Well you have fun with that. I'll be over here getting as few scans done as possible.

I've been looking around for stuff to sell too, so I can get some new contacts. Unfortunately I have long since sold anything I had of value. Easily remedied though, just gotta get some new stuff of value to sell.

Exactly, I never renounced my old ways. I really need some new contacts. Maybe I'll just pocket some of those instead, there's a thought.

With eyeballs attached for an extra 50 cents. :| Can't pass up that deal. I bet there has to be something like that up there though, *goes to check* All I can seem to find is lense cases and solution. Though maybe a little more searching will produce more.

Don't know what my prescription is now though, having not had my eyes checked for a while. Ebay's got frickin' everything, they probably have wholesale eye exams.

Speaking of ebay, I've been messing around with some Firefox extensions for the past couple days, and I came across this handy little tools for ebay to see all of any users Negative Feedback. As you probably know, you can't normally organize the feedback to see only negative, you are forced to browse through a hundred pages looking for the negatives, now all I gotta do is right click *joy*

Don't know why it ever took me so long to switch over from IE. I'm playing frogger right now, and as of 7:16:49 AM Abe Vigoda is still alive apparently.

ha, when did you finally make the conversion to firefox? i too was like you...refusing to change over (let me be honest with you, i REALLY dont give a shit about security haha) on principle. then i decided to give it a go...you know what actually hooked me? the skins and the foxytunes extension. i didnt even truly discover the beauty of tabbed browsing til maybe a few months ago. i dont think i'll ever go back to IE.

on another note, i finished the scans...and omg they suck i tried to cover up the fact that i didnt clean them up well by neat-imaging it a tad more than i usually do (btw, why is the luminance channel by default set on 60%? thats fucking insane). dust abounds...and i dont give a shit :|

Hmmm... Maybe a few months ago I changed over, and unless IE make some very serious changes I don't see myself going back anytime soon. I changed over originally, because IE would crash on average 20 times a day for me, for absolutely no reason. Finally I was like fuck it, and switched over to firefox. I never even knew about the extensions until I went to update to the new version the other day. The Foxytunes, thing has got to be one of the best ones I've seen yet, makes it so much easier than having a folder and your chosen media player launched up behind your browser. Tabbed browsing is a godsend I swear, how could this not have been a default feature on any browser from the beginning.

So I've just been trying out some of the random extensions I've come across. To tell you the truth I haven't given much thought to the security portion either as the last year of IE, I hadn't had a single spyware install on my system or anything of the sort. But it is nice to know that I'm even that much safer with Firefox, I have to worry about it even less.

You're scans can't be that bad, I am quite sure you are exaggerating. Not quite sure why the luminance sets a default, I think it's supposed to be based on what area you select the grain sample from, your program is fuckled in some way. I'm sure whoever you did the scans for will be appreciative none the less.

ooo yes you are definitely right about the spyware! that part makes me very happy because i was like this anti-spyware freak before. and i just realized that when i got this new laptop back in november, i didnt bother to download ad-aware, probably because i dont use IE and so the problems arent nearly as bad.

any other good extensions you've run across besides the ebay one?

ooo another benefit of firefox, it's uber-compatible with imageshack. the Quickload function is to DIE for especially helpful since i visit tFS which has a shitty attachment feature

ok so on closer inspection, they're not really that bad, but i know exactly what i didnt bother to edit so everything looks like it's glaringly obvious to me.

and boo the fuckledness of my prgm <_< although i do like that word "fuckle" *writes down for future reference*

I run my spyware stuff maybe once a month now, and it's been that way for a while. Running firefox just makes it that much easier all around. I don't need to lose everything because some jackass over at microsoft, doesn't know how to create a proper browser, so I think I'll be sticking with firefox for the foreseeable future.

Hmm, I've got this ForecastFox, comes with the little radar images and everything, pretty handy, especially for a guy like me who never goes outside anymore. I couldn't resist.

I've got the Abe Vigoda status monitor. Frogger and Pagman, Dictionary Tooltip, GTranslate, Google Preview, Download Embedded, so I can snag some of those easy videos from website's instead of browsing through the html. Just a few basic ones I installed last night, think I might test a few more out when I'm more awake. Although I hate browsing through pages and pages of things, so when I can muster the stamina to go through all those, I think I'll get some more.

I haven't heard of the imageshack thing, gonna have to check that out, though I don't host much there anymore.

I always end up homing in on the most tiny spots on my scans, like you said, it always looks completey obvious that it's there, gotta remember though to not be so picky when I start working on a scan.

and boo the fuckledness of my prgm

Hilarious, particularly the use of the word fuckledness.

I feel your pain on the computer lag, I work in photoshop and I'll click and have to wait for everything to catch up. Everything takes forever to just frickin go, when I'm running multiple things.

That's what I initially planned on doing, hence the Abe Vigoda extension. Then I just went to bed. I'm thinking that the joke with Abe, is that he's just really, really old, and somehow still around, and it's some kind of running joke. He's on Conan a lot. It's just another thing that serves no purpose but to make me laugh when I look at it.

Hey, I'm getting a little better I think, still slow as hell though. I'm trying though.

Edit:

i just look out the window to determine the weather

I really should open my curtains more often, there's snow out there though, I don't wanna see that crap.

ok so for one, you totally beat me because i got sucked into firefox extensions and therefore...didnt do shit but i was more making a joke about how quickly it takes me to edit my scans because i'm too lazy than a joke about how long it takes you to reply though it works either way

ooo so the abe vigoda extension is for entertainment purposes? i seeeeee

Ha! The tables have turned, it's normally I who get drawn away.

I don't blame ya though of course, I know the power of pretty much everything else over actually getting a scan done. You know I think it takes me longer to do a single scan than anybody else I know, what the hell is wrong with me. I mean to finish up a scan once I've started.

Indeed it does work either way.

Abe Vigoda is to be used purely for entertainment. There's another one that randomly pops up a calming message on your screen, in case your doing stressful work or whatever and need calming or something like that.

pretty much. yes...i suspected as much does it take you longer than it takes Nine? she might be the only other person i can think of who may take longer than you But the hard work and time you put into your scan shows and does not go unappreciated

oooo i might need that. oh wait...i dont actually do anything, nevermind :|

Exactly, it was hot here the just two days ago, and now there's snow. Nature clearly hates us. I think I'm gonna go outside and hug the earth.

I don't know actually, not sure how long it take Nine. I can be sure of one thing though it takes me a long time. :| It took me 3 1/2 hours on one of the two page Moussy catalog scans. That's more at the top end of how long it has taken me in the past.

I'm glad people appreciate 'em, makes me feel warm like I'm wrapped in a big blanket

That stress extension could help you out when dealing with the people who piss you off here.

Forum crashed for a moment, took me longer than expected.

3 1/2 hrs is friggen insane but your scans always look so beautifully grainy like you can see each teeny particle, and it gives it such a nice look. i'm almost jealous ... except not enough to spend more time on my scans

ooo good point about ppl who piss me off here...speaking of which, someone else was added to the list. actually he was already there but he annoyed me yet again today. had to restrain from verbal strangulation. i succeeded. go me

yeah same here...i saw that you'd replied and then it crashed again it seems while i was trying to click your thread

Totally not fooling anyone here.

I actually just got on for a quick second before I went to bed. I've been sick all day, and sitting in the living room waiting for the damn ups guy to show up with my dvd burner. It was supposed to be delivered this morning, showed up at 6pm. I watched King Kong though, that was the highlight of my day.

Your jealous of my scans, how flattering. I still wish it didn't take me so long to finish them though, I mean I have plenty of time, but that much time on one scan. :|

Glad you were able to get past your moment of weakness with whoever it may be. I think I might download that calmer for myself, because there are times when I can't keep myself from flipping out.
