Despite i don't like Cersei, her adventure in the last few seasons is really difficult. And overal, the show is very violent. But i guess 1/ we can't treat about that kind of story in avoiding violence. And 2/ I guess that why the public love it. It make it more genuine. Not like a fairy tale

I think part of what makes the series successful is that it has "something for everyone".  It reminds me of the witcher.  For instance, I don't like the Jon Snow/Dragon girl arcs but I like everything else.   I'm sure there are people who like the opposite.

The series also subverts expectations and tropes; the typical heroes get killed like villains and the villains are winning most of the time.

Ceisei is literally pure evil lol  I think Littlefinger is going to get an expanded role in S7 and then be killed off.  The series will probably end on a more positive note, given convention.

I like her..

Sadly her arc seems to just serve to advance the plot (by linking Snow with the wildlings) and fulfill the 'loved and lost' function for Jon Snow.  And expanding his knowledge of outsiders and his tolerance, which would make him a predictable/lead hero.

My guess is that the Hound will become a hero in the coming war and eventually will have to fight his brother before he gets his "peace".

Martin seems to intentionally dress like a fantasy novel Dwarf.

Well, i'm one of those i think. That's why i'm glad Sansa arc joinded the one of Jon Snow. Knowing the end of the last season, I guess the war between Jon Snow army and Sersei one will start in the next season.

I like the fact GoT is like a "hybrid" between historical novel, and fantasy one. It's spécial. We really feel the two inspirations of the autor.

I read the Wikia for GOT while I watch/listen and I am deeply impressed with the structure of the series.  The characterization is quite detailed and interesting, and it subverts expectations and avoids too many cliches.  In a way the worldbuilding is such that it is an expression of the author's collective knowledge over decades of study and writing.  At the same time, it is filmable and isn't so intellectual or esoteric that a newbie can't understand.

Credit also goes to the people who adapted his work into screenplays- they did a great job.

Further, the collective knowledge is not just genre-specific but rather timeless and boundary-less wisdom that is only exhaustively and often painfully acquired.  In a way, it's an example of how someone can make successful writing and then commercialize it to a 5-10 M budget per episode series.

Like the construction of this scene from Theon's coup de main of Winterfeld to his new identity as "Reek" .  The entire sequence of events and characterization completely subverts cliche' and makes a mockery of the traditional tropes.  Martin appears to favor "grey" characters- everyone is flawed but in different ways.  The Theron character is an example of good writing.

My brother pre-ordered it already, a console, Zelda, and a pro-controler.

I find it it expenssive, 330 Euros for now on Amazon.fr, but for sure in the end it will be 299 by March the 3rd when it'll come out.

But man, so much stuff exciting. Zelda alone worth the buy lol (perhaps the best one so far according some sources). Then the new Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey, Pokemon, and so many other i forget.

Ok, the console itself is not the strongest, but no one will continue in that way after the Scorpio to come out. Zelda is still in the run for the best tech, not the strongest console.

I think the console will be super attractive for the Holidays 2017. Hopefully the online won't be too expenssive as well. And people have to know they'll need to be an SD card with it. 32 GB is not enough nowadays. After that, the console have so many asset than the other doens't have. It's a huge challenge for Nintendo, but they have their fans.

Clearly the WII U and the 3DS is dead now lol They'll focus on the Switch now. The concept is, the best of Nintendo so far, in the same console.

Yes, it remind the job they made for The Lord of The Rings. It was a difficult challenge to bring it at screen !

Theon's arc is the worse, imo it's most violent part of the show ...

The Greyjoys part bores me TBH (I didn't end up watching it).  Theron's arc is what I most like about it.  I also like the Boltons.  The actor that plays Roose Bolton is excellent- his performance is nuanced and rich like Charles Dance's Tywin Lannister.  The actor who played Ramsey Bolton is actually acting as young Hitler in another production LOL.

Ah well

But yah, the Greyjoys part is definitely the worst part of the show. Hopefully they won't bring it again the next seasons ...

What do you think of Petry Baelish (littlefinger)?

He is literally a parody of Machiavelli and the actor really hams him up.

His relationship with Sansa is weird in that he reveals all his corruption and plans to her but at the same time, puts himself in a vulnerable position- as she said, she could easily have him killed.

I don't think Sansa likes him and wants to rule the iron throne with him.

I like Rob Starrk..better actor/character than Jon Snow IMHO.

Well i think he's pretty interesting. I wanted to say he was a complex character, but they're all that in that show, so ...

I'm surprised he survived all that time. In the first season i was sure he was going to die soon, then soon, then soon, and nope, he's still there, somehwere, all the time

I don't think Sansa love him either, but maybe she feels something for him, somehow, i don't know ...

Oh man, now i remember that about Rob Stark, he's death was an epic surprise, it was a big WTF for me  I didn't see that arriving

The use of these 'cyptic' side characters (like the Eunch and littlefinger) are another reason why GOT works.

The Littlefinger actor really, really hams him up to the point where I am wondering if it's just his way of earning her trust in a larger scheme.  By presenting himself as a 'mentor' of sorts, giving her "free" help, admitting his evil, and giving her some of his secrets, he can get closer and erase himself from suspicion entirely.

He openly states that he longs to win the Iron throne with her as his wife but I doubt half of it.  If he wants the Iron throne, he will have to kill Sansa like he killed necklace guy (Sir Dontos).  She would become a loose end and a potential danger if he let her live.  The excuse of him loving her like he did with her mother is nonsense imho.

If littlefinger dies, he'd probably be killed by Sansa or Jon Snow.  Littlefinger is also not happy with Jon Snow becoming the King of the North so it is likely that he will try to kill him.

do you think dragon girl's acting works?  It seems awkward to me.

Grandmaester Prycele is the villian from STar wars and Raiders of the lost ark and he's faking his infirmity.

^ No it's good, i like it. I find her arc pretty interesting. At the begenning it was the one i liked the less, but then, in the last season it was interesting. That's the most epic one i find.

Though, i don't like the actress so much ...

Oh really ? I didn't know that  I like the Wall story, i find it really interesting.
