Who is this Lebron you speak of?

Haha, I guess you are anti-Lebron? . What did you think about him self proclaiming himself "the best player in the world"

I think he's been sniffing too much of that baby powder from past times!

Carlos, an undrafted player doesn't even have to wait until next year. If they work thier asses off, they can still manage to land a team by next season. All 30 teams can potentially contact them to join their summer league, then the player can pick and choose what workouts he wants to go to team wise. Depends on how many offers he gets. However it's not an easy process and there's several steps, the team has several individuals in their summer league and so said player has to work his butt off and impress in order to get a training camp spot... Then they have to impress there in order to make it into the final roster... then they have to impress enough to get their non guaranteed contract guaranteed by January then to get signed for the remainder of the year. Not easy lol

However with first rounders, they automatically get signed to a multi million dollar contract lasting for a couple years, second rounders don't have that luxury but they are still in a position where they can potentially negotiate with the higher team office and get a guaranteed contract... which of course won't be as high as a first round contract but it's a start.

Matthew Dellevadova is one recent example of an undrafted player who made it into the league. He may get shit for his "dirty play" however many seem to think that it's this scrappiness that has allowed him to even make it into the league. That's his thing. By the way I don't think he means to hurt people, (I personally don't see him as dirty) he just plays a bit wild and that's what happens sometimes.

by name. He played all his NBA career with the Bucks? Interesting that so many players are making career in China!

I saw an article not long ago about the top draft years and 1996 was actually placed 1st, even above Jordan's 1984.

Actually on that same draft night, Marbury and Ray Allen were traded for eachother. When players are traded on draft night they both go up on stage and switch hats. When the players are drafted they are given a hat with the team logo on it.

Stephon is best known for playing on the Knicks, that's what I know him best.

Here's an article about him, not surprising because as we saw from draft night... He's a very emotional guy. Must be hard. I know Allen Iverson didn't take it too well either when his NBA career declined.

http://nypost.com/2015/01/18/in-last-nba-days-stephon-marbury-wanted-to-kill-myself/

The 2003 draft was probably high on that list too, Lebron, Carmelo, Wade, Bosh. That's epic. What's funny is that during this draft Darko Miličić was placed #2 and he did absolutely nothing in the NBA, epic fail of a pick.

Just goes to show you never know what you're getting lol

Thank you again!

I've also seen some drafted players never play for the league. That must open some doors to some undrafted ones too, however hard their road up is.

Ah yes, he's one big example of that! But yes, he does have kind of a dirty play

I think it's kind of usual that players are traded that same night, right?

I definitely don't remember him then . And thanks for the article! Wow, he did have some really hard times back then.

Yes, I think the 2003 draft was placed 3rd or 4th. That's another great generation. What team drafted Milicic? And did he played at all? I don't remember him either, though the name rings a bell at least

And Chile won today against Uruguay!! We're on semifinals!

^ Darko was drafted by the Detriot Pistons,

That team went on to win the 2004 Championship his rookie year.... but he played no role in it. Another notorious bust is Kwame Brown... He was picked #1 in the 2001 draft, but he didn't amount to much. However, Darko is still picked by most as the most disappointing pick... Probably because he was in the 2003 draft and he's the guy that was picked after Lebron, but before Carmelo... Bosh and Wade.

Oh wow semi finals! That's awesome! When's the next game Scheduled?

Kwame Brown doesn't ring a bell either haha. But from recent drafts, I can't recall hearing or seeing anything about 2013's #1 pick. I saw his name recently (could be Bennett?) but seems like another disappointing pick.

I think it will be next monday, but I'm not sure. It'll be against either Perú or Bolivia.

Ah yes Anthony Bennett, he's a Canadian. It was a big thing because he got the #1 pick in 2013 then the year after another Canadian got the number 1 pick... Andrew Wiggins. And yeah Bennett, hasn't made much of a splash yet... but I'll give him one more year to do something before I call him a bust, but it's not looking so good.

Here's hoping Chile kicks some Peruvian or Bolivian butt come next Monday

Remember Greg Oden? He's another disappointment.

738eb5417835289.jpg

A lot of people think Greg and Lebron look alike. There was a joke going around calling Greg, Lebron's dad. It's funny because Greg is younger than Lebron, but Greg looks older... hence why they call him Lebron's dad haha.

Lol Lebron's dad  They do look somewhat alike though.

I know he was drafted by the Cavs, but where does he play now? Let's see what happens next season

Hahaha thanks! The last game of the group stage was against Bolivia and Chile won 5-0

^ as of right now Anthony plays with his fellow Canadian, Andrew Wiggins, on the Timberwolves. But there's trade rumours swirling. Speaking of the Timberwolves, they have the # 1 pick this year. My best bet is that they will pick Karl Anthony Towns becauss tats whose predicted to go number 1 it's either him or Jahlil Okafor. Damn... these Timberwolves getting all the top, young talent. But we'll see how they play out. These players are still young and on the rise... so we'll see how they develop and if they'll make the Timberwolves a legit contender in this league.

So I'm watching the 2005 draft now, Andrew Bogut number 1.... wow ten years in the league. However I stopped watching basketball for like the last 7 years. Stephen Curry was drafted in 2009 but for me it's like he's in his sophomore year lol. Chris Paul, was picked #4 in the 2005 draft... looking at his interview from back then and wow he didn't age much in the last ten years.

So in the earlier drafts I watched, Craig Sager was interviewing the players. You know that reporter Craig Sager?? He's a famous face in the NBA world because he's been a long time reporter for the league for decades. However, now he's suffering from Leukemia so he's been away from the league as of late. now in this 2005 draft im watching Stuart Scott is interviewing the players in the draft.... and he was another famous face in the NBA but he passed away recently of cancer :/

So I'm guessing you want Chile to face Bolivia

Ah, so I guess they were both traded for Kevin Love then?

Yes, he's been around a while. So is Chris Paul; it seems like he hasn't been there for that long. What pick number was Curry?

Oh yes, I know about Craig Sager an his leukemia... But I remember seeing him a couple of times last year, but I think not reporting but just being there at the game. Much thinner too. It was always funny to see how would he be dressed

And I think I heard about Stuart Scott recently, but I'm not sure.

Given the latest result, it would be great . But we have winning record against both anyway.

Yeah Kevin Love was apart of that trade.

Don't know what number Curry was picked... they were talking about it on TV a few weeks ago... so I know he got drafted in 2009 and I just know he wasn't drafted in the top 5 because that would have stuck with me.

Actually Craig Sager came back to TNT to report an NBA game soon after the All star game, he was cleared of his Leukemia.... but soon after it came back and he had to start chemo again. And yes, he made an appearance in the stands for a playoff game. I just hope he fully recovers. And yeah, physically he looks so different.. He looks sickly probably because like you said he lost a lot of weight, for obvious reasons.

So if Chile wins in the semi finals, who do you predict they'll face in the finals?

Ah yes, I must have seen that game because I remember seeing him there. I'm not sure if I saw it at the playoffs though. So sad the leukemia came back  I hope he will recover too.

I think the final will be either against Brazil or Argentina. I think Argentina has more possibilities though, Brazil just isn't what it used to be. Maybe Brazil won't even make it to semis

Thanks! Not bad at all then

^ Yes, he's argentinian. And yes, the big players always play for their countries in tournaments like this

I just found another good 2nd rounder example: Manu Ginobili was drafted 27th in the second round and look all he has done.

^ Ah so that makes winning this tournament, even more prestigious.

And yes, Manu is another great example.

grrr still not over the fact that I'm going to be missing the draft tonight. When I come home tonight I think I'll just avoid watching NBA TV when they have their post draft review and then tommorrow at 3pm I will watch the re-run . But my curiousity might get the best of me.
