^ Oh, Nash looks so different!! And that hair

Like a 90's football player ![]()
Storm, yes I saw Nowitzki today in one of the drafts. I believe it was the 1998 one. He's another one that lasted a long time, and of course he's still in the league. He even made this years All star team, so good for him!
It's also neat when players get drafted and they stay on that team for most of their careers, Nowitzki got drafted by I think the Bucks but soon after he went to the Mavericks. Kobe Bryant got drafted by Charlotte but soon after he went to LA. Now Tim Duncan is one player who has lasted his whole career on one time, and how neat that Gregg Popovich (the Spurs coach) coached the team for all these years too. It's a rarity in the league

Bad Apple Some people think Sara bares a resemblance to Adriana Lima. What do you think?
Yes she does but I have to admit that Adriana is hotter. Still you can be hot as hell and not be as hot as Adriana! That's where Sara falls in. Do you think Sara would like to ride on my shoulders the way she is in those pics I posted? ![]()

Carlos, Ah speaking of that, Dwyane Wade is another example. He's been with the Miami Heat the whole time. However, there's a big question mark on whether he'll return to Miami next year... speaking of which Wade is on the decline he doesn't make a big impact anymore, so Its the Heat who has to decide if they want to stay loyal to Wade and pay him the big Bucks out of loyalty (there's a certain word they used in regards to this situation but can't remember) or get rid of him.

I've never been a Sara fan.
When it comes to Adriana, she was gorgeous in the early to mid 2000's. She's still a stunner now, but not as much in my eyes. In regards to resemblance, I don't see a big resemblance, people just like to say that because they have the light eyes, olive complection/ tanned skin and dark hair ![]()
In regards to Sara riding your shoulders, I have no idea lol

A lot has been speculated about Wade lately. The last I saw was about some Lakers' interest. But I still don't like the Heat so I don't care that much ![]()

^ yeah I heard the Lakers rumour too. Haha it's so funny how the year before the Heat were in the finals, then Lebron leaves and they don't even make the playoffs next year... Yet Lebron sends his new team to the finals. Wow. ![]()

Who is this Lebron you speak of?

Yes, his influence is amazing. But we also shouldto considerate that the Heat played almost all season long without Bosh.
Saw any more past drafts today?

In the 2001 draft, The Spurs selected Tony Parker at number 28! Whoa, wouldn't have thought he was drafted so low :pe of the last p
A lot of players who aren't predicted to go high up in the draft, don't even attend draft night. However, some players do and I feel bad for them when they have to sit there in the green room, being one of the last players sitting in the room waiting to be called. That's why when your not a sure thing to go high in the draft, it's kinda better not to show up, so that the cameras are not all in your face with people feeling sorry for you. ![]()
Even though Tony was selected at 28, he still showed up for draft night. Saw him walk up the stage.
when you get that low up, most aren't in attendance.

Haha, I guess you are anti-Lebron?
. What did you think about him self proclaiming himself "the best player in the world" ![]()

Now I'm smitten with Jennifer Hawkins!!! I mean look at those heavenly legs!!! LEGS LEGS LEGS!!!
Never heard of Jennifer Hawkins.
My guess is that she's an actress???

^ (She was miss universe if I'm not mistaken)

Ah yes, I knew he was drafted rather low. Great example of how the draft position doesn't necessarily has to do with the player's potential.
I had no idea that happened though! I understand it can get probably awkward for them be there waiting for that long to be called, but in my opinion at least is seeing it with the wrong perspective and I'm sure the media has lots to do with it. I mean, who cares if they got picked at number 20, or even 30. They made it into the NBA! Which is a huge accomplishment to start with. Being drafted lower on a lower position can't be a shame if you made to that league.
At least I see it that way.

^ Oh thanks for the Miss Universe info. ![]()
True, but then it's still not even guaranteed that they'd get drafted in the first round... Or get drafted period. ![]()

Ah yes, you have a good point there ![]()
The second round has the same process as the first? Or it's not televised and with no audience?

^ The second round is still televised, but its not made into a big of a deal. Actually the re runs I was watching on NBA TV they didn't even show the second rounds. But yes, once it gets to the second round, they change who announces the picks... for the first round it's the NBA commissioner then for the second round they switch to the assistant. There's just less excitement from the crowd and commentators in general at this point and pretty much none of the players that get called are even in attendance because at this point it's a less sure thing that your name will even get called period, there are more eligible players than there are spots available to be drafted. It is embarrassing when you decide to leave college to enter the NBA and then you don't even get picked. Plus, these players then can't even go back to College basketball once they make themselves elligible for the draft. Then even if you get picked in the second round it's an honour for those not expecting it, though many players expect to be picked first round so it will be less of an honour for them, at this point people are less interested in who you are, so I wouldn't want to go up on stage to hold up the show and take a pic with the NBA assistant. Second round is considered a "crapshoot" It's a fickle situation. Anyways, I know in the past at this point in the draft, I just get bored lol
Of course, they want to get drafted high up because then you automatically get paid the HUGE bucks, lower you are the less you get paid. Though just means you just have to wait longer to proof yourself then maybe in a year or two if you proof yourself you'll get paid. Though there have been some sucessfully players drafted in the second round, however it's not very common that second rounders end up making a huge impact on the league. Also, first rounders have their contracts guaranteed, whereas second rounders do not. Also, teams tend to be more patient with their first rounders development, second rounders have less room for error.

Draymond Green is a recent example of a successful second round pick. He was drafted 35th overall in the 2012 draft and he made his splash in the NBA and now he will finally be getting paid the big bucks this season because for sure Golden State will resign him and with his performance they have no choice but to pay him the big money. ![]()

Stephon Marbury got so emotional on draft night. He was crying a bit during his interview, not often you see a player get this emotional.
You may not be familiar with him because he was a huge star in the early 2000's. He was nicknamed "Starbury" and he had his own Starbury clothing brand. My father, brother and I bought some of his merchandise back in the day.
he faded from the NBA, however now he is currently a superstar in China. He won the last 3 championships or something like that, and he's a huge deal over there right now.
This was the 1996 draft, which was considered one of the top draft years ever. Allen Iverson was picked #1 and he went on to become an NBA superstar, won MVP of the league and was getting shoe deals left and right. He was my brothers fav player back in the day. Kobe Bryant was also apart of this first round draft. As was Ray Allen.
Sorry for all this NBA talk, even after the season is done, I'm an addict ![]()

Thanks! Well yes, I guess most people don't care about the second round, and actually probably don't care after the 10th first round pick or so
.
Does it happen that an undrafted player tries again the next year?
Still it's not THAT common to see many second rounders to make an impact on the league, but it's quite usual to see rather low first round picks that end up being huge. I didn't know about second rounders not having their contracts guaranteed. I guess those are the ones sent to the D-League when they don't perform as expected?

No, I'm not familiar with him. Not even by name. He played all his NBA career with the Bucks? Interesting that so many players are making career in China!
I saw an article not long ago about the top draft years and 1996 was actually placed 1st, even above Jordan's 1984.
Lol it's okay
