The thing with politicians, macroeconomics, and politics is that in 2016  I believe that they have been superseded by the speed of the globalized markets since the 1990s and just the exponential complexity.  Frankly it seems that to protect a nation's people/their families and keep jobs and wages up &  labor localized (rather than being shifted all over the country or all over the world) - some sort of protection/regulation needs to be done.  Eg. in the US, Healthcare and the higher education racket would need to be regulated even more than the financial sector.  However, the friction/red tape of regulation can easily make things far worse and invite all sorts of corruption.  Basically there needs to be some sort of exceptionally high quality state apparatus-which is likely impossible to achieve.  There are no silver bullets.

It looks like only northern europe has been successful with strong state regulation but they are such tiny, homogeneous populations.

A factor in the US is the personal debt issue.  Americans are too easily goaded into borrowing money to buy things they don't need.  It's necessary to promote consumer spending but there it be better to have  channels towards growth that don't involve so much financial risk being born by ordinary people. This is another conundrum.

Finally, there is a certain saturation in western civilization.  In previous capitalistic epochs- advances in technology/infrastructure revolutionized life and raised economies to the next level (eg. ships, trains, the car, the plane, highways, railroads, petro, etc.)  We've been riding on information technology for far too long.

I think i will watch it tonight in wating the SI cover

From the regular casting i wait for Rose the most. But i don't mind Erina or Hannah Davis

My fave rookie is Barbara, and i will give all my support to Nicole for the models search !

It will be hard for both i think...I hope the votes ain't rigged though !

IMO, the MDS class is stronger than the Rookie one ...

I'm hoping that zoolander 2 appears on the internet.  I'm pretty curious regardless.  There are a lot of celebrity cameos in it.

Hanna looks different recently.  Her face thinned out a bit.

The fat acceptance debates on the SI 2016 thread are hilarious

At time yes  The subject seem to crystallize much more than the simple case of Ashley at time also ...

+1, exactly.  It is an example how the media transmits tropes and trains feelings of umbrage.  10 years ago, the nature of the messages made by some of the posters would be very different as fat acceptance was not so mainstream.  So in that thread, some innocent comments are made and then these pre-constructed talking posts/personal attacks appear from a few trigger words/concepts.

"Pre-constructed talking" It's totally that ! I totaly agree with you. The fact they are denying PC is the proof it's existing

Yep!  Fat acceptance 'big is beautiful' is a boon towards clothing retailers.  I'm still trying to fully understand how this effects social relations in the female pecking order.  Of course, all attempts to dictate what men like (you're shallow, misogynist,  etc, etc.) will fail, as the sexual market will take care of that.  Although, LOL I can see some impressionable men (hero complex) pretending to become chubby chasers for the sake of increasing their ego.

God, I want to post this in that thread, but some of the girls would hate me forever...

Yeah, i agree ...It's like a trend desguised in social progress to seem more legit

And you should've posted this video, that's pretty funny in the context !

That's an apt description. Non-biased business historians/sociologist/journalists should write political books about this in the future.  I'd wouldn't be surprised if they've already had or are working on it now.

SI 2016, My Review ...

Overal, the shoot are bad, the videos are GREAT (a strong point for SI) the locations are good, and the James Macari did a good job (!!!). Ben Watts too. Yu=Yu and Ruven Afanador = nope  Some swimsuits are cool, especially the classical ones, the others are LOL ...

Hailey: Not bad, i have nothing to say particulary...

Ronda: Pretty cool !

Ashley: "What are you doing here ?!"

Irina: I know you...nope...

Chrissy: She looks like Gary Coleman...

Nina: Body on point ...

Chanel: I prefer Lacoste

Gigi: Ellen Pompeo ?

Hannah Ferguson: Perfect ! Everything i expect from SI ! She slays the issue ! I wanted her as the cover girl, i confirm ! I hope she will be the one next time. Just wonderful !!!

Lily: She never convinced me with SI ...

Erin: Some shots are cool, the rest i prefer to forget it

Lindsey: Some of her shoot are my faves for this year !

Bo: A real scam IMO...She seems sexy, but she just looks stupid in the end ...

Barbara: Not a fan ...But after SI, i am now a FAN. Her face is to die for, she's so charming...She really know how to seduce the camera...She's FUN. And her body is ...hmmm ...i love it !! I hope she will be there next time again, and for long time then. She could've done the cover too. I give you my vote.

Kelly: NON !

Samantha: What can i say, she got me. I like her, she's hot, her best shoot with SI ! I hope one day she will leave her "cheap whore style" for something classier, she deserves it !

Tanya: I miss Genevieve SO MUCH

Rose: NAUGHTY, i love her !

Emily Didonato: Her best shoot so far with SI !

Caroline: Ok

Robyn: Running gag

Sofia: I hope to see you next time again ! Charming ...

Kate: Classical SI, i love it, one of my favorite shoot for this issue !!

Sammy hoopes' shoot was probably the best one she ever made.

The second expansion to Witcher 3 is apparently based on the film, "Brotherhood of the Wolf".  Have you seen it?  I watched it in the early 2000s.

Oh, for SI.  I had wondered as "Brotherhood of the Wolf" was one of those French movies that was often played on American TV at the time.

This movie was lame IMO...Of course when it came out we talked a lot about it... But i think it was totally ridiculous to see an Indian doing Martial Art in Lozère in the middle of the 18th century ...to say the least ...

As you know the Beast of Gévaudan is a french legend, or fact for some ...And i know very well this history, since i'm gone very often as a kid in Lozère for the summer vacations ... But i think the movie is bad ...I always saw something more like Sleepy Hollow (the one by Burton) to stuck more to ambiance of the place and the real fact ...

The movie was way too pompous.

wow, thanks for bring up the "best of g".  I never knew of it.  All I remember from "Brotherhood of the wolf" was that it was dark and dingy, and had stylized action.  According to your link the actual culprit was never really discovered 100%.  I googled images of the region and it showed deep vallies coated in trees.

I really have to re-watch Sleepy Hollow.  It was a great movie.

Yes, the story keep all its mystery, that's why it stay very interesting ! This area is really mystic, it give a stronger perspective to the whole legend. To say the least, the place is EMPTY of humans. It's pretty wild. And simply very beautiful. The forests are deep there. you can easily get lost if you don't know it.

I know well this place https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_of_the_Snows_(Trappist_monastery), and i can tell you it's totally lost  The atmosphere is very special.

But the most terrifying place i ever visited is this one : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auberge_rouge ...
