! Steph. How does that work? Kind of unusual to me. I only use the phone/tablet for the commuter rail or other places on the go. I mainly use it to read news or check up on communications and so forth- nothing involving typing anything substantial or posting on BZ. I don't even browse BZ on the phone or the tablet for the most part.
^ that's how I used to be too, I was more comfortable using a laptop... But now I pretty much only browse/post on the Internet using my mobile/iPod. I prefer it. The only time I use my laptop is when I'm making a set for myself or someone else.

^ I guess I just got used to it
To me it's not tricky at all to type and post on a mobile device.
I even post pics using my mobile. Most sites are set up these days to be compatible with mobile devices. But again, if it's not something you are used to then yeah might be tricky at first ![]()

^ especially seeing other NBA players like Michael Jordan and Larry Bird getting involved in such positions
Oh remember the Yulin Dog meat festival. Seems to be a big movement going on because like I said I saw a model post about it (April love Geary is the models name/ she is the girlfriend of Robin Thicke) then yesterday I was on Facebook and my friend posted the same thing about this Yulin Festival and trying to stop it. So it's a big thing going on, however I have yet to google for myself I'm kinda squirmy and I'm not looking forward to what I may see or read.
It has become kind of usual actually.
My main issue with these kind of movements is that they are often started upon little or partial information and in this case a strong cultural bias too. But as I told you before I need more information on the subject and well, I haven't really looked for it.
But anyway, no one is going to stop a cultural tradition, as terrible as it could seem to be, by means of twitter ![]()
Oh mannnnn, I'm so happy to be home. I thought yesterday's work day was bad today was ten times worse. It's Fathers Day today and the store was packed with people, I can't even count how many times I had to write "Happy Fathers Day" on cakes
we probably sold over one hundred cakes for the whole day!
Yup had to let that out
So todays was definitely a crazy day I see! That's a lot of cakes ![]()

I know, but being so used to the mobile and giving up the desktop/laptop when it's around...? For me the screen is far too tiny for picture oriented site like BZ. I guess most of the posters on BZ are like you. It may be that the use of mobiles as a whole of the BZ experience (for the whole site) is much more than I thought. I've always thought that you were on a computer!
I've never gotten fully into the mobile shift- My tablet usually sits around unused (I've been wasting money for two years basically). I use the phone to browse WSJ. But otherwise, my media choice is based on what I need to do, and not on the devices at hand. If I need to read documents or a book, I bring a lightwedge with me.

Yeah but a lot of the time Im not even at home and don't even have the option of a desktop/laptop, and so with all that time I got used to it... that even when I have a laptop I rather not use it. Main reason is that if I am at home I like to lie down on my bed, in any position and comfortably read the Internet. I personally don't like sitting up straight or having this big lap top on my lap. So all personal preference.I know, but being so used to the mobile and giving up the desktop/laptop when it's around...? For me the screen is far too tiny for picture oriented site like BZ. And yeah overall I think most people spend more time on their phones browsing than on a laptop or desktop these days. Maybe more so teens and twenty something's? With smartphones there are all sorts of apps and such and a big one is instagram... Instagram is very hard to use on a desktop (posting pics and the like) Instagram was made for mobile use primarily. Even my mom and aunt spend more time browsing and checking up on their Facebook feeds on their mobile devices than using a desktop. My dad is more of a desktop computer type guy, but he got a new phone recently and he's getting more in to it. Though I think he'd still take the desktop over the mobile if the desktop is available. ![]()

Yeah crazy day with crazy customers^ especially seeing other NBA players like Michael Jordan and Larry Bird getting involved in such positions

Then after work I had to run around getting something for my dad for Fathers Day. Yes, im the last minute type. Even Christmas time I usually buy my gifts no earlier than a few days before Christmas.
That's how I was with school too Id have all this time to finish a project but I just cram everything in at the last moment
Though I wasn't that bad in college, high school was worse. ![]()

^ What's with those eyes

Yeah crazy day with crazy customersHow was your day?

My day was mostly relaxed. I played bass, practicing the songs for my 3rd album and then guitar, looking to improve my technique and practicing some difficult solos (difficult for me at least). I wanted to go out in bicycle, but the air is so terribly polluted I ended up not going. There's 'environmental emergency' today. It hasn't rained in months and that doesn't help.
I'm the same
I always end up doing those kind of things at the last minute. Last year I got the last christmas gifts on the 24th's morning
.
On school I was the same, and same in college. For example we had to do arrangements every 2 weeks, and usually I was choosing the song the day before it was due, and writing the whole thing during the night. Most of those times I only slept 3 hours or so, a couple of times even less ![]()
And one time I wrote, recorded, transcribed and mixed a song in one night... of course it was due the next morning ![]()

^ oh any approximate completion date for your next album?
what does this "environmental emergency" mean? Ah that pollution doesn't sound pleasant at all. ![]()
Haha, by the sounds of it you probably beat me in terms of procrastination lol.
That's pulling some serious all-nighters! ![]()
Man, such a huge difference working on a Monday, as opposed to the craziness of this weekend. But of course I still don't want to be here
Actually, sometimes time seems to go by slower when it's less busy, you're rushing less but the downside is you pay more attention to the time. ![]()

Not really, but it will be recorded during this year. So I hope it will be out by the end of the year.
Depending on how bad the air is there's this measures and alert system, and the "scale" goes: Alert, Pre-emergency, and Emergency when the air is the worst. It comes with various measures too, such as heavy polluting industries to stop working, the use of lumber is banned, and cars with their plates ended in certain numbers can't circulate.
The busses though are some of the most polluting in traffic, and those are still working, and the lumber banishment is not always effective, so the whole system doesn't work that well as expected. The main problem is this city is surrounded by mountains, so the ventilation conditions are awful, and we desperately need rain to clean the air.
Lol probably I am
I had a couple of no sleeping nights too ![]()
Hahaha is it going too slow?
How much till you're out of work? ![]()

^ Ah so the end of the year, so it'll be out in no time. (The year seems to be going by extra fast is why.
)

Ah very interesting!!!! How often does it get to the extreme level?
Oh I know all about sleepless nights. A lot of the time when I start work at 6:30 am I get either no sleep or very little. ![]()
Yeah there's not much to do, but actually the day is going fast for me for some reason. Right now I have 3 hours left. ![]()

Seems to be going really fast indeed! I have all the songs written, and actually all the demos are recorded already. I just have to record them again, and make them better
. It's going to be 10 songs.
The air is always kind of bad here... In summer though it gets better. But by april things start getting ugly, and in now in winter is when the conditions are the worse. To be honest, the measures taken are not at all that effective.
We have at leas a couple of pre-emergencies every year. But today's was the first emergency since 1999. That's how bad things are.
And now I just saw this picture:
![]()
I can't believe we're breathing that. I'm lucky though, since I live in a part of the city with a higher altitude, so the air is better here. But it's still bad. It actually affected a bit my singing today...
Is it to often you pull those sleepless nights? ![]()
I hope those 3 hours weren't that slow ![]()

^ songs going to be really long? I know you had some songs that were VERY long
But yes, sounds like your advancing very well (Y)
Damn!!! That's quite the pic.
Maybe like twice a month I go to work with no sleep, luckily I don't work 6:30 Am too many times a week ![]()
And yes, it was an easy shift. ![]()

No, only one long song
The others are "normal" songs ![]()
I've been practicing the bass a lot lately.
Horrible isn't it? ![]()
And it's not only here. Several cities in the south are in pre-emergency too.
Ah, it's not that much then ![]()

^ Ah, I see. ![]()
Well hopefully the pollution In the air clears up a bit, because doesn't look healthy. ![]()
So on TV they are showing past NBA drafts, 1995, 1996, 1997 and the 1998 draft. Since I was a HUGE basketball fan in the early 2000's... I recognize pretty much every player in these drafts. Just neat to hear the commentators commenting on how they predict the player will turn out.
They were questioning Tracey McGrady when he was picked, and look how great he was in his heyday.
However, watching these drafts you realize how hard it is to have a long term NBA career, most of the players in these drafts are currently retired. The only ones still in the league are Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, Tim Duncan, Paul Pierce... and they still aren't the players they used to be. Age catches up with athletes, for obvious reasons.
Really looking forward to the 2015 draft this Thursday! Just not happy I'm working 12:30-9pm... the draft starts at 7pm so I'll be missing a decent chunk of it, maybe even all of it. Fingers crossed they repeat the draft on NBA TV later in the night.

So I'm watching the 1999 draft, # 1 pick was Elton Brand. However, reason I'm bringing it up is because it's neat that Elton is still in the league now, but he gets no playing time for the most part. I can't remember what team he is currently on, but I remember in this years playoffs he made a VERY brief appearance. ![]()
Edit: he's currently on the Atlanta Hawks
Then Steve Francis was picked #2 in the 1999 draft. And it was a big thing because Steve really didn't want to go to Vancouver to play for the Grizzlies, he made a big fuss and the Grizzlies had to trade him.
I think he should have just been happy he made it to the NBA!
I believe you said you started watching the NBA around 2008.... so I'm not sure if you are familiar with these players.

^ Ah, I see.

Is that on NBA TV? How interesting it has to be to hear their predictions on those players at that time. To see which ones were correct and which ones not
. I think Nowitzki was also drafted around that time?

I recognize the name, but I don't really know who he is, and I'm not sure if I've seen him play ![]()
Steve Francis doesn't ring a bell
. He really did that?? Wtf, he made it to the NBA and he's still complaining about the team that picked him ![]()

Storm, yes I saw Nowitzki today in one of the drafts. I believe it was the 1998 one. He's another one that lasted a long time, and of course he's still in the league. He even made this years All star team, so good for him!
It's also neat when players get drafted and they stay on that team for most of their careers, Nowitzki got drafted by I think the Bucks but soon after he went to the Mavericks. Kobe Bryant got drafted by Charlotte but soon after he went to LA. Now Tim Duncan is one player who has lasted his whole career on one time, and how neat that Gregg Popovich (the Spurs coach) coached the team for all these years too. It's a rarity in the league
