest is one of my favorite bands and Sad Wings is one of my favorite albums by them.

I completely agree on this

I think the Blues element is what makes the biggest difference concerning something being Hard Rock or Heavy Metal. Heavy Metal won't have that Blues element, or at least it'll be very hidden.

Ye, I know he didn't like it when people referred to Motörhead as a Metal act. He actually always insisted that they played Rock n' Roll, as he always said when presenting the band live: "We're Motörhead, and we play Rock n' Roll"
I've seen too (rarely, but I've seen it) The Rolling Stones being labeled as Hard Rock
... which they definitely aren't

I wouldn't call either of those Metal actually. But even then I'd say Helter Skelter is closer because of the time context: it's a remarkably heavy song for 1968, whereas House of Pain is from 1984 and by then you had Metallica on the map already.

I figured it may had someting to do with the Allman Brothers ![]()

On a Judas Priest cover I did last year there's a note held for a similar time but much higher in pitch (actually a cover of the first song on the album 5 posts above... Victim of Changes )

And that must be the glasses

That's the funny thing because people in everyday life know the Allman Brothers, but don't know Abbey Brothers.
Speaking of such, they are probably one of the hardest rocking non-hard rock bands. Either way, this is one of my favorite live recordings. Lets just say, they definitely weren't in a hurry.
